I think that Emerald Night coaches are much wanted and that you will get quite a bit of money by selling it. However, building extra coaches is no real problem. I added two further coaches after buying all the necessary parts from bricklink and TLC. You just have to be patient till you've got all pieces.

Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
legotrainfan replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have just read in the thread "No more straight and curve packs!" that the set with straight and flexible tracks will be the only track set available in the near future. I've also read in it that some people are not satisfied with this. Well, I'm wondering if it would be better for TLC to sell a set with straight tracks only and to offer flexible tracks and curves on P@B. What do you think about this idea? (I hope this opinion hasn't been uttered before. I haven't read the whole thread.) As for myself, I don't bother about the train track issue so much. I'm a 9V nut and have recently started to acquire some 12V material for a 12V layout. So I get frustrated because of other matters. However, I can understand your complaints and your needs. That's why I say YES; TLC should change the way it sells tracks. -
I thought that the modular houses series was finished and that Grand Emporium was the last gem of that line. I didn't think that a new modular building was going to hit the market in the near future. Modular buildings seem to sell pretty well. The release of a new one is good news... but if I think of the fact that I hardly have enough room left for such a building, it's actually bad news for me!

WIP MOD: Is it a 7938? Is it a 7939? No, it's....
legotrainfan replied to Snapshot's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Good idea to change the front section! It looks quite good! I'm also looking forward to seeing the finished creation! -
Nice little detailed creation that is definitely useful in every LEGO town/city! I'd have used light grey instead of black. But that's just a matter of tase.

MOC: Mountain road and rail cargo station
legotrainfan replied to Fistach's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I like it that you built one rail of the crane into the mountain. Quite ingenious to do it that way! The rest of your creation is also amazing! -
A MISB tanker waggon 4537. It was an eBay auction.

Valentine - Why The singer of Valentine is amazing. She reveals the amazing quality of her voice in this song.

Great set! I love those old 12V sets! Maybe I'll have that set too. I have been looking for 12V stuff for a while. My 9V sets are getting some 12V mates. It's a pity that you have to buy the speed regulator separately. When you buy it, is a connection wire included or do you have to buy it separately as well? Why is Octan stuff not existant in your LEGO city? If you've never bought any sets that include Octan things, I'm sure you've already missed some great sets. ...and I find this set train-tacular!

Today I bought Grand Emporium and Winter Village Bakery on S@H. I'll leave the bakery unopened since I don't know where to put it. I'm running out of space. But I've left one spot empty for Grand Emporium, which I'm going to build at Christmas.

I wouldn't have believed that you could put so many PF elements into such a tiny locomotive! Great job! Your locomotive looks fantastic!

First I though there can't be any stairs in such a small building, but you managed to put them in! Looks very nice, your little restaurant! No wonder that there are some minute details like the tap and toilet in it. There wouldn't have been enough room for anything that isn't minute.

MOC: refrigeration wagon with brakeman's cab
legotrainfan replied to kost u grlu's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great implementation of snot techniques! The doors of the waggon also look very complicated. Seems that a lot of thought went into them. The brakeman's cab is an awesome detail! It must be a bit complicated to leave enough room for it and to keep it small enough so that it doesn't look out of scale compared to the rest of the waggon. Great job! -
Nice idea! The three buildings - the two official sets and your MOC - merge partly with each other in a nice way. They do not merge fully because the three buildings are still too different. But it doesn't look bad at all when put next to each other. I also like your detailed representation of daily life inside of your MOC.

Very nice locomotive! I like the way you did the front/back part with the windscreen. The front and back sections of locomotives are usually the hardest to build.

Your train looks very nice! Your new coupling system is ingenious! Wow!
-
The train station looks great! The platfrom can be made longer easily! Are you planning on adding any details? I hope you do. Everything still looks a bit bare.

"Where's the Holiday Train?" - That's what I first thought when I looked at your layout. Anyway, it looks great. I hope you'll extend it till Christmas.

Thanks for making me aware of the existence of LEGO ice cream. I didn't know it existed. In which sets is it available? Nice little vignette! I didn't know cheerleaders ate ice cream either. I thought they always watched their weight carefully.

Be happy if there are no broken pieces. Especially the baseplates could crack if falling too roughly, I suppose. This situation must be really annoying. It's a complicated puzzle to put all those sets together since their pieces have become mixed.

Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
legotrainfan replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Amazing landscape! I love all that green! It looks so real! I think I'm breating in clean medieval country air! And the building is also absolutely stunning and amazing! Simply fantastic! -
I have got a copy of the Emerald Night and it's not yet motorised. Buying all the necessary pieces is quite expensive. So either go for one of the cheaper PF trains, where you get all the necessary parts to make them run, or accept that you have to pay quite a bit for a successful motorisation. If you decide to get the Emerald Night, please inform your husband about the following flaws: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37468&hl=emerald+night+fix http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28273&st=75 After remedying them, the engine runs more smoothly.

Collectable Minfigures: Worth the Hype?
legotrainfan replied to Derek's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm quite indifferent to the hype around these special minifigs. I find them quite good, but I haven't bought even one. I think they'd stick out too much next to ordinary minifigs. I feel they'd be out of place in my city layout. I don't even know where you can download the barcodes. I also don't think my attitude towards them will change in the near future. I prefer spending my money on sets and not on single minifigs. I'd like to know if there's anyone sharing my opinion. Seems that nearly everyone is absolutely fascinated by them. -
Compared to the Metroliner, the crocodile was available for a shorter period of time. It was being sold for three years before it was discontinued. The Metroliner, however, was being sold for five years. By the way, I have got one. I bought it in used condition and I'd love to have a MISB one. The used one came without stickers and the engine driver came with a trousers in the wrong colour. If a new one weren't so expensive... *sigh* So I find it a brilliant set and I think most 9V fans think the same. I'd be surprised if the opposite were the case.
