  1. You've stated my opinion and all the rest is true of me as well! I have the Beach House but not the Apple Tree House, but the latter simply looks nicer. That's all I can say to justify my choice.
  2. Classic Space, Futuron, Space Police 1 + 2, Ice Planet, M:Tron, Blacktron 1 + 2, and Spyrius. I'm sorry, but I cannot decide on one particular theme. I loved the era in whoch those themes mentioned above were released! However, aren't those all subthemes? So in this case the best sci fi theme would be space!
  3. Wow, your engine looks great! For me it looks a bit futuristic because of the design combined with the choice of colours.
  4. Before watching the clip I thought that a monorail western train would certainly look silly. Well, I was wrong. I doesn't look bad at all. Great job and nice western layout!!
  5. On S@H the winter toy shop is available again in case you don't know yet. At least you can buy it again in Austria, Great Britain and Germany. I didn't check the availability in all European countries, but I suppose you can get it in everywhere in Europe. I also checked the US, but there it's not listed.
  6. Wow, those waggons are really amazing! Pretty detailed and a huge variety of different waggons! That's brilliant! Are you also planning on creationg very detailed freight waggons? I'm asking myself the same question!
  7. If you decide to sell your creations on eBay, don't forget the following things: - Take good pictures of your creation. The better the pictures, the higher people will bid. - Don't let the auction end when there's a big event like a soccer game, Formular 1 race or similar events that will make people watch TV instead of bidding. - Don't let the auction end at a time when everybody normally works like at 10 a.m. That would be an inconvenient time. Most people wouldn't have time to bid because they would be working. Let it end some time in the late evening when everyone is at home.
  8. Being Austrian I can only say I'm fascinated by your Rail Jet. It's a superb model! However, I have to agree to Holodoc's opinion on the colours you used. Ty dark red. Maybe it'll look better in dard red instead of brown.
  9. If you want to get into pirates, then do it now! You can still buy most sets. If you wait for too long, you will probably regret it later. Or just think of the time before the revival of the pirates line. There were quite many years between Pirates I and Pirates II. Those years between the two two pirate lines were the hardest to enter this theme. So hurry up unless you want to wait for the coming no-pirates-years!
  10. I'm so looking forward to getting this one! I don't have any bricks in maerks blue! How much was the original set actually? I can't remember it any more.
  11. No idea if you need replacement parts for this modification. I've got the Emerald Night, but it's not motorised anyway. So I'm in no hurry to fix it. As soon as you know what parts you need for the fix, you can either buy them on bricklink.com or in the Pick-A-Brick section of shop.lego.com.
  12. I suppose you mean Sea Serpent 6057. I've got that ship and you're right: It's surprising that two Black Hawk soldiers are part of the crew. It must be that way.
  13. I've just gone through your review again. You provided us with that information right away. I should've read everything carefully. I completeley forgot about Royal Drawbridge 6078 though I have got it myself! You're absolutely right! There's a big Black Knights shiled in that set! Very mysterious! Anyone here who can bring a bit of light into this unsolved state? As to whether the Royal Knight helps the Dark Forest guys because he is loading the catapult, hasn't TLC sometimes done this? I mean aren't there other boxes on which you can see that a guy from one faction helps another faction? There might be some other cases of treason, but right at the moment there are no concrete examples in my mind. I could be wrong, though, and that Royal Knight has been the only traitor in the history of castle sets.
  14. What about buying a carpet and putting the tracks on them? However, this is only a good solution if you're not intending to build a town around the tracks. Placing houses, road plates and other things on a carpet isn't a good idea though you can try, of course.
  15. For me this set is outstanding. I think the Dark Forest line wasn't released in Europe. Sets were only available in the US. Please correct me if I'm wrong here! I'd love to own this fortress. I like its colours and don't bother about the raised baseplate, which some of you don't like. There are also quite many minifigs. In contrast to the Forestmen line, the trees are brown and not black anymore. Some people dislike the black trees of the Forestmen line since they don't look realistic. I myself don't care so much about them being black or brown, but I must say that brown trees were a nice change. Have you ever noticed the coachman's shield which does not correspond to the bigger shield attached to the coach? His shield is from another, previous line: the Black Knights. Strange. I suppose TLC didn't want to make new smaller shields just because of one set. They decided to use the old printing pattern of the Black Knights line instead.
  16. Grand Emporium is outstanding! Thanks for this wonderful and detailed review! For me it's definitely a must-get! There are some quite amazing details like the escalator, for instance! I hope to have one copy in my collection soon.
  17. I also love the Mission Commander 6986. I don't have that fantastic set! What I also find great - but I suppose it doesn't count as a spaceship - is Alien Moon Stalker 6940. Source: peeron.com
  18. 6941 Battrax, new and MISB. It's a Blacktron I set.
  19. I like the Guarded Inn most because of the rare red wall elements and the medieval lady. However, it was not so easy to make a decision. Black Falcon's Fortress is also an amazing set with a nice yellow wall element.
  20. It's pretty good. I tend to prefer the normal train doors instead of brick built ones, but I suppose train doors in light bluish grey don't exist.
  21. This castle is definitely outstanding! Thanks for this review! I particularly like all those details like the well or those stairs that are part of the raised baseplate. I didn't know there were stairs that were part of the baseplate! What I regretted, though, is that LEGO decided to introduce new lion shields and torsos with the new lion symbol on them instead of staying with the old ones. I don't think that a change was really needed.
  22. I thought it was easier to use a bow. A crossbow was heavier than a bow. Archers also needed more time to reload a crossbow.
  23. I have recently discovered some sets that were sold by Playmobil when I was a child. However, they can still be bought. So they must be revivals of old sets as LEGO legends are. Just look at some Playmobil legends I have found: A western coach: http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.stor...cgid=Ds_Western Why is this a legend? Well, Playmobil doesn't sell the horses of this set any more. They sell horses that look different. Also the Playmobil figure is very simply in style as they used to be. Here are two tracks for construction sites. They also come with those simple figures of the past: http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.stor...66&cgid=Bau http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.stor...amp;cgid=Ds_Bau This green truck with the big crane bucket looks amazingly good! It's simple and great at the same time. I'm wondering about its original release date since I cannot remember having seen it in my childhood. Playmobil also offers some accessories that were part of sets in the past. Here are some machines for your tractor: http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.stor...Ds_Zubehoersets http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.stor...id=Ds_Bauernhof This tanker seems to have been available as an accessory for quite a long time. I can remember having given it to my brother as a birthday present many years ago. I especially like the two construction trucks and the western coach. I somehow feel tempted to buy them, but I'd better think of the LEGO sets and bricks I still want! What about you? I know there are some former and some still active Playmobil lovers among us. Do you like the sets I have mentioned here? Edit: After doing a bit of research on the Playmobil homepage I found out that the green truck with the crane bucket was first released in 1980.
  24. When you have a room like that, you suddenly realise how much space tracks can take up. My LEGO room has 12 square metres and the railway stuff takes up nearly everthing of that space.
  25. The weather wouldn't do the plastic LEGO is made of any good, I suppose. So I wouldn't try to put up a LEGO train layout outside unless you want to remove it again every time after playing, which would be very wearisome. LEGO is not supposed to be left outside all the time. The only tracks that are appropriate for outside use are LGB tracks. (Some of you call them G scale tracks. I have never heard that name for this scale.) Well, Playmobil uses this scale and I think playmobil engines and waggons are cheapest, especially compared to real LGB stuff. I once saw an LGB diesel engine in a toy shop and it was between 600 und 700 euro!
