  1. I'm just waiting for the surge of Toy Fair pics. We'll see everything we want to, then. By the way, I'm confident the sets we've seen are final or near final. Once the box art looks that polished it's unlikely that the sets will change much before release. I remember reading some mentions of "prelim" and I thought I should point that out. If we see any changes at all they'll be very minimal. I have a feeling what we've seen so far is what we'll be buying in stores.
  2. Honestly the only reason why I remembered is because the set names really caught my attention. Something about a robot battle (omg exo-force) and an airship fortress sounded potentially awesome. (then again, the new Power Miners sounded potentially awesome too, and look what happened.)
  3. I'm disappointed that we haven't seen any Agents yet. I wonder why those have been kept so closely under wraps?
  4. Looks good. Probably the only SW set this year to really catch my eye. But, the price tag might keep me away from it.
  5. While I like the design of the pods, nothing annoys me more than huge "invisible" structures holding together the vehicle. I never knew that they made a Sebulba minifig! Good review.
  6. Man, I miss Harry Potter. It's strange, because I don't think it's a great theme- it was notorious for underdeveloped structures and having WAY too many arches- but I still really miss it. This review brought me back. Thanks, and I'd love to see some more!
  7. Yet completely true. The most laughable moments of Bionicle history tend to have something to do with Greg's dialogue. EDIT: I read the update. It was pretty good, but I find it hard to believe that Malum would simply stand in one place and let the rock avalanche pile on top of him once he noticed the Skrall were charging right for him. That bothered me, because I like Malum so much, but I won't deny that it was a step up from what we've been getting.
  8. I seriously doubt the green guy is Squidman. He doesn't look "squiddy" at ALL to me.
  9. Is it at all possible to share?
  10. Exactly what frame of reference are you using, here?
  11. Good catch... I assumed they were, but they might be different. I have a hunch they're the same criminal, though.
  12. We've seen Hyperspeed Pursuit, Container Heist, the Galactic Enforcer, and bits and pieces of other sets. That still leaves Max Security Transport, Squidman Escape, Squidman Pitshop, Gold Heist, Freeze Ray Frenzy. That's quite a bit.
  13. Really? We've only seen three sets from the toy fair... aren't there others?
  14. This is extremely sad. All of the family's efforts to make the boy happy resulted in his death... what a tragic turn of events. I can't imagine how the father must have felt after that kind of shock. I don't pray, but I hold the family in my thoughts. This is truly a terrible thing.
  15. Sounds overdramatic by all accounts. I don't really blame him though.
  16. It's not really a big deal. He'll probably come back, and who are we to expect him to participate in a community that constantly A. derides him or B. worships him? In either case it's annoying and irrational.
  17. ...okay, guys, does it honestly matter if Greg is on BZP, Eurobricks, or wherever else? He does not walk on water, and I doubt his presence here will have a significant impact on the Bionicle storyline to come.
  18. Because, unlike yourself, there may be those with something profound to say without a great deal of interest in the authenticity of the language used? You're just closing your mind to people who are probably every bit as smart and insightful as yourself. The only difference is they're less picky about their English, and you're using their disinterest to make yourself feel intellectually superior. Sure, talking like a three year old will not make one sound intelligent, but I'm just saying that disregarding somebody on a basis of their English alone is not at all justified. It's the content that matters, not the presentation. I've read plenty if intelligent comments and posts from people who butcher their English mercilessly. For the record, I prefer good English too, which is why I use it, but communication is communication and I will respect people who prefer a lazier method.
  19. VERY slickly done. I love the SYSTEM/TECHNIC combination that works so well. Also the head is very clever.
  20. Toys'R'Us often abbreviates words in their labels. I think it's probably a real sign but I doubt it was put up intentionally; probably a prank.
  21. Pretty good for an amateur work. He ought to take something like this up in college.
  22. Believe it or not, if I showed substantial promise as a writer to pursue a career in the field, I would invest my talent into something other than a kid's book series based on a building toy. Oh, and you must be new to the internet if you use typos to judge somebody's ability to think critically. Yes, and it's definitely silly to expect Tolstoy-level writing from a book series directed at kids, which a lot of older fans seem to do. That's not legitimate grounds for complaint. If you're buying a kid's book you should expect kid's level reading- simple logic. But even so, it's hard to deny the cheesiness of the writing in Bionicle, and it's perfectly possible that Greg could do a little better. I don't intend to go on a pointless bash-fest because I don't read the stuff, but just because it's only SUPPOSED to be so good doesn't mean it can't be better. I also agree with Jinzo in that there's probably something other than what we're aware of going on here- perhaps Greg just wanted a break for more personal reasons. But honestly, who cares? Let him do his thing.
  23. Greg is not a great writer and he should take criticism both more lightly and more seriously. He's never seemed terribly mature to me, though.
  24. Feel free to share with the rest of us.
