  1. I don't think I've ever OWNED an antique set MISB. WAY too pricey.
  2. Like? You can only make so many fantasy enemies before you run out of cliches. We've had all of the obvious choices, like dragons, skeletons, orcs (or trolls), and wizards. What else can we do?
  3. Honestly I think it's quite likely that LEGO will make an Elves theme in the coming years. A) These hints do mean something. It would surprise me if LEGO made all this for no reason. B) Castle is running out of places to go. The trolls VS knights thing can only be milked for so long. C) Elves would be awesome.
  4. I used to be a Bionicle enthusiast, but not anymore. Know why? It just went downhill. The story, mood, etc is pitiful now. 2001 was the only year that I really enjoyed. 2009 is the best year since 2001 imo, but it's still not quite as good.
  5. I won't lie: I love this set. It was fun, small, and collectible. I also confess that I love Life on Mars. I think it was much better than Mars Mission and I loved all of the Mechs. I think the mechs in this theme were as close as LEGO got to an Armored Core type theme. Fantastic review, I really enjoyed it.
  6. Normally I don't bother myself with Trains, but this is really tempting... look at all those parts! When is it coming out?
  7. She's bringing sexy back.
  8. It's because they're prelims.
  9. I agree with this... most of the SW sets that have appealed to me have been UCS.
  10. No, because from the start we knew there would be a cheap set called "Squidman Escape".
  11. You made a pretty low comment that theorizes that I had already tasted dog shit. That's what I was responding to. I'm all for ending discussions with no real direction, since this is getting cumbersome. We keep saying the same things.
  12. At least I was relatively polite about it all. Besides, that's what the internet is for. This is getting spammy, so I'm gonna stop posting about this now.
  13. What, did you bump him off? You didn't accomplish anything here besides coming off as a prick with your big, red letters.
  14. Well despite this list I think most will agree that Bionicle is not worse than Galidor.
  15. If a mod puts an end to it I will, but in the meantime I see nothing wrong with continuing until we're both bored. This topic is for the discussion of 2009 Bionicle and what we were talking about does fall into that category.
  16. And clearly it's not those people I am talking about, but Bfahome himself/herself. I realize I can't prove Bionicle 4 will suck, but I do maintain that this teaser is a very bad sign for people who were hoping for a drastic improvement over the first three movies. Suckage is a matter of opinion anyway, which can't be technically proven. In fact most of the things discussed here can't be proven.
  17. I'm not stopping you from talking about the Toy Fair. I simply expressed disappointment with the new trailer (that was shown at the Toy Fair, I might add) and was promptly attacked for it. I can see you're new to Eurobricks, so realize that people are allowed to go off topic here (and this isn't even that off topic). Familiarize yourself with the place before you go ordering people around.
  18. Kindly take your obsession with control somewhere where people aren't allowed to discuss new developments in a series they are fond of.
  19. I guess I was just hoping for higher production values than that.
  20. As for the writing, it just shows a general lack of care for the storytelling. I've seen many trailers with better narration than that. But you're right the scriptwriters were probably not involved with that bit. The animation for the entire film is probably not finished yet, no, but the stuff they put in an official teaser is probably as good looking as they can make it. Which is a very bad sign. I've seen teasers with battle scenes, vehicles, and creatures, just not much of them. Teasers do set the mood for films and it's usually quite telling of what the film will be like. It's always possible, I suppose, that this is just a REALLY bad teaser, but somehow I don't think that's likely.
  21. I think it was honestly a bad idea to begin with. System does not render large bipedal figures well. This was proven with Exo-Force and Creator and this set is just solidifying that principle.
  22. Oh, quite mature. Are we in third grade now? Excuse me while I mop the apple sauce off of my bib. As I stated in the very sentence you quoted, the fact that you don't think the trailer is cheesy makes me think you don't have a very good frame of reference. Maybe you ought to be more open to the idea that Bionicle can be, at times, very cheesy. ...being cheesy wouldn't even be a bad thing if Bionicle wasn't trying so hard to be taken seriously. Um, yes it does, because the trailer is actually a sample of the movie itself, whereas you compared two things that having nothing to do with each other. I can tell you don't understand my position. I'll try to clear it up. I DON'T think that a 30-second trailer is telling of all the aspects of the movie. I DO think it is very telling of the direction the movie is headed. The trailer is giving off vibes of cheesy, poorly animated action with a rather cartoony mood. It could have, alternatively, given off vibes of a dark, desolate new world full of atmosphere and bizarre creatures. It could have showcased various desert vehicles attacking each other in an intense action sequence. Instead it chose to come off as a Cartoon Network premiere, focusing on the arrival to Mata-Nui. This tells me that LEGO is making the movie with a cartoony mood rather than a desolate or intense one. On top of that, the animation was quite bad, telling me that I shouldn't expect any huge technological leap over the other movies. On top of THAT, the narrator was corny as hell, telling me that no particular care was put into at least SOME aspects of the script. A good comparison is the new Space Police line. At first, we Space fans had no idea what to expect. Then low-quality scans of one of the sets arrived. This was just one set, and it wasn't a very good look to be sure. But we still had a wealth of new expectations as a result. Why? We saw that there would be alien and police vehicles, we saw the color schemes, we saw some of the aliens, and we got a general impression of what the "mood" would be. Same thing applies here. It may be only a taste of the film, but it's still very telling of the film's "mood", and it is the exact opposite of what I was hoping for, meaning that I will likely take my business elsewhere.
  23. I'm saying that Star Wars is very, very cartoony.
  24. See previous example. I don't know if I can really prove to you that it's cheesy, but if you don't think it is, then I invite you to watch more movies. What? No. Commercials are not advertising the comics. They don't give a "taste" of them at all.
