  1. The best part of the OOTP set is the exclusive Death Eater mask.
  2. I'm personally fond of the Sirius Black's Escape, Graveyard Duel, and Durmstrange Ship. The only Order of the Pheonix set probably deserves a mention as well. Basically anything 2002-2007.
  3. Because I'm not seeing anything that merits a $250 purchase. Yeah, the dropship looks great, but the AT-OT is a load of meh. Sloppy construction and flimsy structures, if those Toy Fair videos are anything to go by. That's half the set right there. Besides that, there are no exclusive parts or terribly interesting minifigs. I don't collect clones since I'm not a SW collector, so the (relatively) high clone count does nothing for me. The best part about the set is obviously the dropship, and while it's dang good, I wouldn't pay $250 for it. I'll probably wait for it to go on sale, nab it, and sell the AT-OT on Ebay. Or I may skip it entirely and buy more Space Police.
  4. Nice. I never got this set but I rather wish I had. Tons of rare parts! I'd love to see you do some reviews of the more acclaimed HP sets. IMO, Harry Potter got much better as it went on.

    9v Planes

LEGO bricks are far too heavy and unwieldy for this. You could never get an aerodynamic shape.
  6. That looks quite nice. Where did you get it? I've never heard of Akro-Mills before.
  7. I think I decided to skip the Dropship or at least wait on it. It's really appealing at first glance, but upon closer examination I don't think it's really worth the price tag at all. I may wait for it to go on sale, but I'm not sure I'll even buy it then, because by then the Space Police will be out.
  8. My LEGO collection has recently encountered a storage space problem. I have huge bins full of LEGOs all over my room and my shelves are crammed with LEGO sets I refuse to break. Clearly I need a more efficient method of LEGO storage, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to have run into this problem, so I was wondering what's a recommended storage method? Any particularly useful containers?
  9. It's so hard to take this conversation seriously with all the silly acronyms. BURPs and SNOT, oh my!
  10. In fact, ALL of those themes that aren't past their preliminary phase suck! They look so unfinished!
  11. Ohh, forestmen! That theme was all kinds of awesome. Besides, who can forget the ultra-rare forestbabe?
  12. Yet I feel it was done pretty effectively. The only Bionicle parts I see are black fins, and I think they look fine.
  13. Sad to say that I missed out in this theme... now I want to go nab some of these great sets off of Ebay.
  14. I'll agree with that... the SP figs are rather disappointing.
  15. o: blasphemy
  16. I loved the Arctic line myself. The transforming mechanic worked really well, even if it was gimmicky.
  17. So much Alpha Team hate... am I the only one who actually liked that theme?
  18. That doesn't sound "medieval" to me; more like some kind of halloween theme.
  19. Very true. I'm siding with the Space Police because I like collecting more military-like themes and amassing a huge space navy. The villains aren't organized enough for me to march them into battle. But I do see the attraction of the aliens and I'll be picking them up for sure... those parts are too good to miss out on.
  20. XD, this contest is awesome. I like your design. It's not terribly interesting but I realize you had some serious limitations. Well done.
  21. I agree with the above. It was thrown together, but I felt it was intentionally so. The idea was unique and I give it tons of points just for that. It wasn't Space, Town, or Castle, it was just it's own idea and one of the most radical LEGO has ever attempted. Shame we never see this kind of creativity today.
  22. Not bad at all. You really ought to dispense with the Exo-Force arms and go with something more detailed, though. Otherwise, well done.
  23. I object to the terminology here. Space Police is not Space.
  24. I think it's interesting that there's a huge split of opinion between those who like the Space Police vehicles and those who like the villain vehicles. I've heard many people speak in favor of one of them but not both. Personally I'd prefer the Space Police vehicles, because I love the designs of the three biggest ships, especially the Hyperspeed Pursuit vehicle. I do really like the villain vehicles too, though. Just a little sticker-heavy.
  25. It's not worthless: you can wait two years and sell it for a profit!
