  1. Thank you, Slobey!
  2. Have you ordered there before? How long does it usually take for new sets to be listed? Any trouble with customs on larger shipments? I intended to only but Bag End after seeing the Aussie prices, but with 20 $ flat rate shipping, I'd gladly get them all from the US.
  3. And here are the per/ piece prices. Attack of the Wargs takes the "top" spot at exactly 25 cents per piece.
  4. I'd go with: 1. Goblin soldier 2. Orc (Mordor or Hunter, either is fine) 3a. Soldier of Gondor (printed armour piece and new helmet) 3b. Ranger of Ithilien
  5. Seems like a decent deal!
  6. The printed (Shire?) map is the only incentive, I guess. But then, it will stand in contrast wit the two stickered maps in An unexpected Gathering. I was hoping for an orc hunter polybag. Or better yet: A goblin polybag with a small bridge part that can be connected to the Goblin King Battle set.
  7. Absolutely beautiful! I love the exterior and the basement, in particular.
  8. I feel your pain. On top of the extreme price difference, limited accessibility further hurts. The recent Mirkwood Elf polybag is an example. You won't find it outside the USA, and I haven't come across any altruistic LEGO fans that want to help out just for the sake of being kind to people sharing their hobby (i.e. reselling at close to retail prices). I haven't come across other products with the kind of inflated prices as LEGO, either. For instance, there's an approximate 10 $ difference in video games, and far less in DVDs and CDs. Anyway, here (Australia), you'd pay: 79000 - 105 pcs - 22,99 AUD 79001 - 298 pcs - 49,99 AUD 79002 - 400 pcs - 99,99 AUD 79003 - 652 pcs - 119,99 AUD 79004 - 334 pcs - N/A 79010 - 841 pcs - 149,99 AUD Keep in mind that the Aussie dollar is currently STRONGER than the US currency. If I'd buy the Goblin King Battle and An Unexpected Gathering here, I'd pay 270 bucks. For that kind of money, I'd get nearly the complete Hobbit line in the USA. Funny enough, I'll be travelling to Europe in a few weeks and will pick up some of the sets there to SAVE money. I hope they'll give that armour to regular Gondorian soldiers if they'll ever be cast into plastic. It looks indefinitely better than simple torso printing!
  9. Splendid idea! Female character and Nazgul in one pack!
  10. Thorin used Orcrist in the battle with the goblins, only. The blade was taken from him when he was captured by the Mirkwood elves. He didn't have Orcrist during the Battle of the Five Armies. Thranduil gave it back after Throin had passed away.
  11. I highly doubt to see these outside of the US (maybe UK). You can find some on eBay, but of course, sellers are not trying to help you out but to rip you off, and sell them for between 10 and 15 US$ plus shipping. Bricklink might be your best bet as the polybags are sold from 7$ upwards.
  12. Would you consider selling them instead of trading?
  13. Here's a Games Workshop look at Goblintown, including the Great Goblin's throne.
  14. Beregond and Prince Imrahil? Hope they'll make it into real minifigures! There's so much potential for a nice Gondorian army.
  15. I absolutely love the inclusion of that piece! If I remember correctly, King Thranduil has a weakness for treasure, in particular (green) emeralds. Perfect to set up his hoard, decorate his throne room in a MOC or whatnot. Is there anybody in the US who'd like to buy five of those elves for me and send them over? I'd pay (elves and shipping) via PayPal.
  16. I like Elrond and thought Hugo Weaving represented the character perfectly. Still, I voted average for two reasons: The sword is not accurate, and I don't think it would be too much of a stretch for LEGO to design a one-handed curved elven blade for the theme. The main reason, however, is the short cape. It look almost comical on him, particularly when comparing to the image on the bag. Good review, though! Hope you (and everybody else) will get a long cape. It would be a shame to have such a major flaw distract from an otherwise fantastic minifigure.
  17. Please share if you receive an answer.
  18. Nice polybag, but I'm in complete agreement with Deathleech on this one: I immediately thought this set would need: - elf hair to alternate between hood and hair piece - either a light green hood colour (same colour as Faramir) or dark green cape for contrast Could you please tell me where to find that info? I can only read "United States, including all territories". Edit: Never mind, it's right under the item description rather than in the "How to get it" tab.[/s] Edit: Although it does state that international shipping is available, I cannot get to the checkout due to the error message: "The item cannot be shipped to the country you selected." Too bad. So here's waiting for eBay sales at inflated prices...
  19. I couldn't help but watch a compilation of all cut scenes of the upcoming video game. It shows soooo many figures I'd absolutely love to see in brick form! The eagles appeared molded with movable wings, similar to the fellbeast. Faramir and the Gondorian rangers look great, Aragorn's kingly outfit would be nice to have, and I really hope for a hairpiece seen in both white wizards. Isildur possibly takes the cake as the best looking mini, but there are simply limitless opportunities for future sets. If anybody wants to watch it, here's the link. It's humorous, and I didn't think there were any spoilers (not if you've watched the movies, anyway).
  20. In case anybody is interested to get five of the six Hobbit sets at 25% off: http://www.shopforme.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=789&language=en
  21. I wondered the same. If you obviously have zero interest in the Hobbit, why would you purchase these expensive sets? Oh well, to each his own, and I'm happy for each review (although this set is a must-buy since July anyway). However, I must admit that I turned this particular review to silent after hearing "very nice, as you can see here" for the tenth time within two minutes. Edit: One unrelated note: The only thing I dislike about An unexpected Gathering (aside from the stickers) is the inside of the door. I wonder how it would look if you'd replace the white square with a brown, round 4x4 piece (i.e. the wheels of the Uruk-hai Army ballista).
  22. Nice review! Particularly liked the comparisons between Sam/ Bilbo and the two Gollum versions. This set seems perfect to attempt a modification, using a baseplate, some rocks on the side and water to create parts of the lake. Definitely going to buy it if I find it under 20 dollars.
  23. I second that. A little bit of scenery (some bushes and rocks, approx. 50-70 pieces), one gray warg, two hunter orcs and one eagle - this would sell in bunches!
  24. Higher quality review of "An unexpected Gathering" which is veeery niiice, as you see here Edit: Link is not displaying for some reason. So just search youtube. Uploader "Brickraider".
  25. Very good review of "An unexpected Gathering" here: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2012/11/13/lego-hobbit-79003-an-unexpected-gathering-best-set-of-all-time-review/
