Wow! I have been looking for hours but just now decide to post and I need to admit I really love this new pics. Finally we get pics of Nute and Farr and also some nice pics of Hoth and Endor too . The only thing that dissapoints me is that all of these are still very preliminary in my opinion and I think we need to wait till the International TF to see what we are going to get . I am very pleased by the new AT-ST and I think is something really important in this new Endor set, just lookat that walker is maybe the best designed AT-something since the old AT-AT in my opinion , not even the new AT-TE can beat this new AT-ST model . Also I really hope the TLC is going to reveal a big Anniversary set in the TF (I don´t mean UCS or the Mon Cal Cruiser), anyone remember when the TLC asked us what we want as an anniversary set to be probably released in October 2009 and have a $150-$200 price point? Well I remember it and now I am really looking foward to that "rumor". EDIT: Sorry, wrong topic.

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
darkrebellion replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well I just finish of see "Defenders of Peace" and I need to admit that I like it . Sure the episode isn´t as good as it´s predecessor "Jedi Crash" but I think that mainly cause this episode is more of an add-on to the previous episode so the story isn´t that good as an stand-alone episode but if you put together both episodes you get a really good "combo" . I really like how the Lurmen mantien thier philosophy until the the very end proof that they have a very strong culture . Also I absolutely love this new ground battle , is the biggest battle I have seen in the show since "Ambush" and The Battle of Christophsis . I really like the way the Jedis, Rex and Cody defended the Lurmen even against their choose. That been a good leader and that show how the Jedis are really the defenders of peace of the galaxy. Also I think Lok Durd is a cool addition to the SW universe and also a great weapon designer. Just look at that amazing new Separatist weapon1 That for sure one of the best Sep. weapons to date and is a really cool one . I think the base scene is good but nothing special. But maybe my favorite scene even if it last like 4 seconds is the final dialogue sequence. The way the Lurmen told his son at which price they must thanks the Republic and then that Venator fleet appear from the clouds of Maridun is just so climatic , I love it . At the end a really good episode and something that shows that this show keep better and better . Also I saw the episode previw for "Tresspass" and I need to said is the episode that get me most excited to date . Just looking at the story and that awesome preview it looks like one of the best episodes so far if not the best one (Also I really like the icy planets ). -
Wow! Now that you put them shoulder to shoulder they look almost the same and that means that the TLC have done a good job. Also I think the old SW toys were way better than the new ones (I am talking about Kenner and Hasbro not including lego here). The old playsets and vehicles were much more imaginative then the nowadays design. Also I think that is why lego is so great in SW cause the TLC can release a lot of really big ships and thing of the SW universe but then Hasbro just release repaints over repaints .

WOW!!! This just looks like one of the best GG I have seen in minifig scale . You really capture the feel of the GG in this MOC and looks like you get all his position combat angle right . Also very clever use of paper in the head and the BD head .

Original or New. Which do you prefer?
darkrebellion replied to Joey Lock's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, it all depends of which theme and your preference in my opinion. Some themes like Space maybe are better in the old days than the modern counter parts like MM just cause they have a certainlt charm that lack in some new design and models . But for other themes like SW the new look really benefit them even if some old models are still great (Most of them in my opinion) and sometimes the newcomers can´t beat the old ones in this themes like in the case of the new AT-AT. Just look at the old one and it looks exactly like in the movie and now is truly a masterpiece that the collectors really love (I myself own one ) and the new one is just ruined cause they sacrifice look over playability, something that I don´t exactly like . Also some new sets are more intended for kids in the actuality. I know in the 70s and 80s some sets are great but certainly lack of playability if a young child doesn´t have imagination. Nowadays many kids prefer thing that destroy or save each other, that the cause that many of the sets now have flick-fire missiles, sliding doors, secret compartments, etc. and that cause the world have changed so the TLC must change with it. Personally I would be neutral in this one cause I don´t exactly like the whole old sets or the whole new sets is just that they have their "pros" and "cons" . -
Another superb entry to your MOC Droids family . I really like this one and is the first lego Pit Droid that do justice to the actual thing. Congrats for the great work .

Thanks for this amazing review svelte_corps . I initially love this ship but this review make me want it even more . I think it is very good move of the TLC to release two extra exclusive sets apart from the January wave. So this will make many AFOLs possible to wait that amazing Summer sets that are so awesome . I like the brown and dark tan mix of the ship cause it makes it look more colorful. Also the Dooku minifig is in my opinion the best CW yet and that clever pilot droid could be a nice add to my collection. Also I really like the way the speeder can be stored in the back of the ship. Maybe the only "con" of the set could be the lack of sails but I don´t think that a really big issue .

Well, after building the 10143 Death Star II that my parents give me as my birthday gift back in November of the last year , I think in a topic (I finish building it before Christmas ) but I just decide to post it now for some reason . So the question is: How you build your giant sets (By giant set I mean sets of 2000+ pieces)? The question ask about what do you do? Build with partner, separete pices, tips, you like it or not, etc. From my part I have just build one giant set and it is the 10143 Death Star II (A set I really , even if some people consider it boring). Like my first really big set, I was really surprised by the amount of build space you need and also the number of pieces . I firstly decide to separete the pieces cause a set of this size really need some organization. Then I have an idea. I ask my dad to help me with the build so I don´t need to spend many time. The idea was that he help me building the "x2,x3,x4,x5..." sections so I don´t miss building experience but also I don´t get tire for the repetitive build . At last it work so I will try this methode again in my next giant build. So what do you think?

Well I simple don´t want to think what will be the end of the Captain Rex sculpture .
-
Hi, while I was looking at Youtube I found this video: Video To be honest I still can´t believe what they do to that magnificent sculpture . Why they didn´t simple give it to me ?

WOW!!! This is the best attempt in doing a Droideka , really good job hopeso009 . I think this is the pefect Droideka. It looks like perfect scale and I really like the little details. Deinitely your best minfigs MOC yet (But that doesn´t mean the others are non less awesome ).

Is cause the Hoth Rescue and Coruscant Taxi Speeder aren´t battlepack ideas , they are my whishes for the medium priced sets. The BPs are supposed to be the Ewok Catapult and the Imperial Speeder Bike .
-
Well after looking at most of the 2009 summer line by now I want to post my "wishes" . (I based this one the whole recent context of the line so I will put just things that can be possible ). So here are them: Ewok Catapult : $9.99 - RotJ The TLC can add a little modified Ewok Catapult slighty different from the one of the Battle of Endor set. Minifigs: Two Ewoks and two Endor Rebel Troopers. Extras: Two bows and two blasters. Imperial Speeder Bike : $9.99 - RotJ The TLC can add a speeder bike the same to that one that will come with the Battle of Endor set. Minifigs: Two Scout Troopers, one Stormtrooper and an Imperial Officer. Extras: Four blasters. Hoth Rescue : $19.99 - ESB The TLC can add a little open cave build of some white and light blue bricks. Also they can add some grabbing mechanism to grab Luke´s leg. Some spare bones pieces can be added in a little corner. Minifigs: Hoth Luke, Hoth Han, Wampa and two Taun Tauns. Extras: One lightsaber, one blaster and some spare bones. Coruscant Air Taxi : $19.99 - AotC The TLC could add a very good designed Coruscant Air Taxi in a sand green and bley color scheme. The car could have a little translucent hatch so the Taxi can stand without grabbing it. Also they can put a storage compartment. Minifigs: An Air Taxi Driver and a generic Coruscant Inhabitant. Extras: Some repair tools. Octupturra Tri-Droid : $39.99 - CW The TLC can make a really good Octupturra Tri-Droid of almost 50 cm tall if done well. This can include some flick-fire missiles and a moving feature. Minifigs: Two 501th Legion Clone Troopers, two SBD and a new Jedi that looks the same in CW and normal styles. Extras: One lightsaber, two blasters and a set of clone gear. Rebel Medium Transport : $59.99 - ESB The TLC can make a somewhat big RMT, more or less 40 cm long. The can make a detailed greebled and brick built hull. They can make some little interior and the hull can open the way the Venator does. Also this interior could be some bridge area, a cargo bay and some storage racks. Minifigs: Two Hoth Rebel Troopers, Capt. Carlist Rieekan, a Rebel Commander and two rebel troopers. Extras: Some tools and 6 blasters. I think all of this ideas can be done by the TLC and that they could make an awesome January wave.

Well I must say that the overall best boxes in my opinion are the SW ones . Almost every SW box is great but here is my favorites in order: 1- 10th Anniversary Box - This new box design is the best one I have ever seen. I think the TLC just get this ones perfect. Awesome retro look and also adds the clever shiny of the boxes. Simple awesome . 2- 30th Years of SW box - This is another awesome box design . The look of the SW title is just perfect and the whole box is beautifully designed. 3- Original box (That one with the OT minifigs logo ) - This one just looks perfect and also is a perfect start for the SW theme. 4- CW box - The shiny boxes really capture the look of thousands of kids... and AFOLs . So far this are my favorite boxes including the PM ones that are also great.

What other SW "Battle Packs" would you like to see?
darkrebellion replied to BearHeart's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Like I already mentioned, I really want the TLC change their battlepack "concept" . The PT and OT is full of small vehicles-speeders-laser cannons that can easily been included as the battlepack "extra" (With this I mean the other part of the set that isn´t a minifig ). The thing I now must want as a BP is a Gian Speeder set with 3-2 new Naboo Guards. I really hope the next battlepack is OT-related cause I am now tire of this CWmania the TLC have . Also I think the whole battlepack idea is to build whole armies so I don´t think the TLC would produce a BP about unique or very rare chracters. -
Well I can choose from this 2 sets but like the topic title I want to know which one I should buy? The sets are: 7166- Imperial Shuttle 7180- Old B-wing I really like both of them but I just can get one . If I can ask for something is maybe some quick response cause I don´t have so much time .
-
In this Pic you can see the minifigs of the Sep. Shuttle a lot better and now you can nearly see the face of Nute (Thought the Onaconda face looks clear ). I think Nute looks very promising but looks a bit white skinned to me . Also the "hat" looks somewhat strange.
-
Well this new pics reveal me some new things I can´t note by the first blurry pics: - First you can see that the new Sep. Shuttle now has a somewhat confirmed minifig count. I can see Nute Gunary, Onaconda Farr, 3 BD and a Pilot BD. Also you can see that it has a back boarding ramp . - The CIS Tank Droid has a new cool printed piece . That looks awesome and the jetpacks look a little bit new. - The Hoth Rebel Troopers have new googles or a new helmet .

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
darkrebellion replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, I just finish of see "Jedi Crash" and I need to admit this easily could be my favorite episode . Firstly the beginning is simply fantastic . What an awesome battle scene (First time in the series I see a real combat between the CIS and the Republic and the best pasrt is that the CIS seems to won ). The only think I don´t like from the beginning is that ugly CIS commander. What was the design team thinking when they create this "box" commander . Even with that "thing" that scene is totally great. Then the way they enter in the hyperspace is pretty ingenious. All that error scene and the nearly crash with that "sun" really rise the tension of the episode . The crash sequence is very good and way more realistic than that poorly executed crash in "Gungan General" . Then the quest for help . Every scene was well made and I really like some of them. My favorite part is this scene, when Rex was taking care of Anakin he was attacked by that monster thing and that was just amazing . What an awesome part. I really think Rex is going to get seriously injured by that fight but being the bad-megablocks he is, I just was sure he could survive . Then they met with the Lemur people in a philosophical way I can´t imagine from a show like this . The "talk" between Aayla and the Lemur Chief was just awesome. I think the Lemur Chief pooints of view are totally correct and I think that will influence the participation of Aayla in the next episode . Then the hilarious part of the episode. Beware! Lemur Droideka! . Simply hilarious. At the end the Lemur guy really demostrate the philosophy of the Lemur people cause he better stop that "animal" with a pacific confrontation . At the end a really good episode that must be my favorite to date. I am really looking foward to "Defenders of Peace" now . -
REVIEW: 8015 Assassin Droids Battle Pack
darkrebellion replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for another amazingly detailed review WhiteFang (At the moment I still can´t believe how you manage to put so many detail in your review for such a little small set, which I think is very unique and awesome ). This battlepack is one of the best in my opinion. The speede is the best battlepack vehicle ever released at my point of view and also I think this new Assassin Droids are way cooler than the normal ones. I think the silver ones look better at simple look but to me, like a proud owner of one of this sets , I can say that the Elite Assassin Droids look a lot better then the silver ones, trust me. Also I want to hear your opinion about your favorite. Clones or Assassins? Which is your favorite? -
Review: 8018 AAT (Armored Assault Tank)
darkrebellion replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well thanks for this amazing review Erdbeereis . I think your review is excellent and what I need to get convinced by this set (Almost always I don´t like so much a set from the first look I need a good review and good pics to convince me that it is actually very good ). This set looks incredibly great . The minifigs are very good but I need to admit this new Yoda still needs to grow a little more in me . The color scheme is very cool but I certainly hope they released the tan one . I think the box art looks somewhat cartoony too, just like the box art of the Comci-Con exclusive of the last year. I think the color issue is because it adds more detail to the set. Just imagine all the ship dark blue, bley and dark bley and you will find that it would looked really bad . -
Well like Tyrant pointed out I think this characters could really well be included . Just look how many other chracters had come out and that are totally less important than this characters. I think the kids will mainly look at it as what it is, a Battleship! I know the TLC will included flick-fire and many feautures like that to make the ship appeal to the kids. And after all this set is from the "Fans´ Choice Poll" so I think this is a set more intended for the AFOLs and fans than a wide audience .

What was the last movie you watched?
darkrebellion replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The Water Horse Actually when my sister rent this I think "She should rent something else, but whatever" but at the end I think well lets give a try to this movie and I end very pleasent . The story is pretty good and the way it was told is pretty ingenious. I think the acting is fair mainly by part of August (The little boy) but the acting of his mother is pretty poorly in my opinion. The Water Horse is pretty well made and the effects are very good (Obiously not like the effects of Rots or Transformers ) also they gave him a charmy personality so everything was good. My only "con" is that I would have prefered another ending. Something more like this: -
Well a long time ago there was a chat with the design team on FBTB.net where all the participants express what they want and in the end the designers got something like this: Minifigs: - Ackbar - Mon Mothma - Crix Madine - Mon Cal Soldier/Officer - Rebel Pilots/Crew - Endor Rebel Troopers Also they comment that maybe a full ship with a little interior with some mini ships around it would be the best option .
-
I think the minifig selection in the Y-wing continue to be bad even if the reasons are cause the kids like main characters. Here is my opinion respect this : I don´t think the kids really really want a lot of the same characters to be honest. If you look well when you are in any store that sells lego, you will find that the kids buy mainly big sets like the AT-TE or the RGS (Mainly cause birthday reasons or just cause they save) and at the time I doubt many young collectors still miss this minifigs. Then there is the parents factor and that parents want their kids to have the main characters, but if we keep in mind that many parents don´t even like SW than they follow a simple but yet effective factor and it is the next one: It looks cool so maybe he/she like it? And that it! they follow mainly the look of the set and the look of the minifigs and if you look at the clone pilots of the Y-wing in that episode they look totally better than this trio . And the third but non-less influent is that the kids that like SW follow the TV series all the way so at the moment I am sure they know that Anakin, Ahsoka and R2 aren´t the only Y-wing pilots in the galaxy. And cause this I think the TLC should have included other minifigs but I really think we will end up with them .
