  1. I have a long story based on this set. So I will resume it and post it right here: First back in 2003 I was walking at my local Wal-Mart with my family and then I wanted to take a look at the lego booth (This is one of the first sets I ever got I think third of fourth, so this get me back some good memories ). Then I was just starting in the hobby of collecting. At the end of the shelf there it was, the Ewok Attack set. I can´t resist such a nice little set so I bought it. At home I built it and enjoy it. Unfortunately, I lost the pieces . Then like three years ago I was at the home of my grandparents so my grandpa took me to a little SW shop in the city. There I re-found the Ewok Attack and just $10 more dollars than the retailer price tag . Obiously I bought it and this time like a more serious collector I took care of it and even now it is one of the pieces of my collection. Some time after this event I found the ewoks and the troopers minifigs in my pieces assortment and now I own 4 ewoks . OK, so long story, so now back on topic. In my opinion excellent set with some exclusive minifigs and the vehicles are pretty cool. Ohhh, how I miss the good days when the TLC release small vehicle sets .
  2. Wow, that battlepack looks cool . I like the new clone gear more than the grey ones this looks a lot more cloneish . The new gunner is a superb minifig and the whole set is a nice addition to the collection.
  3. Well here are my thoughs on every set so I can express better my opinion on each one: Battlepacks: Very good, both battlepacks have nice designs but for some reason I really like the design of the dropship. The minifigs are superb especially the new Rebel Troopers. Hailfire droid and spider droid: Another superb set. Even if many people feel the hailfire droid is very small I think is perfect cause it is supposed to be a small set. The minifigs are quite cool. Anakin starfighter: My favorite fighter to date. The design is pretty strong and the minifigs are cool. AT-AP: For some reason I love this walker. The design looks A LOT better in person and the overall size is perfect. The minifigs are cool but I would prefer two scout troopers. Rogue Shadow: This set is my favorite of the first wave. The design is extremely strong and the ship is cool anyway. The minifigs are GREAT all of them are awesome, I especially like the Starkiller minifig. Magnaguard starfighter: Very solid design and the actual ship is very cool but somewhat looks a bit boring. The minifgs are cool but not great I don´t like it very much . V-19 Torrent: Amazing design , one of the best I have seen and it actually WORKS not like the flick-fire missiles . The ship is cool but in the landing mode it doesn´t looks thats cool. The minifig is great but owning just clones is somewhat dissapointment . AT-TE: I don´t own it so I can´t comment much on it but for what I have seen is pretty cool. The lack of interior is an important issue so this just feels somewhat wrong cause nowadays the TLC put many details in the interior. The minifigs are cool but anything really special apart from Rex and Ashoka. Republic Attack Gunship: I actually don´t own this too so I can´t make a huge judge about it. Actually I don´t see any flaw on it and the minifigs are excellent with some exclusive ones and Plo Koon . The only thing that is extremely wrong with it is the expensive price. Droid Gunship: Excellent small set. The price is pretty fair and the design pretty flaw-less. The minifgs in the other hand are boring I would prefer a true droid pilot. Republic Fighter Tank: I own this set but I havent build it yet. It looks very promising but the minifigs are boring why they don´t put an special minifig with it . Twilight: Many people complain about this one but in my eyes is pretty acceptable and the design is good. The lack of interior is a big con and if the TLC have put the droid that Ahsoka cutted the head of in the movie this will be a big seller. Separatist Spider Droid: Good small set but the design is simply wrong and bad developed. The minifigs are nice but nothing that excites me very much. Death Star: AWESOME!!!!!, that is going to be my only word. So here are all my comments an why each sets done for me.
  4. Well I really like the new line but for some reason all of them feel very alike. Let´s take apart the color issue but why the TLC don´t release some more variety of ships of different eras so all the line will have diversity. Also, the minifgs in the small sets are really kind of boring. You only get real minifigs in the bigger sets which I don´t own and all of the small ones just get clones and droids. I need to admit the clones are very cool maybe my favorites of all the SW theme but own theme in each set kinda annoys me . The DS is simply one of the best sets in the history but I can´t afford it like many other AFOLs but maybe just maybe I get it for christmas but again I need to get the cheaper bigger sets first which are the AT-TE, RGS and the Twilight but maybe I will wait a few months when they go in clearence. Comparing this year with the last one I think the last one is far better in terms of everything. Price, minifigs, set, diversity, etc.
  5. Yeah I also got that C-3PO minifig with mine, it was an error by part of the TLC cause in some moment of the production they run out of the right color so they changed it but it seems like they prefer to keep it like that after all .
  6. Thanks for the news ADHO15 . With the despcriptions of the sets I notice a few new "features": - The RAS has dropping bombs under the wings and it doesn´t mention any carry compartment so I think it will be occupied by the flick fire feature. - The AAT still has the detachable speeder in its description so maybe after all it is true. - The new droid in the HDB are called Rocket Battledroids and the Hyena itself has a bomb dropping feature and a rocket feature. This new wave looks great with some new designs and finally the diversity of ships .
  7. In my opinion, this year is great but not over 2007 . To start Agents looks like a good line even if I don´t any of them so goodchoice TLC. City got a great year with the novelty of the Coast Guard line skipping the common police, firefighter and hospital theme. Castle got another great year with some new things but not such a big step. Batman is good and the new Harley Quinn minifig is a great addition to the line. Star Wars is great like always but to be honest I prefer the last year better for its diversity of sets. So here are my thoughts .
  8. I agree with you JimButcher, I also think the uniqueness is an important factor of the SW saga and in my opinion this new line has any of it . That maybe why I like the last year so much, cause the last year had very different vehicles of different eras and not just an army themed wave. The next year in contrast sounds very good with a perfect variety.
  9. I have just broken the hands of a pair of SBD in my whole collecting history . Unfortunately, they were both SBD of the old RGS whick broken and now they go for very high prices on eBay and Bricklink.
  10. Well this are some sad news . Even if there are a bit more than 10,000 minifigs they are not enough . Back in 2007, I was hoping to found a golden C-3PO in my sets but then nothing, next I think well lets try ebay and what? They went for over $100 , a price that is extremely over for just a minifig . And then if this promotion is not by pre-ordering the set I will finish again with nothing in my hands . This is somewhat an unfair promotion for us the AFOLs, why not simply the TLC put one of this minifigs with a pre-ordering promotion with a limit time of like 10 days. Then we all can have a chance of get one of those in our hands.
  11. Totally agree with you KimT .
  12. Wow , you have an impressive collection there, congrats Sweden . I think that have the privilage to display your collection to the general public (And secure of course cause the glass cases ) is something you must feel proud of . The statues are of your own cause the TLC sell them to you or they are just "share" by the TLC? I wish I can own one of those in my private collection . And, do you collect the exclusives give by the TLC? I am talking of the ones really "exclusive" items like the Comic-con exclusives or the Toy Fair exclusives.
  13. Well in my opinion this is a totally brain-less article . First of all, the minifig looks extremely generic and it actually doesn´t look like a resamblance of any real character . Next, why they are saying Lego promote terrorism , I think they are missing many other things like videogames or movies like Grevious said, the TLC doesn´t release battle themed sets for the same reasons even if they could be UCS oriented for an adult audience. Megablocks release more war themed models and they don´t get attention of anyone. I think this is just a way to dirt a good toy´s brand name to make periodism and another way to dirt Brickarms .
  14. Anyone has noted that this is a simple minifig (I mean a minifig ALONE with any pieces just its lightsaber) being given by the TLC but they aren´t supposed to have that rights cause they are keep by Hasbro.
  15. Yesterday, I saw "Downfall of a Droid" and I need to admit that it was unexpectedly incredible . To start the story begins pretty well with the Grevious squadron near to the Venator battalion and then and incredible dogfighting sequence that in my opinion is the best I have seen so far from the CW (I have seen the movie and first 6 episodes cause my country start to airing it later than in the US ). Then it is fairly predictible that R3 is betraying Anakin cause when he activate the IG units I said well he is fairly sure of what he is doing. But then, all the "errors" issue gives the episode sincere entertain to this episode. Again the relationship between Anakin and R3 is another key for the success of the show. So far this is my favorite episode even over "Rookies" .
  16. Maybe this sounds starnge , but after building my new Comic-Con exclusive I oredered some time ago I start to re-feeling the spark of the SW theme . Now I start to have mixed feeling about this summer wave, in one hand the sets are cool and have some great and neat features in another hand even if this is a year with lots of new ships I feel like they are very alike between them (I don´t mean the color issue) that the overall they look... well not that "different" . I am now waiting for the new wave that looks awesome (Maybe except by the RAS ) and the summer wave rumors has very different sets in them so next year sounds A LOT better than this one in my opinion .
  17. Awesome work Oky Wan Kenobi , it looks great by itself but I will add some constructive and positive critism . First I suggest you to change the white clothes that covers the ship motor and if you have enough pieces built a greebling steampunk motor so it will look more steampunky . Then, maybe if you can put some more greebling at the sides of the ship it will look better . And to end I suggest you to maybe but something more "bulky" behind the "web" sides so it wouldn´t look empty. So I finish with my suggestions and sorry if I sound very critic but this are only suggestions to make your MOC even better .
  18. Thanks for the aweosme review Ras , now this set looks even more awesome and must have. The TIE itself looks very well designed and if it can be get with that amazing chrome black Vader minifig , than it is going to rock .
  19. Wow , that simply a beautiful and awesome minifig , thanks Ras for the news . Well, if this minifig is not released in the US than I probably will buy it via eBay or Bricklink . After all this minifig looks so awesome, really congrats TLC .
  20. Thanks for the great review daoudbazaar . In my opinion the TLC design this one in a pretty "fast" and "easy" way. C´mon TLC this set is pretty <insert that tiresome argument> and in my opinion one of the worst (If not the worst) IJ set. The whole set doesn´t have anything good apart from the printed canopy and the german mechanic minifig and that in my opinion don´t justify such a high price .
  21. Thanks for all the replies to everyone and I understand your point . In my opinion the TLC have A LOT more things to release from what we have seen. For example, who doesn´t want a Rebel Medium Transport? I really want one but it is minor in the saga so here is another example, who doesn´t want a Geonosis Arena set? That for example is a BIG miss from the TLC alike the Royal Queen Ship, Solar Sailer, Ewok Village, Utapau Battle, Theed Balace, Otho Gungan, TIE Defender, Dexter Dinner, AT-OT, Jedi Temple, Coruscant Taxi, re-design Cloud Car, re-design Imperial Shuttle, re-design Jabba´s Palace, all are very important and the TLC has missed all of them . The good news is that the next year sounds (At least from the rumors) like one of the best TLC years yet .
  22. Well, to start I need to said that I love the new 2008 line-up so this is not like a thread of "hateness" to the actual line . I create this topic to see if anyone share my opinions in the next statement: Anyone feel like this new 200 line-up is a bit dissapointing in a way that it doesn´t feel very star-warsy? I feel this line miss the spark that always characterice the SW theme. All the sets are pretty cool and well designed but for some reason I don´t like them as much as the ones of the last year (And this i not a feel against new cartoony faces or something is to the whole sets ). Maybe is cause the ships look so alike to each other that the whole thing looks so "perfect", I mean the whole line is build up of the next colors: Red, white and bley, compared to the 2007 line that has plenty of shapes and colors. Also the minifigs are very repetitive (I am not refering to the number of clones in the sets issue), the smaller sets come with just a bunch of simple looking droids and some clones and the only variety is included in the 2 biggest sets. Here I need to exclude the new 10188 Death Star which in my opinion is awesome and let get more into the CW theme. The last issue I found is that even if this is a CW year I don´t share the thoughts of the TLC of just releasing sets form the movie, I am not refering to just OT sets but also some EU and PT sets too, just take a look at the TFU line it has A LOT of potential and the TLC just release one set . With this I finish my statement so, what do you think?
  23. Awesome work rriggs . The truck looks pretty functional and also well designed. Your design is a bit strange for a tow truck but this just adds more creative work to the MOC, so well done .
  24. I suggest you to check again if you put the technic gear in the correct way cause if not than maybe that the problem . Also, I don
  25. Well I think the mysterious phantom knight in Twilight Princess is actually Link of the OoT . This rumor has been surffing the internet for a while and this is the best option cause he somehow tells you he is an old hero and the only old "hero" is Link from OoT.
