Even though they beat the Packers, I'm still rooting for SF. It's about time they win a Super Bowl, and I definitely don't want to see the Pats in it again. So, fingers crossed for a SF-Denver Super Bowl.

Khrone! Good to see you're still around, even if Eric hasn't returned yet. I was thinking of sending him a Grogmas letter, but didn't think you'd see it. In any case, hope you can get back in the swing of things some time. Also, very impressive CallMePie, on the orc language, I thought you were using some kind of translator (I think there's one out there for Tolkein's Elvish).

What was that about politics leading nowhere, Pie? Interesting strategy, though. Yet another item that Sandy created that ends up almost nulling his own enemy strategy.

I agree with all of that. I'm all for using the new rule for blessed and transcended, too, but I'm also fine with just testing it out for poison for now.

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music

Hybros groans on the ground, ready to leap into another pair of attacks should he be revived, this time with the Twin Kunai. OOC: I'll be leaving for the Amazon rainforest on Saturday (4th), and will return on the 15th. Zepher can control Hybros' actions during that time.- 286 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
JimBee replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: You forgot to add Hybros' gold again. And I hate to say it, but the SOAH does not affect Lupine because it is darkness elemental. Because you autorolled, I did not have a chance to change weapons, so I think it would be most fair if you recalculated the damage, with Lupine having the blinded effect instead (Hybros would attack with Justice). Otherwise, you could just leave it and pick it up from here, since if Lupine is blinded the battle is close to being won anyway. Hybros hones in on Lupine from the front row with Justice.- 286 replies

"Grr... Boomingham, it is never good to let someone go like that. Trust me, I know from experience." Hybros could only watch as Pinkanema ran from the battle as he engaged in combat with the Changeling, who was constantly changing forms to try to get the upper hand. Hybros struck, but then was struck back again, falling to the floor. Quickly, he was raised again by the Roots of Life. Eager to finish his enemy, he swung at the Changeling from the front row with the Sword of Ancestral Hatred once more.- 286 replies

Hmm, yeah that's a good point actually. I guess if someone would want to go through the trouble and cost to use the ability that way, it could be called fair game. Okay, thanks for clarifying!

Heroica RPG - Tidings of Comfort and All That Sh*t
JimBee replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Hybros, even in the hit of battle, notices a slip of paper floating down. He reads it, and quickly writes a letter. Dear Jun Ji Pei, It has been a very long while, my friend, since we first met in the Pagoda with the 108 Stars in Xu. I must apologize again for our my failure to rescue you. If we had had any other option, we would have stayed with you. The enemies, however, were overwhelming, though I do regret not fighting to the death by your side. I have received word that Tesni, Tarn, and others rescued you from their lair beneath the mountains, and I am glad to that you are safe. Since then, I have been working closely with your family and associates on a number of quests. I have known Doctor Daneeka, who now works for the Great Guffington, for over a year now, and I value his knowledge and advice. I have recently saved another member of your family from the debacle in the Hovels, with an attempted coup taking the face of the Guild of Invision. Not to worry, we put a stop to them quickly while keeping a Tritech-crafted device from breaking along the way. I have attached a Copy of the Eubric Herald (consumable, gives transcended- and inspired-effects) so you can read about it. The technology of the Ji Pei is most impressive, and I have no guesses as to how they work. In fact, I am on a quest in Eubric right now delivering a top-secret device that mimics a Minstrel, from the Tritech Company to you. I have also made some new friends, and learned new skills. I have learned to dispatch my enemies more quickly than any I have seen in combat, but I still admire your balanced fighting style and mindset. I admit that I (there are several scribbled out words) envy this, and wish to someday learn from you and become even closer with the Ji Pei. And now I must tell you something Jun, something very important. This is a critical time for myself and my (more scribbled out words) people. I am not sure if you know, but there are others like me. I know it. And I believe that I know where they are hidden. If the powerful and advanced Ji Pei could help with finding them, using their influence and technology to aid me in this feat... the debt to be repaid would be immeasurable. We are more alike than you may think, Jun. The imps are a suppressed people, just as the Aoi are fighting threats from all sides. I have seen it both in Eubric and in Xu. If our people could somehow unite... our abilities would be unmatched. Think about this over Grogmas for me, Jun. As a last note, I hope you and your family are doing well. I have not heard of your mother, Lady Shanxian since I returned from Xu. Please send my regards as well. To the future, Hybros -
Bit of a random question on Marauders, does the skill "Two Are Better Than One" mean that one can upgrade a secondary weapon for free by the same amount of WP as the first one, or by only 1 WP? I'm thinking specifically about mythril/adamantite: if you imbued one of those into the primary weapon, would the free upgrade for the secondary weapon be 1 WP or 10/25 WP? Also, if you upgraded the primary weapon without making a purchase (i.e. Grating Stone), would that also affect the secondary? And I know it's a while before anyone can even think about becoming a Marauder, but I think it would be fair to allow the "Two Are Better Than One" skill to only include weapons that are equippable by the Marauder, That way they can't just abuse the power and upgrade their own weapon while upgrading someone else's for free. Not saying it would happen, but I'm not saying it can't either.

Finally slaying his enemy, Hybros turned his attention to the Changeling. "Now listen, this will not take long at all. It will be very quick and painful, heheh." Hybros leaped from the front row with Justice, trying to blind the criminal. If he were to be successful, he would switch to his Sword, but would repeat if not.- 286 replies

OOC: No, I rolled damage on that turn, so it was not thrown. The Bladerang is thrown, though. A good way to keep track of this is to strike the weapons through on the inventory when they're thrown.- 286 replies

"Heheheh... I did not realize it was so... delicate. Are your reproductive methods a secret? Where do you keep your eggs?" Hybros eyed Ellaria's dress inquisitively, as if to find a stash of them stored somewhere in the folds. Suddenly the Red Menace charged again, narrowly missing Hybros' head with his blade. "Ehehm, but yes, this can wait after the battle, hehe..."- 286 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
JimBee replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Hybros silently wonders who Alfendi is as he attacks the Red Menace once more from the front row, before leaping back to throw his Clock Cog at the Changeling. "While we wait for these... fools to fall, I, erm, must ask a question." Hybros dodged a swing from the Red Menace. "Ellaria, you were the one with the, erm, little human, yes? Oof..." He sidestepped a lunge from the Changeling, parried another, then shoved the shapeshifting enemy away. "How... erm... how are humans made?"- 286 replies

This. We've been over this a hundred times already, nobody is going to attack a target specifically for the hopes of gaining gold if ti threatens the success of the battle. Jess was attacking the OHKO-able enemies because that's how she would be most effective. And the amount of gold that Rogues gain on the side is not worth arguing about, besides that.

Kinto, sorry to be so nitpicky, but I noticed one more thing in the current battle of 91. When Hybros rolled Shield in Round 2, you didn't add 58 gold from Lupine as well (I steal from every enemy that drops gold = to their level), and you didn't add the gold to my inventory. These are just little things that you'll get used to as a QM eventually. Unfortunately newer QMs don't have things as nice and simple (and sometimes hideously unbalanced) as they once were in this game. You're doing great so far!

And the Packers pull off an amazing comeback for the close win... again! Matt Flynn is on fire, but I'm still hoping Rodgers will be back in time for the game against Chicago. Check this out.
