  4. Here is the official ruling. Posted here in the Rules topic for posterity. The way Free Hits work is that you take cumulative damage, not one by one. Why would the Iris Shield make that rule work differently?
  5. I'm not really sure what you're saying. Any physical damage dealt to you (14 in this case and not 34 because of SP), is reflected. 34 damage was not dealt to you, only 14 was. So 14 is reflected back. Not that it matters this round because of Aura, but my ruling stands unless Sandy says otherwise.

Lightning: kick start an engine or other device powered by electricity Fire: Start a fire, melt ice, vaporize water, burn trees Light: Brighten a room, solve a mirror puzzle (ala WBD's hotel quest), blind/distract someone Darkness: Obscure people or objects from being detected, take out a searchlight, confuse/distract someone I'd really like to see more of the Spellcasting trait being able to be used in quests. And I don't mean just "summon a giant boulder to crush the enemy" or "part the seas so we can walk to Dastan and avoid hiring a sailor and ship altogether" . I'm talking about creative use of the elements in a realistic way as alternatives to tasks and puzzles, such as using light in WBD's mirror puzzle. While it was a cool puzzle in itself, if the party had not obtained a certain reflective object needed for the puzzle, they could sub-in a Mage to cast a beam of light to solve it. As a QM I wouldn't expect that kind of thinking, but would allow it to work in certain situations. A non-gem example would be in 96 with the lock. I don't think Scuba planned for Atramor and Boomingham to try to pick the lock, but it was a good spur-of-the-moment solution that was creative and realistic.

  23. The newer heroes from 90 have been KO'd and missed experience from several battles now, I didn't see you in any hurry to get them up so they could get XP in that battle.
  24. This. As both a QM and player I just want overall participation. Roleplaying is nice, I understand that's not everyone's thing, but it is nice to have dialog other than "repeat". Active participation both in and out of battles and engagement in the quest are what I like to see. QMing is a lot of work and so is playing, and the game is no fun when people are just "along for the ride." Yeah, I think there are a lot of cloaks out there. More quivers would be very cool though!
