Jinnipher seemed annoyed that the black knight was still babbling in her ear. She sighed. "I did actually complete the quest, you twit. Meanwhile you got our employer captured and crippled and one of his court killed. Do the math, kid."
-
Hybros nodded to Natasha. "Perhaps if you stop in Eubric in the future... We have our fair share of political issues there, eheh." He turned back to Tarn. "I see... perhaps you are right. I will try to share this sentiment with my people when I return." Hybros looked around the room again. He had gotten so caught up in drinking and chatting with the guests that he had forgotten what they were here for. He sought out Guffington to ask what their next move was.

"By all means. Just be careful not to go bankrupt." She looked over and winked at Karie with a grin. Jinnipher shrugged. "I told him to quit while he still can. Seems to be better at spewing useless knowledge than actually completing quests." She ordered a mead and took a large gulp before replying again to Kheyli. "The name's Jinnipher. Another realm, huh? Well I've heard about the fey world, at least. I guess it's not that hard to believe when some fallen archangel took us to his world in the clouds. I wouldn't dare to think you don't have your own problems there, though."
-
"Well, some of us were killing a dragon. Others would rather get civilians killed in the process." She shot Lind a glare. "A fairy, huh? Not the one in Heroica, but it's not something you see every day. Zelphie was a skilled Artisan, and survived the purge to boot." Jinnipher realized that none of the heroes present were around before a few years ago. "Anyways, I hope you're as fit for battle as she was. Or, more competent than the last party I was in at least." Jinnipher rolled her eyes. "I didn't think jokes would go quite so high above your head." She smirked, then jingled her coin purse, weighing the options. "It's not a bad price, but I think I'll have to take a rain check. Some other time, perhaps."
-
"I've stuck to it longer than you've been alive. I think I'll be just fine."
-
Jinnipher narrowed her eyes. "Oh, it's you. I don't plan that far ahead. Maybe I'll use it, maybe I won't."
-
Jinnipher sits next to Karie. "Long time no see. Nice hair. How much for the shield?"
-
That would've been pretty cool, but the vision that Endgame did was more important for the quest at hand, I thought, and gave way more meaning to Jinnipher's parents (at least from her standpoint) than if it was skipped.

Hybros tries to appear to enjoy a Mulled Wine as he converses, but puckers at the taste. Hybros considered for a moment. "Well, that is the first time in a long time that I have heard of an organization with a mission that I could get on board with, heheh! You did help me find my people, and I am not friends with the Crown, Cold Circle, or Imperial Order. I wish you luck on your goals. If you need assistance, perhaps I can lend a hand in the future." "Hmm, I suppose they are like me. As you can see I have changed in appearance a bit..." he flashed his wings. "My people look similar. They are an old race, and some have been trapped in Azazot for a very long time. They know much about this world as it once was, but I fear that a lot has changed since then. They are living below ground as they were once forced to do, but long to return to the surface. I am not sure what to do... I fear they will face prejudice and many dangers there, and if they retaliate like they did with the Paladins... they will lose."

Little do we know the minifigure foreshadows Endgame's next story arch. The main villain: The Red One, Olegain Oppressor of Time and Space and Other Things.
-
Yeah if my suspicions are right, it'll be an easy choice for Hybros. Jinnipher is still brand new though. I wonder how newer characters will eventually fit into it. There isn't.

I thought the alliance names referred to the side of town each house was located on (and thus possibly sharing similar core ideals - see rich vs. poor or democracy vs. aristocracy... maybe). The Hinckwells, Ji Pei and Guild of Invision are on Sungold Hill and the Shadeaux, Bonapartes and Ziegfrieds are near Crescent Hill. It also makes sense because each of those, in order, are rivaling factions.
-
The Hall doors slam open and Jinnipher strides in with her usual air of overflowing confidence. As she makes her way to the questboard she bumps into a being whose face is shaded. "Watch where you're going." She shakes her head and mutters to herself as she inspects the quest listings. "Heroes nowadays can't even keep track of where they're standing." She signs up for Quest #141.

"Hm, I have met Hewyrt, as I am sure you already know, heheh. Maybe you can tell us what the bigger picture is? Or perhaps why you hope to achieve certain goals here? Perhaps it is too big of a question to answer to a mere fighter like me..." Hybros turned towards Tarn. "Hello Tarn, it is good to see you, heheh." He gave a genuine smile and quickly hugged the former hero back. "I never would have thought that I would hear rumors of you being in the high courts of faraway kingdoms. But I suppose it must be fitting for someone as noble as you, heh!" He looked around the room before returning his gaze to Tarn. "I have been on many quests, but most importantly I think, I have found my people and returned them to Olegaia where they belong. It is a long story, but I did it with the help of the Ji Pei and the Tritech, Guffington and Daneeka, and this Golden Crusade that Natasha here leads."

Well, not the greatest for a Knight or any build that I have in mind right now, but maybe they'll be more useful later. Those Purgers seem a bit more useful, albeit better for Warlen's build. Not that I'm complaining of course - the Brine Blade is awesome. But The Beheader should really be called "Vorpal Blade". Also, I edited my last post in 138 to give back borrowed items.
-
The editor was acting up and cut up my post, luckily I copied my work beforehand. I seem to be having the same problem as Flipz with that... but my full post should now be up above! That's a fair point. That's probably one thing that's pretty limited in LDD as well.
-
Thanks for a fantastic quest, Endgame. I'm glad I finally got to be on one of yours. I'll admit, I've always been a little skeptical because of the LDD images and huge story arcs, but neither of those bothered me at all on this one. You're an experienced QM and it shows when you go out of your way to interact with your players and have a relatable and readable quest. Like you said, we went through 40 pages in about as many days, which was sometimes hard to keep up with on a busy schedule but I enjoyed the fast pace overall. It could've easily been a 3 month quest but I'm glad it wasn't. I think your self-criticisms are pretty spot on. I'll reply to each individually because I've had similar thoughts. I think this was the main consequence of a fast pace. Not everyone got to post and really decide what to do. But then, would we really have known what to do/where to go? Going to the safehouse comes to mind; if we weren't railroaded then we'd just sit there arguing. Gabriel played an important role of guiding us, among other things which I'll touch on in a bit. I'm glad Karie and Jinnipher went into the fog - it offered some connection between them and gave us insight to what the fog actually did, firsthand. I was pleased that you included Jinnipher's parents in the hallucination - I had only had her mention it because it made sense and it was something to say to Faust, I suppose, but you took it to another level which was great. The Zodiac felt a bit random, but did add to the apocalyptic feel of Moone. Don't worry about it. I personally liked the result (if for selfish RP reasons ). The puzzle wouldn't have been terribly hard, either. This was going to be my main criticism. A lot of characters felt flat and like they were just added fluff. I especially think Sputnik could've used some more development or just screen time. I also think the elves could've been characterized as wiser. Faust was decent, but Eloen and Rydel were very human-like. Maybe my fault since I didn't offer any suggestions when you asked for them. Also, weird that none of the Moon Elves actually looked like it. This is me nitpicking, but I think that was a missed opportunity to create some unique minifigs. I'm also a little confused about just how limited the Moone Elves are. There has got to be more than a dozen of them, right? They're endangered but not on the brink of extinction. I dunno. Maybe they are. It just seemed like there weren't enough in the quest for taking place in Moone. Even if you say Vorpalis killed some of them. Gabriel was good, probably my favorite NPC on the quest. Cool and collected, but developed into something more. Some of the times when were supposed to notice something changing with him were a little forced, but other than that a really memorable character. The whole Charon side story was a little confusing, but I suppose you'll expand on that in future quests. I like to think that Immortalis is as prophetic as you make him out to be, but not a god. A, because Sandy has forbidden embodiment of gods in this game and B because the question of "is our fate really in our own hands?" is not answered. Be careful of how you characterize Immortalis, both in the quest and beyond the fourth wall. I do like the backstory behind the reason for Vorpalis coming to Moone in the first place, though. There was more to it than revenge, which was unique. Vorpalis was good villain for sure. Not completely unreasonable but there was definitely substance for Jinnipher to stand her ground against him as well as for Skrall to see reason to let him rule. I feel like I say this every time I analyze a quest, but there's more I want to say and I just don't remember it right now. The battles were fun. I realize that it must have been hard to strike a balance for a level-40 character and a level-1 character, but I think you did a really good job with that. Jinnipher felt rather useless when she was dealing tiny amounts of damage and basically just holding off the weaker enemies until one of the stronger characters could one-shot them. But the poison damage multipliers were a huge help, especially in the last battle. Loot was heavy. Jinnipher got two really good weapons and a decent artifact on her first quest (and first month of playing). I'm not complaining, but it's not bad to throw in even more consumables than you already did. If you didn't include the seven Vorpalis artifacts it would've been very balanced, but they're also very cool and some better than others. I had a lot of fun with PC-PC interaction. I think each of the five PCs had their moments with each other. I hope Jinnipher didn't steal the spotlight too much on account of well, almost everything that took place. I tried to take a step back when there wasn't a really good reason for her to be at the forefront, such as with the Zodiac or Charon. Like you said, Endgame, it was a lot for her first quest. I was glad for that but I hope it didn't seem overdone to outside observers. I'm interested in hearing other opinions on Jinnipher so far. Well said. It was fun to interact with Lind - to a certain extent. He was the perfect character to bring out the worst in Jinnipher but sometimes it was over the top and I had to just ignore Lind, which was out of character for Jinn. I'd say cut down on replying to everything, and like Endgame said don't constantly cut down what other players say. Seriously, it's a 21-year-old human. I'm not sure what your perception of a "real" adult is but that's not it. His backstory is good and maybe he knows a lot based on the culture/religion/scientology you made up for him, but when you can simply go "oh QM plot device or hidden piece of knowledge? Munchkin knows all!" it's pretty lame. That and the fact that he says things like "dibsies" and you don't differentiate him from your own posting makes him hard to believe and buy as a real character. Docken was kind of like this, but it wasn't over the top and didn't disrupt quests. It was comical because it was subtle, and if you really want to play Lind as a fourth wall-breaking character then I suggest you take a leaf from that book. That being said he did have some good moments with Charon and Immortalis that actually reinforced his backstory in a believable way. Skrall, Karie and Warlen were all good. Like I said before I think they each got a turn in the spotlight and I had fun interacting with each of them. I think Kint said something like this not too long ago, but it is kind of weird having both of one's PCs interact with the same PC of another player. Hybros sees Skrall as wise, cool and collected, and a good friend for helping him on 107, while Jinnipher will find it hard to forgive him for almost siding with Vorpalis. Yet, it's surprisingly easy to differentiate my own (player) view of Skrall from either of my PCs' and from each other's. Again, I feel like there's more to be said, but maybe other commentary will jog my memory. Suffice to say for now, I had a blast on 138. Thank you Endgame for hosting such a wonderful quest and thanks to the other players for making it enjoyable!

But they only boost power when the wearer him/herself KO's an opponent, right?
-
"Don't worry about it, I just wanted to see you squirm one last time." She smirked. She handed back the Phoenix Incense to Skrall. "That's quite the difference between that and stabbing him in the brain. And getting Faust captured and Merlow killed." She sighed, and started to walk away. She put a hand up as she did so in departure, and tossed the Military-grade Fire Bomb in Lind's direction. 'Hopefully' it wouldn't explode. OOC: Thanks for having me!
-
Jinnipher emerges from belowdecks with Gabriel to disembark the ship. She breathes in the Eubric air. "I'll also throw my name in the ring for those wings. Unless you really want to waste them on soon-to-be-out-of-a-job Lind here." She playfully pushed Gabriel. "I'm… sure I'll see you around. Karie, you might be a bitch sometimes but at least you're level-headed. Warlen, keep fighting the good fight. As for you two…" she looked at Lind and Skrall. "Please retire."

Jinnipher watches Moone disappear over the horizon as the ship sails south. She knew she would return one day. "You're a capable fighter. And... a good person. I wish I could say the same about some of the others in our party." She gave Lind and Skrall dirty looks, despite the former's sentiments.
-
Jinnipher embraces her parents one more time, and nods to Gabriel. "The job is finished. I'm ready to return to Eubric. The rest is up to the people here."
-
Jinnipher watched as the dragon and the archangel flew away. She scoffed. "No one tells me what to do. The fate of Eubric or anywhere else is in it's own hands. No god, real or not, can change that." Jinnipher embraces her mother, but looks over her shoulder at the disturbed Faust with concern. She then addresses Merlay and her father, standing determinedly. "Whatever you're going to rebuild, it had better be defensible. This country was helpless to fight against a dragon, and now more than ever the Moon Elves and the rest of the people on this island need unity. The time for pacifistic policies is over." She considered for a moment. "I... Karie was right before. I can no longer call this land my home. I would like to help rebuild, but... my calling is elsewhere. I don't know how to help lead a country, or train an army. Maybe somewhere down the road that could be true, but for now, I think I can best help Moone by fighting evils like Vorpalis around Olegaia. Mother, Father... I am sorry. I wish I could've seen you on better terms, but... I'll be back to visit this time. I promise." She looked her parents in the eyes, a little misty-eyed herself. Jinnipher nods, and gives a small wink. "I'm sure I'll see you around, sugar."

"Hm, oh yes, the Golden Warden! I did not realize she was with your organization, heheh. Yes, she was a great help down below Eubric. I would be interested in reading this tome myself. There was another ancient book that allowed me to free my people and bring them back to Olegaia. It is a shame that the likes of the Order Imperial would try to destroy such opportunities, eheh." Hybros shifted his wings, a little nervously. Natasha seemed to know a lot about him, and must have recognized him before he introduced himself. "The Tritech corporation would be good to ask about auto... ehem, machines. And I think one accompanied Deborah and I to the tunnels. We are going to Xu next, and there is a man there who invented the machines. Perhaps your friend would like to accompany us?"
