  1. Was that supposed to cheer me up? I appreciate the attempt, but it didn't work.
  2. Well, I had high hopes of winning, and I was pretty confident with my entries (which is super rare due to my low self esteem). I was pretty proud of myself, and even made place on my shelf for Eldorado Fortress. I really, really, REALLY want that set, but I could never afford it, and winning it would be a perfect Birthday present for me. But now my pride and confiddence are destroyed. My dreams shattered. My self-esteem lower than ever, and I just want to cry. I will never win, I'll never be good enough to ammount to anything. I'm a stupid naive loser, and I hate myself, my life and this rotten world, that always takes everything from me.
  3. Jesus Chrysler, how are we supposed to compete with such magnificence? The sheer scale, the rendering, the custom prints and sails! I think we already have a clear winner. It was a fun contet y'all, but @Danny_Boy4 here has beat us all, even before the start of voting. It's already over, I give up.
  4. Bruh, it's supposed to look like that, read the description.
  5. Funny you mention it, the boat is based on a Venetian Gondola I've built a while back in LDD. I just Phil Swifted it in half, and remade it into a more conventional rowboat:
  6. One thing you could do to improve the look, is to make the string on the crane hang down, instead of making it stiff and straight like that. I know how hard that can be in Bricklink studio, as the bending tool isn't the easiest to work with, but it's worth it..
  7. But where's the fun in using the boat? Besides, I promised @Lyichir I would make a curvy brick built vessel. ;)
  8. My last (propably) entry is a remake of another small, yet living in infamy, set: 6245, Harbour Sentry: There are so many things wrong here, which I decided to fix. First of all, the laws of Physics defying giant cannon on such a small boat. Second of all, why Lieutenant De Martinet, a high ranking officer of Imperial Army, and right hand man of Governor Broadside is rowing the boat by himself? Surely he would designate such menial task to a low ranking lackey. And he doesn't even have a place to store his personal weaponry, he had to clip his pistol on the cannon, and carry his cutlass on his lap. This is unacceptable! So, let us turn this dinky ol' dinghy, into a true, bona-fide gunboat! ARRRR, Now, that's more like it! A sturdy, yet smooth and curvy rowboat, with a small, yet still functional howitzer as a main weapon. There's plenty of space for De Martinet, one of his Marines, an amunition barrel, and any accessories and weapons our brave Lieutenant would need when patroling the docks of El Dorado Fortress! Hope you like it me mateys!
  9. Exactly! Thanks TheWatchman!
  10. Thanks, but I like it how it is. I made the joint Bley because TLG never made it in other colors, and it adds more colours other than black and white. As for the Sail, I can't use capes, it was made in LDD and rendered in Bricklink Studio. Besides, I don't think it's too big. It's a good size for catching a lot of wind. Thank You for an excellent review. Lets just say Rummy tied the musket to the mast, so that the powder charge in it won't get damp.
  11. Good job on emulating the style of 4+ Pirates!
  12. Thanks for your input Lyichir, but I'd rather keep the hull as it is. I have no idea how to modify it without completely rebuilding the ship from scratch, however I have another small vessel (a really small one in fact, and it's a remake of a classic set too) in plans, and there I want to employ a sexy, curved brick built hull.
  13. We have seen the return of infamous Captain Redbeard in Pirates of Barracuda Bay, but where was his loyal First Mate Rummy? Propably had too much rum again, got marooned on a ramshackle Renegade's Raft, and woke up in the middle of the ocean, fighting with a big shark, and an even bigger headache, just like before, in a set from 1991: But now, the raft have recieved a substantial update: Why just have a flimsy flag and a pair of paddles, when you can have a full Gaff rigged sail, a steering Oar, and fishing rod! Rummy was also wise enough to bring a compass and spyglass to know where he's going. A parrot also perched on the mast top, so old Rummy has someone to talk to, and there's a bottle of unknown contents. Might be drinking water, might be the remainder of his rum binge that ended in this misadventure, or something else? You decide! Overall, it's a simple redesign, of a simple old set. Hope you like it me Mateys!
  14. The Island looks very good! As of the raft, I would leave the flag, as there was still one in the original set, just on the pirate's musket. ;)
  15. Yes, I would. Even if I wasn't a participant, I would call for justice. It is imperative to me as a member of this site, that everyone here can have equal chances. And since I AM a contestant, I demand justice and equality with twice, nay, THRICE the conviction and fervor. If I, or other contestants can't win against one entry with the advantage of Eurobricks staff's favouritism, and free advertisement on the very frontpage of the site, then what is the point of entering the contest anyway? I hope other participants join me and also speak out about it. I'd like to know their opinion as well. Am I right? Or am I overreacting and making a fuss over nothing?
  16. You can never be sure about that. Besides, it is still unfair towards other participants.
  17. This particular contest isn't decided by selected members of a Jury, but a public vote. As such, a prestigious award of Frontpaging an entry can significantly sway the decision of the voters. As a member of the moderation team of Eurobricks, it is your duty and responsibility to pay attention to such things. Now it's up to you how to fix that. There is no way or point to compete against a frontpaged entry, so if you won't make amends to other participants, I will be forced to unfortunately quit the contest. Anyone is with me on this?
  18. This one looks very good! I love how clean and simple it is, just like a TLG set, but still with clever building techniques. The shape of the island is top-notch, and the litttle Imperial Outpost is also nicely done. I have no words of critique for this one, it's flawless, and I'd love to have it if it was a real set!
  19. Haven't you read the rules? The entries must be Pirate themed. As far as I'm aware, there were no cars during the Golden Age of Piracy. No crossovers with City! Or Creator for that matter.
  20. I Object, Protest and boycott this unfortunate decision, and here is why! I'm sorry, but this is a contest entry, and frontpaging a contest entry gives an unfair advantage over others. It will get unproportionally more views, it will get much more popular, and as a result it will propably get more votes. How others can even compete with a FRONTPAGED entry? This is unfair and I won't stand for this. Please revoke the Frontpage status for this entry, or Frontpage ALL the Entries, so everyone will have equal standing, and equal chance of winning. You can frontpage it after the contest, but NOT NOW, when every view, every positive comment counts to sway the voters in your favour. AND JUST TO BE CLEAR: If my entry was frontpaged, I would also ask to un-frontpage it.
  21. I'm glad you like it, and thank you for your advice. :)
  22. OMG, I love the new version! Very nicely done!
