-
excellent way to capture the Nocturnus atmosphere!

looks great and massive! I like the big battlements. A few tiles on the wall where the two caped knights are walking, might be a nice addition

The hunt for Elon Chorian The prosperity of Ondylion and the glory of Elon Chorian did not go unnoticed in the more eastern parts of Historica. Dark forces were not very pleased with this rise of power. Something had to be done. When hearing the titles of Elon – Hersir and Master Architect of Varholl, Round one Defender, Siege Master, Trade/Economic, Royal Architect, Admiral of the Mitgardian Fleet, Head Priest and Bard of Mitgardia – the solution seemed easy: cutt off the head of the snake. In the shadows of the Rakath Mountains a death squad was unleased with only one objective... While the friendly peasants of Ondylion were enjoying a nice summer day, they had no idea what danger was roaring through the lands. Suddenly a squad of green orcs arrives, breaking the house and terrorising the peasants. “lead us to Elon Chorian, or our big green friend will have your tasty husband for diner!'” Unfortunantly for the death squad, Mitgardian intelligence we're already aware of the coming danger. Knights of Ondylion arrive in shiny armour. The death squad is scattered and order is restored. Count Balthasar

I am a silent supporter of Nocturnus as well. Lurking in the shadows of the Rakath Mountains. In April I went from a part-time job to full-time+ job, which also keeps me travelling between two places. It leaves me with more money to buy lego, just no time to build anything with it . But I still watch the forum almost daily. I absolutely loved Waterdeep and Whirlwind assault! Two stunning entries. To bad Angeli missed that win on such few votes. And I was thrilled that Abyssian finally has a face! Definantly worthy of being the proud capital of Nocturnus. An old free build of mine still lies around waiting to be photoshopped. Hopefully I will finish that before winter. In the meanwhile, please keep on building! Count Balthasar -

I wouldn't use a conversion, like 1 minifig stands for 10 figs. Noboby looks at at a MOC and actually makes this conversion in his mind. Just keep it real. Historica is a fantasy world. We use the "Stand of Technique" of the middleages, but our world is a lot smaller then medieval Europe. Compared to medieval France our castles are small, towers are small, houses are small, armies are small. Even the capital city of Albion is just a tiny medieval village compared to medieval Paris. I think we should accept that Historica is a fantasy world that is thin populated. For us, an army of 100 men is a large army and Albion is a big city. It's not realistic to pretent that 100.000 people live in Albion. Also, if you see 100 minifigs in a MOC, I find it quite imposing. So my suggestion would be: don't convert the numbers of medieval europe to our world, but take realistic Historica numbers and talk about a battle between an army of 100 men against an army of 150 men when writing your lore :) -
Those forced perspectives are just perfect. Magnificent work!

haha, what a fun build this is! Many lovely features, very nice job!

I remember having this little Lego Pirate comic book, many years ago. I was going nuts with it. Must have read it a millions times. If your story would have been available as a book, back then...I would probably have killed for it and read it a billion times.

Incredible statue. Just perfect.

Really good indeed! So many things to like here, waterfall, river, wooden roofs, brickbuild doors, stonework. Nice job man!
-
great SNOT wall. Works excellent with those battlements. Normally, when using tiles to flatten it, you always see the groove of the tile. This is an nice way to avoid that. Also, nice stonework.

Ah, you notice it too. I thought that I was checking the forum to often. It feels like the calm before the storm. Any reports from your spies? They must be either searching for a crystal or planning an attack on Nocturnus... Or they are mostly chatting on a secret forum like we do -
Very nice! Again :-) I assume the style is inspired by Derfel's Leodasham Manor? Love your work, keep 'm coming!

You're city is growing fast. That pool looks inspiring!

Very intriguing. Love those arches. Take your time, you still have to 12th of may. I wonder what you,ll come up with! -
I like the SNOT-floor and dirt hole in the middle. But you should take some more time to do the background removal.
-
Great work! This isn't what I was expecting when reading 'my first castle'.. Everything looks excellent: castle exterior, all the many interiors, landscaping etc. I hope you stay a while in the castle-scene!
-
Making bare ground more interesting usualy comes down to using à lot of plates. Preferably smaller ones, like 1x2. Take à look at derfels guide and SoTs creations on how they have done it. Also some foilage would be appropriate, trees, plants. You could even use some snow. Your challenge entry already had landscaping then this one. Lets see what you can come up with!
