  1. the counter weight should also move back and forth, adds complexity I know
  2. You would make more money if you sold your items individually. - but that would probably take you years. personally I would do the following... sell off rare parts with common parts in bulk lots.. maybe all the black soft axles together.. sell older sets as complete units.. take the time to photograph and describe these well to increase your chances of a sale then bulk lot the rest, bulk lot instruction books as well put reserves on the rarer stuff but be realistic or they wont sell at all. good luck and save at least one set :)
  3. love the video
  4. Hi Sariel, yet another great review ! Are they more controllable? or is it quite hard to quantify
  5. I will update my WIP topic soon, but for now this is just an example of a teaser photograph
  6. here is a few of mine I only use a camera phone and paint so don't expect too much!!
  7. good luck with that! I'm building a time machine
  8. @gti180 the jet engines are gonna be custom made using Autocad 3d printer technology and will run on a Lego buggy motor, weight is gonna be a crucial factor for the design process O I meant an actual RC jet engine... you got no chance using anything other than gravity for making this fly if you are only going to use Lego motors. (not sure if falling from height counts as flying)
  9. wonder what the calculations are for something like this, everyone says you need to reduce weight and increase power but reducing weight means the scale has to come down limiting the power you can apply. what if it was scaled up and used a system similar to the first planes to ever fly (wooden frame and fabric skin) if the scale was very large say 1;5 you would then be able to increase the power to weight ten fold by using an RC jet engine or something.
  10. Seen the film last night some great ideas for mocs in there, really liked the hamster wheel platform thingy! good luck with the ripsaw
  11. its bordering on robbery!! if you think a price is too high just don't buy, that way the seller is stuck with parts he/she cant sell then the price comes down. Almost every Lego part has an alternative anyway!
  12. the round windows and jet inlets will be what sets the scale I would imagine. the inlets could be solved by using wheel hubs, but the windows will be more difficult. if you want the model to be realistic I would make solving both of these the top priority.
  13. might not be what your after but the old block engines spring to mind, these are pretty hard to build studless
  14. Looks great and another great review. I can see these dying out though cos TLC must be thinking along the same lines with its control systems.
  15. think Lego make more than enough tires... my house looks like a tyre fitting shop for small people!!
  16. great work...subscribed! Paddy McMog - that's tickled me
  17. the idea behind coupling is to be able to control the up and down movement of each attachment via the Lego RC controller. - both auto switches are controlled using the compressor motors.
  18. the chassis is quite modular and can be broken down by cab, compressor units, front axle and rear axle - instructions shoudnt be difficult with those bits, what would be hard is the pipe work. if you look at this picture you can see its a mess!
  19. its work in progress so feel free to keep the ideas coming.
