    Hi Pat, yeah please do I would like to see your design for the fifth wheel. the trailer wont tip instead it will self unload using a system of tracks in the tippers bed, Because the trailer is large its easier to design it without a tipping function. im not sure if the trailer will attach to the fifth wheel or be a draw bar type that connects to the back yet still trying to work out the best way of doing that part.

    Thank you. all 4 wheels have an independent set up with stabilizing bars, I will get photo of the underneath later. its probably better to think of the real one as a Unimog more than a truck, MAN don't produce this truck, instead its converted by AMAG into something that has a more utility type form. I'm trying to make it look something like this...

    Yeah its powered by two XL motors, one dives the rear diff and the other drives the front diff and the fake six cylinder engine. Servo for steering and the compressors are driven be two large motors. here is a quick video of it driving

    Hi all, some of you may have seen this already, it had been added to the bottom of an old thread a few months ago. The truck is very close to being finished now and its huge! the plumbing has taken me an age to sort because its running with two compressors and six switches!! Couple of jobs left to do, need a good fifth wheel design and the rear hitch needs better hook up points for attachments - if anyone has any ideas it would be great if you could let me know. the trailer is a six wheeled monster as well which should be able to carry a load of around 7kg but its still along way off being completed at the moment.

    Might sound like a stupid thing to say but.. reading the above sounds like this is no longer a hobby for you. I'm sure you started with Lego because it was fun, i hope you find away to get the fun back or you may end up giving this up which non of us want to happen.

    hi Milan, this what I'm trying to get at,if there is clear rules somewhere i can look at exploiting them. a bit like the engineers do in formula one if that makes sense. The fake engine for example if it had only one piston it would be less heavy and cause less friction on the drive chain than that of a six pot engine. or maybe the suspension could be based on chassis flex and not sprung like most truck trials are.

    I'm not interested in entering it in competition i just like the thought of trying to make something that pushes the rules a little. Is there any rules that are the same for all competitions? from the ones I've seen they all seem to follow a similar build process.. fake engine, steering, use of wheels etc. with that in mind, say i built a tracked truck that. It wouldn't be considered a truck trial because of the lack of tires ??

    Hi All, Was just wondering what the rules are for Lego truck trials.. I've found some info on the net last year that outlined a few but I've not been able to find the site since. would like to know.. which motors can be used which tires can be used fake engine and how it needs to be connected to the drive chain steering gear box does it need to be a truck can it be controlled by mindstorms or the sbrick ??? thanks in advance

    dont hit anything with a hammer! lego is designed to be pushed together by hand.

    yeah the cab looks even better now, I might try and work that design into a MOC I've wanted to make for some time that will be based on the unimog size tires. The cab you have made gives me a really good starting point.... just need to increase its size a little bit.
