  1. Nice fire damage on the exterior, and I like the fridges on the first floor, too. The details make this interesting; great work!
  2. StrOngbad, Thanks for the info about the Dom and Reichstag inside the LEGO Berlin store. They sound like wonderful souvenirs! Is the place like a theme park or more like a store? Is there a place to eat inside the store? Looking forward to seeing it!
  3. Wow! That is a lot of action before brick failure occurred! My fingers and hands are incredibly sore just from reading about this experiment. Sometimes my hands cramp from just an hour or two of hard pay with my bricks. Maybe I need to do more planning before crunching these little suckers together....and then having to pull them apart so often. (Someone's advice on this forum to avoid lotion and hand crime when working with bricks and raw, sore fingers is great advice as well.)
  4. Wow! These wheels look hotttttt...so makes me want to start collecting Fabu......NONONONONO!
  5. Oky, Sounds like the feud between the Hatfields and McCoys in West Virginia...been running so many years that they can't remember why it began. Nice work!
  6. While we are on the topic of LEGO in Germany, has anyone been to the LEGO themed store in central Berlin? What did you think of it? We hope to visit there soon. Thanks! The info about where to purchase LEGO in Germany is also helpful. Any tips for Swiss stores as well in the Luzern and Zurich areas? Cheers!
  7. I purchased the Imperial Hotel and can't wait for a rainy day to build it. I love the architecture series because there are so many wonderful historical buildings that need to be built. And these sets give us a lot of ideas about how to do it. The packaging is really first class, too. Granted some have better design than others, but at least TLG is trying and providing some variety from different countries. Architecture is such a fascinating subject that it makes us dream of what is possible.....what can we build next. That is the legacy of LEGO.
  8. Wow! This sounds like fun! Sorry that we are on the wrong continent on Saturday...have a great time with all the toys!
  9. Cool! Raleigh, NC, US. Thanks!
  10. Congratulations! Nice replica! Love the awnings, which must have been useful with the snow in Colorado. It is wonderful that it is on display!
  11. Wow! So many cool features...the white and sand green awnings and flower boxes work so well. Your furniture is really sweet. Inside is well thought out. Exterior has some great trim detail. Dark blue works well as a residential color. Love the rooftop garden....really want to sit in those chairs with a cold drink....now! Two very cool MOC's!
  12. WOW! These little guys are just adorable! Makes you want to pick them up and hug them! Your too real box makes us all want to buy these guys. Thanks for working with Dupes, some of my favorite friends. Puleeeze do some more, okay!
  13. LT, Like your signs and the proportions of everything. Yup, a Tim Horton's coffee shop would add a lot.
  14. 4. Pilili Cuicui-1 5. Cecilie-1 7. Rufus Pandora-1 8. Kristel-1 9. Purpearjellyblob-1
  15. LC: Isham knows his stuff for sure. I have been a fan of his film scores for decades. Cheers!
  16. Welcome to the forum! While Peppermint lives in Wales now, some of my family came from there just 300 years ago! Sounds as if you are having too much fun with LEGO! Join the crowd!
  17. Aanchir, Good points....theme parks definitely are designed for escapism, so this sounds right on. And the rooms described and shown in the article do look so cool! Does anyone know if the FL Legoland Park has areas for City or Friends themes? Glad they are planning a hotel for FL, too, because staying overnight in the Park does make a more lasting experience. I had forgotten that I took my almost 3 year old son to Disney Paris when the Park was a couple of years old, and we stayed in an Indian themed room sleeping in bunk beds. As an intl marketing professor, I wanted to see how they adapted the US Disney park to the French market. My main memory besides the high prices (I shared a kids meal hot dog and drink with my son for lunch and paid over 150USD for one night back in 1990), was that there was no dry and warm place to stand in line for rides in the cold late November rain. Let's hope that LEGOLAND does a better job of making guests feel comfortable, warm or cool and dry.
  18. I was pulling for light yellow, one of my favorite colors. But will settle for bright light yellow as long as it is anything but the old YELLOW.This color is used in the plates under and between the floors of the pink (4996) and med blue duplo playhouses (9225). I do so hope that they will bring back light yellow in a huge way as it is one of the most interesting colors LEGO makes, and I happen to own quite a few....but never enough!
  19. Argo score by Alexandre Desplat.
  20. DD, Thanks! Not sure what the plural of Prius is, but you answered the question! Have you heard about anyone doing a Prius model? Thanks!
  21. CopMike: Heehaw again! Sad to say I live in a country where the Ford F150 pickup has outsold autos in many years. Now I understand why! (And it explains why the US average family size is about 2 people now...or so. That is all that fit... considering our size... in a Ford F150.) All: We finally broke down and bought two Toyota Prii/Priuses because we are tired of supporting the oil companies both domestic and foreign. So when are we gonna get a Lego Prius model? That's what I wanna know...
  22. Joker1: The Hugh Laurie clip is a scream! He really knows how to ham it up! All: I heehawed (yup we do that in the States when we laugh too hard...sounds a bit like a donkey having a good time) reading each post. it was a brilliant April Fools Day joke that brought out the best and the worst in many folks. Artwork was priceless!
  23. DD, that makes sense as the planning had to have been done several years ago....long before Friends arrived. Still for around 200usd per night with tax, it would be great to have more options for girls of all ages. That said, the rooms do sound fabulous. And we have yet to visit any Legoland, so this one will have to go on our list even though it is 2500 miles from the East Coast. Maybe there can be an EB/AB event there next year. Cheers!
  24. Toth, Great photo...and my family agrees with you! When you visit the US, we must take you to a restaurant called Golden Corral, where many of our fellow citizens look and eat like Sumo wrestlers. I can't bear to go there because it is just too disgusting watching gluttons eat like...well gluttons...at the buffets piled high with unhealthy dishes. Food is too cheap here, and unlimited servings at the many all you can eat restaurants make it too easy to overeat. Portion size here is also way out of control with an average serving being enough to feed two or three adults. And please don't get me started on what they feed the children here...that truly makes me ill.
  25. Just saw this article on NBCNews.com and thought you'd find it interesting. http://www.nbcnews.com/travel/legoland-hotel-clicks-open-1C9221379 Sounds like a really cool hotel...if you are a boy. My question is if a girl does not want to stay in a knight, pirate or adventurer room, why is there no Friends or City room? Do they really intend to ignore half of the market that is female? Hmmmm....
