Discipline can be tough.
-
All the rooms of my house have some LEGO models displayed. So no, I'm not paranoid what other visitors think. Same for the toy stores, although that took some time to get used to. They will always ask If It's a present to wrap and I answer "No" with a kind smille. Male sellers tend not to care as much as female sellers from my experience. Female sellers tend to giggle or frown upon me.

I think It's good that you keep some space left in your field and great details without being overwhelming.

Amazing Diorama. -
Jabba's Palace is stopping production in 2014
Orange Leader replied to Debricker's topic in LEGO Star Wars
A tip for TLG to avoid circumstances like that of the Jabba's Palace set: any resemblance is purely coincidental. -
I don't know If It has been asked before, but could It be that TLG took inspiration from the Ugokin models from the Neo Classic Space project? The colour scheme and the extraterrestial bug like vehicles resembles a bit with these sets. I bought the Space Swarmer a few days ago and I really like It! I think I start to love this theme.

A shame I did'nt notice this MOC before. I really like your rendition of the original trading post, with all those details and not too bright colour schemes. The Rebeltrooper heads for the soldiers is a great detail.

Great use of the Technic pin bars, overall very good looking futuristic crane.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Orange Leader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You are ofcourse entitled to your opinion, but calling Blu-ray the biggest rip off since Beta is way out of the question, just because you don't have a HD television to experience It's potential. And no one forces you to buy your DVD collection to Blu-ray, since there are Blu-ray players that just plays DVD's and upscale them properly to HD. LotR (and the upcoming The Hobbit) are a treat to my eyes with Blu-ray on HD television.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Orange Leader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Why are excisting minifigures such a problem for a probably huge set like Orctanc? I don't care If I get enother Saruman with It, I want the building Itself. Minifigures are nice and good, but the main set is what I'm looking most forward too.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Orange Leader replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
All those new Lotr sets are beautiful. But my mouth felt open saying "Holy shit" out loud when I spotted the new arches in The council of Elrond set. I can't wait to see more sets in the future with different colours of this arch brick. Gothic themed building will be much more fun and cool with those parts.- 7,499 replies

The $ and € comparisson is indeed an odd one. However, $19,95 sets in the USA are always about €26,95 here in Europe at retail. If the Coach (a must have for me) is €49,95 and IMO very expensive compared to the amount of parts It will have, I'll skip It. For me, It's that simple. With that said, I'm waiting for this cool theme to hit the shelves in EU and see the prices for my self. :)

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Orange Leader replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the link. I already have the last AT-TE, Gunship and the Sail Barge and I think they are very cool sets If you don't have them yet or like Star Wars at all. The Geonosis Battle is nice to have for a non CW style Yoda and as a parts pack for me and It's probably the only set on this lineup I'm going to get for now. -
Good choice of colours, a very nice backyard scene.

I've read that you can use nail varnish remover on chrome parts to remove the chrome so it becomes white. You can try that out on the chrome knives. I unfortunaetly don't know the source of this info and I could be wrong, can't find It with google. Also It's not very purist, but that's your decision.
-
I disagree, I thought It was not bad and entertaining to build, even with the stickers that I 'can' apply. It also captures the whole scene perfectly (except for the treasure chest, but that's no problem for me). I'm very satisfied with this set, as a build and as parts pack.

Thanks for the review, shows alot. This comes in handy, since I still don't have an A-Wing. And I'm glad It's LEGO, so I don't have to build the flick fire missle. :)

When this set came out and a friend owned It, I thought It was a cool set. Now looking back at It in the present, I'm glad I saved up money to buy the Fire Breathing Fortress back then.

Raised baseplates, Crazy valuation...
Orange Leader replied to The Joker1's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not so fond on raised baseplates either. But I think they can be useful, just like any brick that is not much welcomed by AFOLs. I think It's a nice challenge to build something with a RB and still having that AFOL quality. -
Set Falling apart while trying to build.
Orange Leader replied to Savage Oppress's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thirded. Aside that, I can't really remember what other set kept falling apart. -
Very cute build. I like the playability factor and the tree on top is just great.

I build this around June 2012 and since then I had no time or proper space to photograph this vignette. I'm happy with this kitchen and the colours, I think Dark Flesh/Nougat is a very moody and warm colour for MOCs like this one or anything that's cosy, like the Bagend set from The Hobbit. Just a test shot, would have been fun to see a real brickmovie out of this.
