LEGO LotR - general discussion

This is not the news you're looking for, move along. -
What was the last movie you watched?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The Hangover 3. Never saw the 2nd one but finally watched the 3rd after having it on my DVR for months. Entertaining but nothing new. -

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I haven't felt a good vibe either with the Hobbit movies. I absolutely loved the LotR movies, to the point that I would ride a train for an hour and a half to see the movies in theater. For Hobbit, I was unable to watch the 1st movie in theater and watching it at home put me to sleep and I had no desire to watch the 2nd movie until it was playing on Sky. I'll most likely end up watching the 3rd movie on Sky as well. As far as LEGO goes, the only Middle Earth sets I own are from LotR and at this point I'm happy that we did get the 2 waves of LotR that we did get and disappointed that we probably won't get more. -

UCS Falcon needs a whopping 60 of those levers. With the lever appearing in the Microfighters AT-AT, the Bricklink price should drop a bit. -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah right, you're talking about Disney that prematurely ended TCW, had they had bigger fish to fry, they wouldn't have ended a cartoon/animated series that was no where near the end. They are in complete control of their new animated series, Rebels. Disney is all about their brand name. If they weren't, they wouldn't worry about putting their name on anything Star Wars. In regards to Anakins Custom Jedi Starfighter, I'm interested to see if the minifigs will be in TCW style. I love TCW but I'm hoping for a non-TCW Ventress minifig. -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Since you didn't answer my question, I'll make a tentative guess that you weren't a fan of TCW. Other than the images for Rebels, I know nothing about the show, let alone find anything to love about it. I do find the AT-DP very interesting and am planning on making it my first LEGO purchase of Star Wars Rebels. -

Quick question, were you a fan of TCW? Just wondering. Personally I'd take Ahsoka over the Graffiti artist wearing pink armor 365 days a year. Rebels has a long way to go. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the show makes it 4 seasons. -

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I fully understand that many of the minifigs in the sets will change from how they appear in these preliminary photos to the final boxes. I was commenting on how the actual sets look. None of the sets look like the builds are complex, they look basic. -

Seeing all the picture in clearer quality has made very excited. I know things are still preliminary but now we have a good idea of how the sets will look. With that said, the majority of the sets look like the builds are basic. I'm having a hard time thinking of how to explain it but something seems off. -

I really wish the picture of Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter was clearer. For the price, it's one of the larger sets of this wave but all we got is a small pic of the box. Also, I know this is a prelim picture but wasn't the Rebels Stormtrooper helmet only going to be used on the box of Rebels sets? It is a prelim though so I'm expecting some changes. -

I believe he's pointing out that the Clone torsos with Stormtrooper helmet are placeholders, not that this possibly a Clone or Republic set. -

Pleasantly surprised by Divergent. Had absolutely no expectations going into it. -
2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
From the above description, it makes me think that there is potential for multiple waves. Of course that could be dependent on how well this initial wave sells. -
My kids and I had just gotten into LEGO at the time and were into Star Wars and Castle. I did purchase Pirates sets the year that LEGO S@H had sets at 50% off. That deal was too good to pass up considering I liked Pirates but was reluctant to dive into another theme. For now, my Pirates sets are sitting in storage with 75% of the family LEGO collection.

10227 - B-Wing 1487 pcs - $199.99 10236 - Ewok Village 1990 pcs - $249.99 10240 - Red Five X-Wing 1559 pcs - $199.99 75060 - Slave I 1996 pcs - $???.?? That price is not confirmed. It's just speculation from the initial post after the pics/video were posted. Based on what the recents UCS sets went for, I'm betting $249.99 for Slave I. -

The UCS Slave I delivered on the hype. With the piece count, it feels like a $249.99 set. I hope I'm wrong and it's $199.99 though. -

Thanks for the response. I wasn't paying too close attention to the release of that set and realized it was released until almost 3 weeks later. I'd live to get at regular price. -

Has it been confirmed anywhere that the Exo Suit will become available again in Sep as stated earlier? Just wondering as it appears to be "sold out" on all of the S@H sites. The only thing keeping me hopeful is the "temporarily out of stock" note on the US and CAN S@H sites. -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've stopped trying to make sense of anything, it makes life so much easier. LEGO surprised us with Darth Revan after the EU was kicked to the curb. I think that this just shows us that LEGO isn't under Disney's restrictions to storytelling. It would make sense since kids don't understand all of this. They just know that there's movies and cartoons. When they see these things, it becomes their reality. It just can't all be deleted. -

There were definitely ARC-170s in TCW. I wish we would have seen more of it but it was there.
