Well this TRU has 3 series stocked at once.

I don't thing you can go wrong with either the X-Wing or Tie Fighter. Both are classic OT ships that everyone knows and loves. The question you have to ask yourself, are you a fan of the Republic or the Empire. Personally, I always want the Rebels to win so I would go with the X-Wing. I mean come on, Luke piloted that ship and destroyed the Death Star. Now if you're a big LotR fan and favor that over Star Wars, I would save up my money and wait until the LotR sets are released. Bottom line, you can't lose with whatever decision you make.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'll have to re-watch that part of the film but I was under the impression that Obi-Wan sent a distress on the radio (maybe republic frequencies) and Bail Organa happened to answer him. -
I always considered it a ROTS fig and I just realized that Bricklink has the set as well as the minifigs classified as from Clone Wars.

Here's a friendly suggestion. Since you have nothing to add to this discussion, quit wasting our time and find a discussion that you can contribute to. If you look, I'm sure you'll find that you have plenty of options. As others have already touched on, I feel that LEGO has done a good job of putting out sets that different fans will like. I know it's not practical for them to think every fan will love every set but there's a lot of great variety in the line right now.

Do you prefer Battle Packs to have 1 or 2 factions?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to madoka's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I completely agree with you. Make army building battle packs with minifigs that people would want to army build. Imagine if LEGO did single faction battle packs again this year. They would have the same problem with the Commando Droids as they did with the Assassin Droids. While a pretty decent minifig, I wouldn't want to army build them. There's always a small group of them running around on the show, not an army of them. -
What's Your Favorite Star Wars the Clone Wars Set?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to North Lego Star's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There's a good number of minifigs in this set. This would have been a good opportunity for more clones. I think 2-3 would be a good amount. -
I believe the Barriss minifig is the one that came with the Swamp Speeder. Barriss Offee

Impressive castle. Really great job. The sheer size is pretty awesome. Everything fits well together, the village, the crops, the stream, the different animals.

What's Your Favorite Star Wars the Clone Wars Set?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to North Lego Star's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Easy choice for me. I'll be the third person in a row to say 7676 Republic Gunship. This set is outstanding and I'm glad I was able to pick one up. -
I'll put it out there and hang myself. The Clone Wars line is designed to look like the characters in the show. This is what the current fans of LEGO and Star Wars are growing up on. I grew up on Episodes IV thru VI and I absolutely love those episodes. I watched The Empire Strikes Back more times than I can count and it is my favorite episode. My children of 7 & 9 grew up watching the films in order. Neither one really care for the OT. If asked to pick one Star Wars movie to watch, they'll pick Episode III every time. Now let me hang myself. Despite growing up on the OT, I really like the PT. The stories and acting aren't the best but I like the overall stories. My family, myself included are fans of The Clone Wars series. The way I see it, TCW is keeping SW alive for me. I don't think we'll ever see new Star Wars films on the big screen and watching TCW at least gives me more stories. I read a ton of the books in my early 20s but it's been so long I've forgotten them all. Back on topic. If TCW never came out and LEGO never made all those Clone Wars SW sets that everyone here seems to hate, I really doubt the LEGO Star Wars theme would still be around today. And if it were still around, I couldn't see any more than 3-5 sets a year. TCW saved LEGO Star Wars. Myself and my kids would never have gotten into LEGO & Star Wars without it. I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fans of the heads on TCW minifigs but I still like them. I don't mind the way the head looks on the Clones but on the other hand, I think the Mandalorian heads are hideous. You know what though, since my kids and I have gotten into LEGO, we have spent more money than I'd care to admit on the SW theme. And when TCW cartoon finally ends, I bet the number of sets released each year will go down considerably.

Do you prefer Battle Packs to have 1 or 2 factions?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to madoka's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I prefer the single faction battle packs. My thinking is, LEGO first created the battle packs so you could build an army. Depending on the fan, they may only want one specific army. With the 2-faction battle pack, you may get minifigs you don't want and it makes it harder to army build a specific faction. -
One for me, one for my son, the other 3 will be trade fodder. And if a good enough trade never presents itself, they will go to my nephews and/or niece when we have our family reunion in July. They're big fans of LEGO Super Heroes.

What was the last movie you watched?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol last night. The action was pretty good but there was something about the plot of this movie that didn't sit well with me. It's not I disliked the movie, I just never really got into it. -
LEGO 30160 - Batman Jetski x5 at my local TRU. Had $10 in rewards cash to soften the blow.

Numbered bags in sets- yay or nay?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Lego Otaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yay on numbered bags. It reduces time searching for pieces and helps those with limited space. And if you like to search for pieces, just dump all the bags together into one big pile. It's a win-win depending on your situation. -
Easy decision. Go for the Fire Brigade now. You won'te be able to find it at retail for too much longer and we all know what happens to sets once they're sold out. Town Hall will be around for a couple of years at least and you'll have the opportunity to find a good sale sometime during that time.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For the time being they're both pretty rare. I would say there are more Maul minifigs out on the market. However after May the 4th, TC-14 will become available to a ton of people. I bet we'll see the Maul minifig given away at SDCC or CVI. For now it's a matter of being patient. -
Have you ever bought LEGO in "secret"?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to purpleparadox's topic in Community
I recently started cleaning out/organizing my garage and found a bunch of LEGO that I forgot I had bought. -
Exactly! I never buy anything from TRU that isn't on sale. It's just not worth it. In fact, I choose not to buy any LEGO that isn't on sale. My choice.

As already stated, it's all about turning out a higher profit. Their greed will eventually catch up to them and result in their demise. I often wonder how Toys R Us can survive as a business in today's marketplace. Agreed, once in a great while you can come out ahead purchasing LEGO at TRU. However, most retailers beat them out when they have the same sales as TRU. TRU does have sales on LEGO quite often. I always wait to get TRU exclusive sets until they're on sale. Throw in some Rewards Dollars and it sweetens the deal even more. The thing that drives me the most crazy is when I see Grandparents buying LEGO for their Grandchildren at TRU. I even go out of the way to tell them sometimes that they can get sets cheaper at other retailers. Some appreciate and some give me dirty looks. When I think about it, I think the one thing TRU has going for it, is the fact that it's a toy store. You could go to retailers such as Target and Walmart but their toy selection pales in comparison to TRU. It's like comparing the size of the average LEGO SW fan's Clone Army to mutley777's Clone Army. Plus to young kids, the experience of going to TRU is awesome. And during the Holidays, TRU has a bigger selection than retailers and it's easier to shop there then waste your time shopping from store to store. Bottom line, TRU has their mark-up because they get away with it and as long as they get away with it, they'll continue to do it.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Both Hasbro and LEGO did have the new Darth Maul packaging for their SW merchandise. And I hope this isn't the new trend with LEGO Star Wars. I really loved being able to get my kids new LEGO Star Wars sets for Christmas. -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
WOW that's a lot of clones. You have almost 5 times as many clones as I have SW minifigs. I really wish I was into LEGO Star Wars in 2007 when the Battle Packs were first released. I prefer the Phase II clones from 7655 but my son was only 3 years old at the time and we were still two years away from my brother-in-law buying my son LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga for the Wii. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If I remember correctly Lucasfilm had Hasbro and LEGO delay the release of their new SW merchandise to coincide with the release of Episode I 3D in theaters. -
Is it just me or does anybody else think that LEGO is underestimating the demand for this promo minifigure. I really can't foresee the Hulk being available for the full two weeks that this is running.
