Sorry, I didn't understand your point at the time of my post. First of all, sorry that my comment offended you and sorry to anyone else that was offended by it. I stand 100% behind my comment. Since LEGO changed to the current Battle Pack (BP) format, there have been numerous discussion on different boards by those who are for and those who are against it. Behind polybags and planet sets, BPs are the most affordable LEGO SW product. What I don't understand are the complaints that the current BP format has somehow made LEGO unaffordable. We all lead different lives, have different budgets, philosophies and incorporate LEGO into our lives accordingly. If I were to reach a point in my life where money got tight, it would be a no-brainer for me to cut LEGO out of my life.

Hopefully I'm not the only thinking this.... If you can't afford 2 Battle Packs, LEGO may not be the hobby for you.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No one knows what the focus will be on in 2014. There's always a little something for everyone. I'm just waiting for more details and photos of the Summer 2013 sets. -

Good question, that would make sense since all of these sets are from AotC. -

IMDB is also showing that there will only be 20 episodes this season. I hope your optimism is correct, the more episodes the better. -
Wow that design and toy looks like it came right out of the 1980s. I'm not sure how well this will look on a box with the LEGO logo and a LEGO set.

I understand why LEGO went to the current format of two-faction battle packs. From a business standpoint it makes perfect sense to me. I do miss being able to amass a specific army though. Its a bit of a pain in the rear but I just put minifigs I don't want on the trading block to get minifigs that I do want.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I believe the rumor I heard is that LEGO Star Wars IV will be based on later season of TCW. If that's the case, I'm doubtful we'll get a C-3PO with Battle Droid body. I'll probably end up wrong though. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

We have a Jedi Bob so I welcome any named Jedi LEGO wants to give us. Coleman Trebor, Stass Allie/Adi Galia, Mace Windu with alternate robe, I'll take them all. It's described that all the "re-booted" sets have "tweaks and updates" so it shouldn't be too hard integrating old and new sets into dioramas. Is it just me or is anybody else surprised at how reasonably priced all the sets seem to be? Hope those prices hold up. -

No specific details on what sets may be special or limited edition. I really like how LEGO made a new Boba Fett available in an affordable set and now a new Jango Fett in an even more affordable set. The news of Mandalorian Super Commandos is a treat. Now I can have variations in my small Death Watch army. -

It has been a fairly expensive year so far and as more details on the Summer sets are revealed, it's only going to get worse. My family had just started collecting LEGO SW back in 2009 and we were able to get a few each of the CW Gunship and AT-TE. If the Episode II versions are just as good, we'll be getting even more. -

I really enjoyed Eminence. There was so much going on and I like the way this episode was used to setup what will hopefully be two epic episodes the next couple of weeks. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Where did you hear this rumor? This is the first I've heard of it. I'd be really interested to see how LEGO pulls this off. The Ewoks did bring a little humor to the end of RotJ but I don't agree that it would have been "boring to the younger fans" of the time. I was 8-yo when I saw RotJ at the theater and I didn't need Ewok type humor to enjoy SW and ESB. The fact that Star Wars took place "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....", was more than enough to keep the young me from getting bored. That and going to a theater to watch a movie. -

I don't hate the Ewoks, I just never really got into the whole Ewok craze when I was an 8-yo. I'd rather see LEGO release a different Star Wars set. -

I hope LEGO doesn't make the mistake of making an Ewok Village. I thought the Ewoks were the weakest part of the OT. I'd rather see a different larger set than an Ewok Village. -

I can't wait for until official photos are released. Anything that was seen in that LEGO catalog was "preliminary" and is subject to change. It's awesome that "Wout" was able to look at the catalog and get a glimpse at the possible minifigs. Personally, I don't believe anything until I see it for myself. However I hope what he reported turns out to be true. -
Minifigures and Weapons
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Savage Oppress's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Baseplates work for displaying only. When my kids play with their LEGO, they do it over a large area in the living room. I would need about 20 base plates to cover this area so that their minifigures don't tip over from oversized weapons. -

Thanks. I was searching to see how I overlooked that information. I would love to see updated Jango Fett and young Boba minifigs. Have to be patient though, I'm sure it just a matter of time. I mean, there are a million clones out there that are Jango underneath their helmet and armor. -
Set Falling apart while trying to build.
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Savage Oppress's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My son (8) had a really hard time building The LotR Orc Forge. The base of the platform where the light up brick is, is pretty unstable until you get those brick on top built. There are a couple of other spots that seem unstable at times and I'm surprised at some of the techniques LEGO used in this set. -
Thanks for the review. I don't know if it was intentional but your pictures seem very bright, almost as if there is a glare. Your choices for the picture are excellent though. I like seeing how the ship compares the the ARC-170. You saved me from having to dig it out and build it to see how they compare. My son finished building the Z-95 a week ago and I'd like to add that this ship has great swooshability. He's swooshed the Z-95 more than any other LEGO ship he has and as rough as he is, none of the pieces have fallen off yet.

That's one maybe two sets too many. Maybe LEGO will release them in different colors to add some variety. -

I would have preferred a 501st or 212th Clone as well. This would have been a perfect opportunity for LEGO to get a wanted minifig out there. As far as Commando Droids are concerned, they were released in 2 other sets, one was a battle pack so I'm not encouraged by that.
