It also means other stuff interest you. I have a short video clip in the review. Do take a look. Once I pull the red axle out, the bridge will collapse. It will reverse the collapse effect when I push the red axle back. It is a very fun playing feature for a built set.

The second half of the City wave is awesome. I am looking forward to them.

Indeed it is. The playability is definitely similar to Orient Expedition. The caterpillar tracks was also found only in the Ultra Sonic Raider and this is the second time it has appeared. I agreed that using that parts as the falling bridge works very well. You are a space guy.

Hello everyone, As I have recently done my last review on the 70752 Jungle Trap earlier, my second review of the new LEGO Ninjago 2015 will be featuring the second smallest set for the spring release. Well, I am certainly excited with this entire batch of release and it kind of reboot the interest and love that I had enjoyed for the Ninjago theme which I hope to continue to share more of these pictorial reviews in the future. IN this case, I am hoping to bring and share with you a fresh perspective if you are still undecided on this theme. Without further ado, let me continue with the highlights of this set. Name: 70753 Lava Falls Theme: LEGO System / Ninjago Year: 2015 Pieces: 94 Minifigs: 2 minifigures Price: USD N.A, GBP 7.99, EURO 9.99, SGD $14.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 70753 Lava Falls Back view of the original box image of the 70753 Lava Falls Welcome to the next battle of Tournament of Elements! This is the second smallest Ninjago set ever released for the Spring 2015. This set features the second dual of Tournament of Elements. As you can see in the earlier back view image of the original box set, you may have notice that the special weapon which is known as the Jade Blade is featured as weapon number 1. I haven't really watched the new cartoon TV series yet, but I think this might be the first actual dual to uncover the first weapon, instead of the 70752 Jungle Trap being the first. Either way, this set has started off with a brand new fighting arena and it is rather a hot fiery place to pit against each other though, for an earth-like ninja. The content of the sealed box The sealed box comes with two mint packages, a single orange plate 2x12, cross-axle 12cm rod and an instruction manual to guide the builder on to build up the set. After the built is completed, these are the remaining spare parts which include an additional black mini mask that I consider as an useful minifigure accessory. Going against the official advice by TLG after opening the packets, I will immediately placed and mixed all of the LEGO elements together. The main characters - Cole and Sleven Let me introduce Cole and Sleven who are the two main minifigures characters in this set. The good side featured the calm serious looking earth-looking black ninja. His colour scheme of his tournament outfit remains true to his fundamental colour scheme since Cole's first appearance. From what I have observed so far, Cole is only available in this set. It might be possible that it can also appear in newer polybag designs later since some of his ninja counterparts have appeared in those polybags too. Cole is armed with a golden staff and he probably used it to hit the ground to create strong vibrations on the surface to knock his enemies off the ground. The new evil henchman villain, is Sleven. He is an Anacrondrai soldier, similar to his fellow comrades. He is one of Master Chen's henchmen who has been transformed into a human-Anacrondrai hybrid. This minifigure has so far appeared in three sets including this, and the other two sets are 70747 Boulder Blaster and 70756 Dojo Showdown. Sleven's choice of weapon is the stone blade which is pretty extensive and big. He also wears the new standard snake craved helmet with the tattooed snake prints on the muscular body. You can take a closer look at their outfits without their weapons attached and if you are interested to see what is beneath Cole's appearance, you can look at here. There are also back-printing behind their bodies as well which add good deals onto the character designs. The completed built of Lava Falls This is the completed built of the Lava Falls. It is a battle arena on a shaky bridge above a molten lava pit. Sounds too hot, and unable to afford to make a mistake. The playability feature is certainly the bridge which will allow the builder to pull away the bridge from a red lever hidden beneath and it will cause the minifigure to attempt by running very fast away from danger or prepare to face the fall into the bottomless pit. I will also be showing a simple short video clip on the nice and fun playable function as it make use one of the uncommon parts to form the four connecting planks together. There is nothing too complicated except at the end of it, where the Jade Blade reside for the winner to acquire. You can take a moment to view the different details from the left side view, right side view and back view. Cole climbing up the steps to reach his challenge Watch out for the incoming action happening on the wooden bridge You have fallen into the molten lava pit I am holding the Jade Blade in my possession To conclude, this is a small decent enjoyable playset which is a good play setting for the children to play duel scenes. Well, I gotten this set is because I wanted to get the minifigures in the first place. Then, I find the collapsing bridge a very simple and yet fun playing feature which I appreciate much. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (The playing feature of the collapsing bridge is a fun simple and effective function.) Design: 8/10 (Despite the limited amount of bricks, I felt the takeaway design is overall above average as it feature this tiny battle scene.) Price: 9/10 (Price wise is much reasonable and it also include decent amount of bricks and parts.) Overall: 8.3/10 (Very nice set to play with and it can probably be a good low budget Ninjago set to begin with, if you are unsure.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

Awesome work, vitreolum. Now it is so intriguing that I will like to know what is in the secret for the Monkey Island.

Nicely done. The classic Sea Serpent was one of my favourite for many reasons including the iconic sails and wide variety of minifigures in there. In your case, your brick-built sail was one of the nicest attraction in this update. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks guys for your thoughtful comments. I certainly agreed with you. I wanted the bear as well which only appears in the Forest Police, but it is only made available at pretty expensive set and I didn't want to spend too much on those, just to get the bear. It was a pity indeed. Yes yes! That is the main reason, as in why I chosen this starter set over the others.

Hello everyone, I have been doing some random reviews lately, in the beginning of year 2015. Oh well, I have been buying some small to medium sized sets in retail stores lately, not only making sure that I can qualify for the free gift. At the same time, I am also want to sample some of the new sets that have been released so far since January 2015 which I hope to bring and share some of my thoughts with the Eurobricks Community. In this case, this reviewed set is part of the City Starter series. It begun in 2013 through the release of the 60023: LEGO City Starter Set. This year, we are seeing distinct City sub-themes, like the Swamp Police, Fire Service and Construction. This is also the first time where a similar concepts of battlepack is being introduced in LEGO City with the range of four minifigures to build a quick scene in the City layout. The price is much affordable and inexpensive than some of the licensed equivalent. Without further ado, let me bring you the highlights of this small starter set. Name: 60666 Swamp Police Starter Set Theme: LEGO System / City / Swamp Police Year: 2015 Pieces: 78 Minifigs: 4 minifigures Price: USD $9.99, GBP 8.99, EURO 9.99, SGD $18.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 60066 Swamp Police Starter Set Back view of the original box image of the 60066 Swamp Police Starter Set The beginning of the new LEGO Swamp Police 2015 This set is similar to a battlepack and it is a starter set which it allows the builders to have a head start in their minifigure assortment of the same theme. This set is created to expand and complement the new LEGO City 2015 Swamp Police Theme. This set is all about cops and robbers but instead of happening in the bustling city. It has went to the swamp settings where these criminals will hide their loot deep in the swamp and it is up to the specialised police department in the swamp division to clean up the mess. To be honest, I bought this set because I wanted to have a good feel of how good this theme is as LEGO City Police is kind of an evergreen sub-theme and we had seen many variants of police divisions made available in LEGO City. The content of the sealed box The sealed box comes with two mint packages and an instruction manual to guide the user to build up the set. After the building is completed, these are the remaining spare parts. Once the packets are opened, I will poured and mixed all of the elements together. There are also some of the useful elements made available in this small set. The minifigures accessories such as the bag, 100 dollar printed bills, spade, new-walkie-talkie design, handcuffs, spade and oars, which are very welcoming parts to pass it to the minifigures configuration. The red spider and snake is also equally welcoming as well. The full range of the minifigures in this Starter Set These are some of the main reasons on why I choose to get this starter set. You get a total of four minifigures which include two crooks and two police officers. The crooks are nothing too spectacular even though I could see that the designers are trying hard to make it a little different from the usual prison wear, but still look the same to me. On the other hand, the police officers consist of one male and female which worn different khaki police uniform. I am very pleased to see a female police officer in this set instead of just the boring looking male police officers. All four minifigures have back printing and the torso for the female police officer is excellent as the vest show the 'Police' wordings clearly. The completed built of the high-speed swamp boat This swamp boat design is very nicely done. Well, if the polybag design can be as good as this, I supposed it will probably be snapped up pretty fast. This high-speed swamp boat also include a printed Police tile and it make good use of the parts very well which enable the police officer to keep his binoculars and walkie-talkie safely while on the move. Going off fo my usual patrol routine The completed built of the boat raft I don't know what to say after I have built this boat raft. It is just a mesh-up of some wooden bricks to form a very basic raft. I am not very fond of this design and it seems very random built to me. Oh well, it did achieve the purpose of building a getaway raft which probably get caught eventually, since it only depends on the paddling oars. Where am I heading to? Ah yes, my hideout The completed built of the hideout The hideout is very easy to build. Well, it will take an imaginative mind to imagine that this hideout is in a deep swampy settings and that will require lots of landscaping for the setting up of this diorama. With the newly designed alligator, red spider and red snake, it does attempt to give others that this hideout is being managed by these dangerous creatures. I supposed the risk of these dangerous creatures is worth it in order to keep the loot safely. Ahhhh!!! Where did that alligator come from? How can I outrun you? The fun actions that you can put together in this Starter set To conclude, this set is a nice initiative where you are kind of able to army build police officers and crooks altogether at a much lower pricing. The accessories given in this limited amount of bricks is also equally decent. The pricing is also quite affordable even though I prefer to buy it during sales. I supposed this set will only attract those who are keen to build a bigger Swamp Police Team, but if you love this theme, the amount of sets released in the LEGO Swamp Police will probably be alot of minifigures for you. Instead, I think it is much suitable for people like myself who doesn't want to collect all of it and yet wanted to see how this Swamp Police theme will look like. Oh well, perhaps in actual fact, it was just a convenient excuse for me to just snap this set, all for the love of the newly designed alligator. Summary review Playability: 7/10 (You could put a simple cops and robbers settings but with lots of imagination involved.) Design: 7/10 (Good design of the high-speed swamp boat, but the rest of it is pretty average.) Price: 7/10 (Price is reasonable as compared to other similar licensed battlepacks or equivalent in general.) Overall: 7/10 (Nice set in general and I could definitely recommend you to get it if you are into this theme.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

REVIEW: 70752 Jungle Trap
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A good reference for the Serpentor indeed. This should not be too hard for you to get since this accessory is made available in polybag and in this smallest set. At the very least, you could save up and get other sets first, before the big wave made its way in March. Yes yes. I agree that there are some similarities. Thanks Peppy. I am glad to share this in your forum. Same here, the reboot version didn't caught my interest at all. The only set that interest me last year, is the Battle for Ninjago City. -
Our Eurobricks Member, nori has done a nice comprehensive review on the 60070 Water Plane Chase which is one of the featuring sets in the new LEGO City 2015 - Swamp Police Theme. I think he did a good job to bring the playing features across and I am particularly fond of his fair comparison on the new crocodile/alligator design. Click here to view the 60070 Water Plane Chase review.

This diroama has totally blown me away. Well done on the landscaping and the integration of the official sets.

I am pretty sad that the LEGO Castle may not even made an appearance in 2015. It is rather sad for such a wonderful evergreen theme despite of the Pirates re-release and the sad departure of the LOTR and the Hobbit license.
-
Thanks guys for your kind thoughts. I just wanted to share this very uncommon giveaway set with you guys especially since this is not likely to be available in the US or Europe region. I supposed people who strive for completion on exclusive sets and people who are fond of brick-built animals of the Creator theme. I enjoyed doing this review and no one really forced me into doing something I don't like. In fact, I wanted to create awareness for this set for our community and at the same to let you guys know of the Chinese Lunar New Year tradition. Personally, if this is not a giveaway, it could be harder to appeal to the mass-market, but I could be wrong since this is specifically targeted at the oriental market where I have mentioned those countries in the review that have seen the giveaway presence.

Hello everyone, It has been a very long while since I last visited the LEGO Ninjago theme. Time flies and LEGO Ninjago is now at the fourth year of their release since its inception in year 2011. I am always fond of Ninjago storyline and occasionally, I will get myself immense into the theme from time to time. Well, I don't follow closely of their story since they moved onto the Stone Army, but before all of those, I was definitely watching all of the cartoon episodes in the first two seasons and it kind of went into a hiatus for me. I wasn't expecting that I will be collecting the new LEGO Ninjago 2015 until my wife and I saw the new set designs without even watching the new season. We are somehow attracted by the striking bold colours of the box design and we simply couldn't resist not buying them. In the end, we bought some of the recent new Ninjago releases ranging from the smallest set to some mid-range sized sets as well. I hope to be able to continue sharing my thoughts in this review as I continue. Without further ado, let me show you the simple fun of this set. Name: 70752 Jungle Trap Theme: LEGO System / Ninjago Year: 2015 Pieces: 58 Minifigs: 2 minifigures Price: USD N.A, GBP 5.99, EURO 6.99, SGD $12.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 70752 Jungle Trap Back view of the original box image of the 70752 Jungle Trap Let the battle commence in the Tournament of Elements! This is the smallest set in the 2015 LEGO Ninjago release. The Ninjago theme happened to see the release in Europe and Asian region as of January 2015. This duel scene feature a portion of Tournament of Elements where you are able to see the brave Kai springing in action to take on the enemy and gain an important weapon in his possession. Well, I have not seen any of the new episodes yet even though I really wish I am able to relate this story plot with this set design. In less than 60 bricks, I think there are some decent fun within this set which can actually provide a good sampling as to whether you will enjoy this theme and the characters design as it is. The content of the sealed box The sealed box comes with two mint packages and an instruction manual to guide the user to build up the set. After the building is completed, these are the remaining spare parts which include an additional red half-ninja wrap or mini mask that is an useful minifigure accessory. Once you have opened the packets, I will immediately poured and mixed all of the elements together. I also managed to identify some of the useful elements. The weapons accessories especially the new tan scimitars are good stockade for your own assembling and customisation of minifigures, while the foliage is good for landscaping. The main characters - Kai and Krait These are the two main minifigures characters. Firstly, let's show Kai who is the hot-headed red ninja. This design seems to appear in three sets so far, including a polybag and a supposedly store-exclusive 70756 Dojo Showdown set. Kai is armed with his golden katana and seen with his red mini-mask which I believe is a new designed element. His hairpiece is made up of slightly tougher rubber and personally I am fond of his messy hair appearance. His clothing seems lesser now and perhaps is due to the hot tropical jungle. The colour scheme of his outfit still stay true to his fundamental fire element. While, our new evil counterpart is a guy named Krait. Krait is an Anacrondrai soldier. He is one of Master Chen's henchmen who has been transformed into a human-Anacrondrai hybrid. He is a nasty fighter who is totally devoted to his Master's cause. He seems to be a fairly common minifigures and I do mixed up with his other evil counterparts such as the rest including Sleven and Kapau. Geez, their colour schemes and outfit is rather close resemblance to one another. He wield a skull axe to take down his foes. This guy also have a new snake craved helmet with the tattooed snake prints on the muscular body. You can take a closer look at their outfits with their weapons attached. There are also back-printing behind their bodies as well which add good deals onto the character designs. Front view of the Jungle Trap This is the completed built of the Jungle Trap. It form a platform to the placement of the double Jade Blade (one of the four priced weapons that the Ninjas are fighting for) which look like a small temple shrine, hidden behind the jungle foliage. Obviously, it won't be easy for Kai to reach it despite of just a few raised steps. Because once Kai stepped onto it, something nasty will happen to him. The design of the trap wasn't very effective. No doubt, the dual scimitars are well-hidden behind the jungle foliage. It was supported by technic pins at the back that held the scimitars together. There is a temporary gap being raised for the 1x2 grey brick, where the brown flat tile is disguised as a wooden step. By right, if you are able to depress it, the trap will spring and sliced the person into halves. Unfortunately, the trap wasn't so responsive. It requires a lot of adjustment to get it right and it is abit hard to describe this experience across. Basically, each time you spring the trap, you will need to adjust carefully to ensure that the trap is being effective. Side view of the Jungle Trap Back view of the Jungle Trap Engaging in battle through hand-to-hand duel A clash of weapons with the double Jade Blade and Skull Axe To conclude, I love the simplicity of this set. In actual fact, I am getting this because of the useful parts being found in such an affordable price tag. You are able to get two very decent minifigures and at the same time, you could be able to see how the new evil baddies will look like in the new storyline. I think it is good that this set is inexpensive and this is a good draw for it. Summary review Playability: 5/10 (The trap could improve further as it will need additional time to refine the trap function.) Design: 7/10 (With limited amount of bricks, I felt it did a good illustration of such a small duel scene and the placement of the double Jade Blade.) Price: 9/10 (Price is definitely very reasonable as compared to other small LEGO sets in general.) Overall: 7/10 (Nice set in general and I could definitely recommend you to get it if you are into this theme.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

Hello everyone, I am very pleased to share with you guys, a special exclusive LEGO set which is supposedly limited to countries located in oriental Asia. From my understanding, this set is very limited in distribution and it is advertised as while stock last. It is rare for us to be able to acquire this set through normal distribution mode in local mono-brand shops in Singapore, for example. As far as I am aware, this Year of the Sheep set is available and could be found in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. You can't buy the set over the shelf and you can only redeem it through a minimum amount of purchase is restricted to one set per customer no matter what amount you have spend. In Singapore, you will need to spend a minimum amount of SGD$68 in order to qualify for the set, while in Malaysia (LEGOLAND Malaysia), you will need to spend a minimum of RM168 by buying LEGO City, Friends, Ninjago and Creator sets if I recall correctly. I believe by the time this Chinese New Year celebration is over, the distribution and give-away for this set will also end as well. This is the background of the set and hope you guys are able to locate this set if you are keen to add this into your collection. Name: 40148 Year of the Sheep Theme: LEGO System / Creator / Exclusive Year: 2015 Pieces: 99 Minifigs: 0 minifigure Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep Back view of the original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep (1) Side view of the original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep (2) Side view of the original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep (3) Side view of the original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep (4) Side view of the original box image of the 40148 Year of the Sheep Celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year in the Year of the Sheep In the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the celebration of the year 2015 happen to be the Year of the Sheep. It is part of the 12 Chinese Zodiacs and after the Year of the Horse and in less than a month time, we will be welcoming the Year of the Sheep. I believe that TLG is trying to penetrate and appeal to the oriental market like the earlier re-release and re-hash of this 10250 Year of the Snake. This is indeed a welcoming move to be able to see something so lovely and nice in this sheep. As you can see the release and intent of this set is meant to design as a gift to others since there is a 'To' and 'From' at the front of the box. This also include the opportunity for the giver to include some money if you are married to give to the younger children or basically unmarried ones who you visit or visiting. The rational of giving will be explained in the latter part of the review. Well, this is all part of the Chinese tradition. To me, this is a fine display set made up of pure LEGO bricks to form a fine animal display especially if you are very fond of brick-built sheep. Opening the box The content of the sealed box The sealed squarish box comes with two mint packages and an instruction manual to guide the user to build up the set. After the building is completed, these are the remaining spare parts. This is what I did, after I opened the packets. You also receive the exclusive big red packet or another term known as red packet. Giving red packets is a channel for sending good wishes and luck. Actually, the significance of red packets is the red paper, not the money inside. Wrapping money in red packets is hoped to bring more happiness and blessing to the receivers. Hence, it is impolite to open a red packet in front of the person who gives you. This is the back view of the red packet. In my opinion, I felt the red packet is really too big and I really wonder if this is one of the first few rare occasions that TLG produced such red packets. I know there are some new red packets designs being given away in LEGOLAND Malaysia with minimum purchase but it is a pity that I am unable to take pictures of them. The separate built components to form the sheep together By building the various key elements such as the main body frame, legs and head, you are able to link and connect them altogether to form the completed built of the sheep. It is a very simple and effective built. The completed built of the Sheep The completed built is very lovely indeed. The legs can be moved front and back and the mouth can close up and down. The design even include a tongue, a moving tail which can be seen in the next next image and horns. I got no qualms of the design being done and the simplicity show the beauty of it very well. Side view of the Sheep Back view of the Sheep The completed built of the grass patch The completed built of the grass patch is to form the base of the display where the Sheep can be placed from an elevated height. The design and the placement of the rocks is to be able to adjust the final placement of the sheep being seen near the grass patch with the legs being placed forward. I am very pleased with the outcome of the design. The final built of the Sheep with the display To conclude, I am very pleased to be able to own this set even though it was not easy to locate this set and to match what you need to buy in order to qualify for this purchase with little or no discount. Well, in Singapore, perhaps less than a week of the release, most of the mono-brand shops are starting to deplete their stock despite of the redemption restriction. I am happy to open and build this set and shared my experience with all of you. Do get this set if you are able to find it with an affordable price tag. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Nice playing feature such as the movement of the legs, mouth and tail.) Design: 8/10 (With limited amount of building bricks, you are able to build the sheep and display for it which make a fine display piece on your table.) Price: 8/10 (The reason for the high score is because it was given for free with minimum purchase and if you are getting via secondary source, don't pay an exorbitant price for it.) Overall: 8/10 (Very nice Creator set to celebrate for the upcoming Chinese New Year and distribution will probably be very limited.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
