  1. This is amazing! The name is very appropriate, and the use of dark green and gold slopes is genious - it adds some classic glamour to the jewelers' store. And although the main colour of the house is white, it suits very well with all the reliefing on the facade. In addition to the marvelous exterior, the interior is equally amazing. I like how you combined the Friends' bricks and dolls into this creation.
  2. Siegfried, a big thanks for a great review! I enjoyed viewing the photos and the comparison with the real thing. For someone, who hasn't been close to Sydney, the model looks great. It's the recognizable shape and I think that's the main point of the Architecture models. However, comparing the model with the non-LEGO Opera house is a great way to introduce the set!
  3. It's excellent! I like the dark red corners of the gass station, and how the pumps are put diagonally to the station building.
  4. I think this is a sweet looking house that solves the problem of Market Street balcony very nicely. Being so much shorter, it's impressive that a garage is included in the first floor. The garage door are a nice and simple design, but add to the overall look of the house by matching with the front door. The most impressive are SNOTed windows. I like the shape of two vertical and one horizontal windows put together. On the other hand, the interior is equally impressing. It's amazing how you sqeezed everything in. A purple couch, a kitchen table, a fridge and the stove. Also the bedroom with the table and cabinet is equally nice. Most of all, it's an impressive little build with everything the 'usual-sized' modulars have. You managed really well in creating an impressive building with a height limit.
  5. You have a point in a way. These sets are aimed at much younger population than the average EB user. Why our opinion is irrelevant, on the other hand, makes no sense to me. I like some of the sets for the same reasons as your daughter and I'm planning to buy those regardles of the ladyfigs (which I dislike) and some fiddly 'silly' bits (as you put it).
  6. Thanks for the kind words. I'm thinking something greenish?
  7. I vote for the one in blue overalls and blue shirt. Second best would be the guy with redish-orange hair. If using hats, I'd prefer blue or white ones over red. They're more Ford colours then the red one is.
  8. It's just amazingly amazing! The exterior is wonderfully designed, it fits very well to be wider than the usual modulars. The statue and the scales of justice are brilliant addition to the facade. On the other side, the interior is even more amazing than the courthouse's architectural style. My favourite is the hexagon tiled floors, but there's so many little things that caught my eye (the statues in the judge's offices, photocopier, the elevators...). It's simply put: a fantastic MOC.
  9. I'm guessing blue is your favourite colour. Overall, the buildings look amazing, despite being in fairly similar colour design. However, different architectural styles give them extra level of complexity, and just saying they look amazing is not enough. I checked your Flickr account for more details. The pillars on BB house look great. CC in gold, dark brown and blue looks nice, the blue and gold give enough colour to lighten up all the dark tones. But what caught my attention even more are all the interior details. The room in CC looks great with the friends' piano, and school has great interiors as well - my favourite is science lab. Basketball court is amazing - simple, yet realistic. All in all, this is amazing work!
  10. Oh, this is wonderfull. The first photo really has the effect of a never ending flower field. And the white piano fits perfectly in! Congratulations on the wedding and this beautiful MOC!
  11. That's an interesting MOC. Only made from the cafe, it makes it even more special. I like the fact that you used some of the bricks in a rather unusual way to get what you needed (like taps, and the dish plate). Well done!
  12. The lights and the 'Toj' sign adds life to this creation. And too bad the lights are turned off. Seeing the clothes shop in the context of some other buildings, it looks wonderfull. As I said before, the colour combination of black and white with round edges and curves works amazing. Looking forward seeing your caffe!
  13. That's an amazing model and it's presentation is excellent. I'm looking forward to building it some time soon.
  14. I actually like this one better than the 32-wide. The exterior is fine, only I find too much pink in this model, and in this way, the 32-wide was nicer. However, the overall look is more simple, and as you said, can be distinguished more easily that there's a bakery and a sushi shop. The interiors is great, the bakery is my favourite. It's so full with different sweets and treats. And the pink walls look quiet nice for the bakery. Also, the appartment interiors is well done.
  15. Overall, I like the Seaside house. I'm glad they included more 33 slopes in red and lots of medium blue bricks. Only the price is confusing, specifically the price/piece ratio. In addition to the house, I like how the palm tree is designed, it looks great.
  16. Congratulations to all participants, the organizers, and the winners. I enjoyed all MOCs in the Winter Village them.
  17. A bit off topic perhaps, your title says bookshop, but there's no books. So I hope your next modular will be a bookshop.
  18. @rrigs, this Ford Dealership is amazing. I'd definitely go there with my LEGO Ford. The oval board with the sign is fantastic, the shape is just right, and the stickers add to it even more. All together, everything is great, the parking lot with flowers, and the industrial look of the main building. You're only missing more Ford models.
  19. That's nicely done. I prefer the interiors over exteriors. I like how you tiled the florist's. The coloured pattern makes it more lively. And the water feature in the bedroom is surprising. All in all, congratulations for your interior design. It's hard to combine so many things in such a little space. Well done!
  20. Thanks for all the info, I was hoping to get some of the Friends' sets sooner. As for the new wave, Mia's bedroom looks nice, Adventure Camper looks nice mostly for some specific pieces (the blue bike, the blue surf, and red kitchen utensils), whereas the colour combination is not so appropriate for the camper. I might get these two, but for sure not the others.
  21. That's a very sweet MOC. The buffet table looks great with all the sweets and it's hard to choose one favourite. Well done!
  22. So we get the blue bike! Yay! That's definitely my favourite! I've been googling, and found a link for Lego World Copenhagen 2012, where it says something in Danish about the Friends series. My Danish is very poor, and so is google-translate's. Does anyone know if Friends might be introduced to European stores any time soon?
  23. My vote was for VW Beetle, as it was a set I longed for when I saw it in the catalog, but it was already out of the stores. And it was the set for which I drove an hour to the neighbouring city based on a hint, someone saw it in a small store. And I had to wait there for two hours (during their lunch break) to check in the store if they really have it. I got it in the end, and that's made it a set high on my top list. When it's hard to decide between Green Grocer, the Taj Mahal, the Tower Bridge or MMV, it was pretty clear for me that the Beetle has a special place among these favourite sets.
  24. According to Brickset, I have 227 minifigs,but I think there's more. A fair guesstimate would be around 250.
  25. I agree with others, the architectural style is great with all the curves. The building looks nice, and I think it would look even better with other sets. Standing alone gives me a too dark effect because of all the black. I like the simple and effective interiors as well. Nicely done.
