  1. From my count we're missing the following GoF main characters: Crouch Snr (suit and trial), Crouch Jnr (trial), Rita Skeeter (weighing of the wands, first task, trial), Krum (uniform, coat, second task, third task), Fleur (second task, third task), Gabrielle (silver leotard), Maxime (first task, third task), Karkaroff (welcome feast, first task, second task, third task, yule ball, trial), Moody (yule ball, pajamas), Flitwick (yule ball), McGonagall (welcome feast, yule ball), Harry (second task), Cedric (second task, world cup), Amos Diggory (World cup, third task), Filch (darker coat than normal). Lots of minor variants there and I haven't included any casual outfits from the trio or the Weasleys.
  2. Brilliant, thanks :)
  3. Do you have a parts list you could share for this? Looks good!
  4. The second wave of LOTR sets had the Corsair ship, one reason being that it was something Pirates fans would likely get even if they didn't care about the films it was based on. I'm pretty sure the Durmstrang ship is an attractive idea to Lego for that reason. It's only really the motorbike and Hogwarts carriages after that, maybe the Gringotts carts as well.
  5. Flitwick's hair has also appeared elsewhere in reddish brown in a different theme and Moody's hair has also appeared in reddish brown in bricks and pieces.
  6. Some of them are coats on top of other outfits, but yes twelve! The thing about the trial clothes is that three characters wear them, as well as a load of extras, so it might make it slightly more likely... the hat looks quite Tudor too, so might do for a future Castle theme! If there was a Ministry set the Atrium, Department of Mysteries and Hall of Prophesy would be the most interesting parts, but small side builds like the elevator and trial chamber could be possible, especially as Dumbledore and Harry would already be involved in the Atrium part of the set.
  7. I rewatched OotP and did a count of how many outfits Umbridge wears - twelve! I know Slughorn has more than one as well so I think both are possible, indeed likely in Umbridge's case, in any future waves.
  8. There isn't much point unless you heavily mod the old sets, they're a lot shorter than the current sets so the towers don't look very tower like. The Great Hall and Grand Staircase Tower from the 2010 set have been reproduced better in the 2018 sets, the rest aren't very screen accurate so could be misc parts of Hogwarts. Most of the rooms are reproduced as well, like Gryffindor Common Room, Dumbledore's Office, Dormitory, Great Hall interior and Defence Against the Dark Arts. Again you could mod those parts to be other rooms.
  9. I couldn't agree more with this. The older sets, particularly from the first two films are very much in the spirit of the books and also the early games (1-3), with hidden gems in chests, sliding or rotating panels and hidden areas. The Slytherin Common Room set came with a sword, c'mon. I wouldn't change the near-screen accurate stuff for that now though. Looking back, the builds were very exposed and often in the wrong colour (black, dark grey, light grey, brown) but they were a lot of fun. I'm impressed how many play features they can get into a set with how detailed the builds are now. I might be slightly jaded as I'm also a Star Wars fan and haven't been excited about play features in that line for a while though. Long may it continue.
  10. Yeah, that's one of the things I'm most looking forward to changing, as well as Krum's hair and face, Fleur's hair, and changing Macnair's hood for the cowl piece. Your Gryffindors look great! If you get all the last wave of sets you get six Gryffindor torsos, not including the polybag or build your own adventure book. I've got to update my Gryffindors from the old style robes and include my CMF ones too.
  11. A few more for your consideration. I gave Lockhart Newt's face from the CMS, I think it looks quite a bit like the old yellow dace with the big grin. The hair looks a bit silly now, I think the piece from either Andre Schurrle (Tan), Christopher Kramer (Medium Dark Flesh) or Max Kruse (Dark Tan) is the best. Just a simple change of hairpiece for these two, I gave Slughorn his hat from the CMS Graduate and Ollivander his old hair piece as I think it works better than the new one. I know some people would have preferred Sirius to have Moody's hair, so this gives you an idea of what that would look like. I also have one with Dastan's hair. I think Old Luke's hair works best though.
  12. This thread is a Harry Potter Version of the excellent thread on the Star Wars forum started by Kingslayer. It's a place to share ways of making the Harry Potter figures look even better, sharing custom items for sale you might find elsewhere and showing off characters created from your own parts. A lot of these get posted in the yearly discussion threads, but the posts get lost amongst price discussions and piece count debates :D First up, I've tried out a few hairpieces for McGonagall. The braided piece is in Light Grey and Dark Tan, the bun piece is Light Grey, but Dark Grey is also available. I think the bun hairpiece looks better for her appearance the first few films, and the braided piece in the later films where she wears her hat less. The hairpieces also covers up her alternate expression better. I think this piece is too light, but the shape is good. Unfortunately this piece isn't available any darker at the moment. I thought Cho's skin tone was too dark in her CMS figure, so changed from Flesh to Light Flesh. I used Paige Tico's head from the Star Wars Resistance Bomber set, as both actors are of South East Asian heritage and the face suited the character. Rose Tico's face didn't suit her as well. I used the original Cho face for the Patil twins. I got four Cho minifigures so I used two for Padma and Pavati. I'm not sure which ponytail piece best suits them out of the three I have, so I've shown them all. I used Boggart Snape, the bird piece from the lone ranger sets and General Leia's face to make Augusta Longbottom. If only the bird piece came in Tan/Dark Tan... I swapped Malfoy's Bright Light Yellow hair for Tan. I think it makes him look a little less friendly! Anyway, hope these are of some help or interest and I'd love to see what others have done too :)
  13. What makes people think the Harry Potter theme is almost done? We've only heard good things about the amount of units it's sold, it's won awards, it could easily do another wave on films 1-2 and 3-4 again so Lego are not short of material. I may be slightly jaded from some Star Wars fans opinions of their theme, as that is the only other theme I collect, but HP fans on the whole seem to be delighted with what we have got so far for this theme, Hungarian Horntail aside of course :D Privet Drive, Diagon Alley, Philosopher's Stone Chambers, The Burrow, Herbology, Slytherin Common Room, Chamber of Secrets, Divination, Hogsmeade, Durmstrang Ship, Second Task - there is easily enough material for a second wave.
  14. Unfortunately I think they're finished - my order of the Hogwarts Express and a second Great Hall and they were cancelled because they're no longer available from the supplier. There are still probably loads about but are no longer in production (or something like that)
  15. Roger Davis isn't in DA, Michael Corner is, who is in Ravenclaw too, but how about Zacharias Smith to get a Hufflepuff torso?
  16. Has anyone found a better face or hairpiece for Krum? I prefer his 2005 look to the current ones.
  17. I'm still in two minds about the Hungarian Horntail set. The big disappointment is obviously the Dragon, the minifigs and scenery are fine and its a good price. The 2005 dragon was appalling too, but hopefully a brickbuilt head, making the body and legs a better size and using the old tail pieces might help. Will have to look at alternative wings too, possibly.
  18. I hope Wormtail has a sly/cunning alternative face, but I think his hair needs changing. Has anyone tried the 2010 Voldemort face on the CMS body? If it looks okay that's three expressions that work, but it'd be really good to see a really angry face in the next wave or so.
  19. The Durmstrang ship could only really have Krum in his uniform and Karkaroff, maybe Karkaroff's Aide. If this was released as a set maybe they could include a few figures from GoF. A Second Task set could have the four champions, Crouch and a Merperson, and the sleeping prizes, set on the grandstand with the underwater part underneath. All together I can't see both those hypothetical sets being combined to a £200 DTC set, I'd imagine them to be maybe £100-120 together. So I doubt this Durmstrang thing would work. I'd much rather have the sets, but as mentioned above maybe having the four champions in their second task outfits would be a good bricktober pack, with a Merperson in a future CMS,perhaps with a grindylow! Apart from GoF which is missing the Second Task, the other thre films covered are all missing sets based on their climax - Philosopher's Stone chambers, the Chamber of Secrets and the Shrieking Shack. Might be nothing in it, but it's a weird pattern
  20. Just thought, no cauldron, knife or Baby Voldemort in the Graveyard set?
  21. These look excellent! Not sure about Wormtail so far, and was expecting Lucius over a generic Death Eater, but these look great! Happy with the size of the carriage and horses too, I wasn't expecting a new mold.
  22. How much do the build your own adventure books normally retail for? Lots of nice pieces and an extra Gryffindor torso are good, but it depends how much the set is :) Cannot wait for this new wave, when did we hear about brictober packs and diagon alley last year? Be nice if there was something similar this year!
  23. The Knight Bus looks really good inside. I want to mod the bed to be more of a four poster and change Ernie's cab a bit, but otherwise an improvement on the last two!
  24. Hopefully Flitwick looks like PS/CoS, Ron has his Weasley jumper McGonagall has a dress piece. Sounds like a good calender anyway!
  25. As said above, the Astronomy Tower is the most iconic part of Hogwarts Castle other than the Great Hall/Grand Staircase Tower and the Clock Tower. What might work is two parts connected by a bridge, such as the Bell Towers connected to Gryffindor Tower by the Suspension Bridge. They're not accurately placed, but could look good together and easily be modded to suit people with more accurate tastes.
