double T, how do you see this time frame of the 29th-31st exactly? i mean, have you anything planned for Sunday? 'cause if i'd go, i'd be in Billund friday at 9 in the morning and i would have to get my plane back to brussels sunday at 12 'o clock... would that correspond with your intended agenda or would i have to leave the group early and miss half of the Sunday agenda? thanks

no we're not sure at all. i'm not saying that they will enjoy the line, i'm only saying that we are just a little bit older than the intended audience, therefore might not be happy with the line. perhaps 4 year olds aren't happy with it either... But perhaps it's up to the 4 year olds to give us their opinion... :P where are they? :P
-
"4+" indicates "age", people... i'd be very surprised if you, as an adult reader, would be happy with a book for a 4 year old... just to put in some perspective here... :P
-
can't you just grab one of a Japanese tourist in Paris? :P

i liked it the first time i saw this one appear on forums. nowadays, i don't know what to think of it. i can't use the cockpit, because of the new type of hinge. it's not compatible with the old system... There's no real cockpit either. this ... thing... just seems to pop out the cockpit,... there are no studs inside so you can't put a seat in it,... i like the colors but they're at the same time useless, because i won't have enough bricks in these colors to build something decent. this machine is basically a combination of two cockpit windows and a lot of hinges... oh yeah ... plus ... something that pops out... what i most like about this set are those two cone parts on the robot. i'll use them as warheads on my torpedoes. but i think i'll wait with that until they're available in large numbers on bricklink however, I, but I'm sure i'm speaking for every one here, do expect to see a lot of photos made by you by Sunday :P, yes, next Sunday :P

seen these on brickself? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=122432

i'd have to go for a new, sophisticated space theme... there will be no space/science fiction theme after star wars is gone and that would really ruin my day...
-
well... there's a hatch to open and close the compartment. TLC probably tried to get an extra feature into this set... it's quite normal, tho... they're just trying to make the set more attractive. if you want the tank to be more realistic, then i guess you're going to have to wait until the movie comes out and when you've got this tank in your hands... i think you can also modify the entire wheel mechanism and make some more room for men...
-
no problem :P :P
-
they look like phones, anyway :P they are also quite rare. in fact, these phones :P :P are one of the reasons why i'm going to buy this clone tank as soon as i see them on the shelves... i think the tank has at least 4 :oo :oo

Has The Lego Company gone a bit stupid?

Which Lego Land was this though? I've visited their websites and each Lego Land is different to another. Some have more attractions, and some don't have Pirates! ARG!!! yes, there are several parks, but only one is Holy Ground: Billund Legoland :P -
Those are indeed phones in the LEGO sense of the word. I'm guessing they're just generic circuitry in the set, though, not anything specific. ;) i think the official term for these phones is "bars", so they can be whatever you want them to be :P yeah... i also use them as phones... it's stupid tho... you'd think they'd use something a lot more modern in the future than a good old fashioned telephone like that. :P

i was there in August... i went inside the pirate shop, looked around and found, as is stated in the text mentioned earlier, all sorts of pirate stuff, including sets. Don't forget: legoland is a family theme park: it's focused on small children. boats and trains are more or less children sized, in fact, it is sort of embarassing to wait in the line between all these 6-7 year olds (and younger), waiting for a free boat... Perhaps a group of afols won't have that problem. :P the actual legopark is not extremely large. sure, you can hang around for many hours if you want to, but you easily finish your round in half an hour as well... However, do take the time to get lots of pictures, because the recent buildings are very good. :oo they should clean the old stuff, tho... Make sure you get a place at one of the restaurants as soon as you enter the park, because, these bars and restaurants are always extremely busy and you very often won't get a place to sit... :P in fact, i was a bit disappointed by Legoland. It's a legend and every fan should visit the Holy Ground once in his or her life, but it's a lot more fun for a child than an adult... -

i remember the pirate shop... sure there were some sets in in it, the 4+ series, nothing else, if i remember this correctly... it's going to be very busy, by the way. so, before you take a picture, tell the others to clear the way :P -
EuroBricks - The Event - Are you comming?
snefroe replied to DoubleT's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
i'm sorry to say that i can't... i'll be without a car in summer, won't be able to drive outside belgium, and an airplane ticket costs me in all about 250 euro and i'd prefer spending that on real lego than on transport. :( have a good one, guys... -
there is a starfighter plus vulture droid for 14$ as well... didn't see anything on the clone turbo tank tho... unfortunately, they don't ship these things outside the us *sing* it's soooooo frustrating...

KLM and Air France are partners now... perhaps our french friends will be able to get one if they're using Air France as well? Perhaps at Charles de Gaule airport? :oo

it's fun to step into a shop and see an entire shelf of lego sets, that's for sure... personnaly, i like taking those boxes in my hand, and look at all the pictures on them... i'd like to be tempted to buy a set... true... an online lego store doesn't give you that... :() -
did you see the other picture of the plane? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....y.cgi?i=1151203 suddenly, this set looks a lot more interesting :oo really funny are the markings on the wings. that's the Belgian Air Force! :P :P Wonder why they've put those on a set for the Dutch Royal Airlines...

look at this from tlc's point of view: first: it's far too costly to keep machines running for the production of one set for many years. consequently, they will try and limit the use of those machines because they're not cost efficient. That means those sets (especially Legends: unique parts, remember) will only be available for a limited time frame. it's a fact, you may not like it, live with it. the best answer that TLC has found to deal with the negative results (higher price on auctions,...) is to rerelease those sets after a couple of years. tlc is not going to distribute Legends through out the world if she knows that the set will not be sold in massive numbers... Retailers might not even want it in large numbers. second: TLC is not going to pay for an extremely expensive distribution to all retailers, to all in the smallest towns, villages all over the world. and retailers are no wholesalers, the retailer doesn't buy 2000 clone turbo tanks for the next six months, followed by another 2000 for the rest of the year. they want 12 for this month, perhaps 15 the next one,... TLC is not going to spend millions just to get a handful of sets to all over the world. they are setting up a network of shops of their own and a network of large distributors (international chains, mostly). And then they will simply deliver their entire cargo to a few headquarters of those chains to limit their transport costs. the chains will then do the rest. TLC is now saying to you, as a customer: "if you want to buy a set, and you cannot find it in your local shop, then please visit Lego.com and order it there. if you want to buy a set via Ebay for 165$ instead of 65$ with us, then that's not smart, but it's your choice." that's a good marketing strategy. it will even increase cost efficiency of the lego.com. the only thing TLC needs to do now is to use the lego shops as a storage for lego.com. if a German buys an exclusive set via lego.com, it should be the lego shop in Aachen, Germany, to send the set to the customer. that's cheaper than to send the order to danmark. you may not like it, i don't either, but that's the way it is. why? Because it's a lot cheaper for TLC! And because of that we're seeing sets that are cheaper then they would have been 2 years ago... i think TLC knows about the negative dimensions of the changes, but gave full priority to a lower price... third: there is a MAJOR problem with tlc's communication. to my knoledge, tlc still hasn't appointed a spokesperson for the company to talk with us, afols. there's no one who's listening to our ideas, complaints, suggestions... we've got Jake and Jan beyer, but i have no idea what it really is what they're doing... there is no one who's explaining why Tlc's taking all these decisions,... i also don't think that Lego.com is doing a good job on that aspect either. there was a question on the availabilty/release of the viking sets in the US. Why didn't TLC publish an official statement on the website, instead of stimulating the confusion with their silence? Frustration, irritation is a result. tlc is simply not taking us seriously. i very often think that Danmark is an island... in a galaxy far far away... -
last thing i heard was that TRU was going to focus on younger children because of a higher profit... so i'm not sure what lego and TRU are up to... more duplo perhaps...

you're right. 400 pounds = 580 euro well... it is weekend, meaning half of my brain is on vacation... i'm also looking forward to the release of ROTS sets i'm not sure 'bout exploding, tho... i think i'll have a normal year, but because of lower prices, i might be getting more out of it... take that XXL construction crane: 50euro! that's not really much, is it? next saturday? that's the 26th? a bit early... i'm afraid i'll have to wait until april. i think Apo indicated that most of the sets would arrive in Germany in late april... Belgium will probably be the same... *sing*
