  1. Great review! Thanks for posting it. I'm really looking forward to this set.
  2. Saw it last night. It's incredible.
  3. I swoosh pretty often. I'll PEW PEW PEW or add my own dramatic score almost always.
  4. When I was kid I went to great lengths to make my minifigures unique and name them and come up with personalities and all that. I also enjoyed building models, but anything I built was just to supplement the story I was telling about the characters I had already invented. And this was back before any licensed stuff (although I remember getting a huge thrill when I found Lego was beginning to give names to at least certain characters, like Captain Redbeard).
  5. I hated the Wonder Woman's leg printing turned out. I mean, full credit to Lego for trying, but I think the "swimsuit" look on female figures should be avoided as much as possible.
  6. I've had a custom Storm sitting around for ages unfinished because I couldn't decide on which head to use. Guess that riddle's been solved.
  7. Thanks!Martian Manhunter is an Atlantis Portal Emperor chest and a Frankenstein's monster head. Slap on blue hips and a cape and ta-da! GL's weapons and WW's gauntlets are from Brickforge.com

  9. Man, that's great work! You really nailed it.
  10. Thanks! I appreciate it.
  11. I don't know if it's been mentioned, yet, but Ninjago Overborg's hairpiece makes for a great purist Cyborg. I'm still mixing and matching his body, but the head's a winner.
  12. Most of my Lego focus is on recreating pop culture from my childhood. Here are a couple of models I built over the last couple of months based on the Masters of the Universe toyline. 13. Don't forget about Toy Story's Army Men set: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7595-1 Lots of useful parts there, IMO.
  14. Love Mojo. Awesome work.
  15. Looks like a nice build. I'd love to see some pics of it without the Tumblers present, to get a better sense of what's underneath/behind them. I love that there's a weight room. The kind of detail that Batman would totally have but that is easily overlooked.

  18. Great review! I've been waiting a while for the light blue hands to become more readily avialable, and two figures in this wave has 'em. My cup runneth over!
  19. I don't own Legends of Chima Eglor myself (yet) but I was looking at pics online and realized his torso is a pretty perfect stand in for Captain America's uniform from the upcoming Winter Soldier movie (minor spoilers at that link). Just put Cap's normal head, hands, and legs on it
  20. Love it. Recognized every vignette. I probably could have guessed what the MOC was about without any introduction or superhero emblems. Great job.
  21. I love how you did the helmet. Will that piece just clip in as-is or did you have it carve it down any?
  22. Finished this a while ago, but just today took pics of the final build: Modular Sewer Assembled by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Entrance by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Kitchen by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Living Room by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Workshop by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Gym by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Dojo by Hobbestimus, on Flickr Pizza-Rama by Hobbestimus, on Flickr
  23. Wow, that Warlock is great!
