To be honest, I can't blame Karie OR Kinto for ignoring what Lind says...it's not fun playing with someone who tries to make the whole Quest be about them, particularly when they keep nitpicking undercutting everything you say or do point-by-point. How's Miirym in that regard? I wanted her text color to match her scale color, but I do worry it may be a bit hard to read.

Arthur eyes Hybros with mock suspicion. "Perhaps, if you're so eager to jump on the bandwagon, you should go next, hm?" Arthur almost blurts out the phrase 'scum or dumb', but catches himself just in the nick of time. He eyes his empty bottle of Mead suspiciously. "Strange. Usually it's Nostrum that opens up my tongue, makes me talk too damn much--Mead's usually nothing. Something about the altitude, maybe?" The Dragoon gently smacks his temple a few times, then shakes his head in a futile attempt to clear it.

Woooow, Warlen, how much Ether did that sick Burn cost you? Seriously, though, it's been a while since we've had a joke - based character who's both consistently funny AND still feels like they fit in with and respect the game world. Well done. In other news, I'm going to be gone most of today. I'll try to get a post in tonight, once the Flex Alert is over.

With those mental "words" to those nearby, Miirym retreats to a position behind the ship's wheel, curling up and remaining silent so as to recover her energy.

Miirym flaps her wings and poses proudly on the ship's railing, though she is forced to fold them quickly to avoid being blown away. "Of course, my companion will prove his worth to my people, and my own is of course beyond question, so there is no doubt of our mission's success; that said, however, it is disappointing to hear the disrespect in which my fellow Dragons are held." The little dragon seems to have taken U'or's words personally.

For the sake of a neutral analysis: Upgrading a SP:2 shield to SP:18 would normally cost 1680 gold, and then it would cost another 450 gold (plus the cost of gems, so in Thormanil's case 900 total to dis-imbue from shoes and into shield) to put all the elements in, for a grand total of 2580 gold to make an equivalent shield manually, whereas it only costs 900 to upgrade the crystal shield to that point. Yes, mobs are definitely going to make a liberal appearance in the Fields from now on as well.

Arthur raises an eyebrow and follows Lady Felix and Guffington inside, sipping a Mead as he does so. He seems content merely to watch Zora and Hybros' game, focusing mostly on the former. Miirym, meanwhile, settles near Hoke and U'Or. Upon hearing of the Dragon's Heart Flame, she furrows her brow. "If this flame is so intimately connected to my people," she mentally projects to both Hoke and U'Or, "why would we be willing to part with such a precious gift?"

Sandy, is that Crystal Shield supposed to have such a low SP? Even with all gems imbued in it, it would only have SP:9, which isn't very high as far as actual shields go.

"It is a bit of a long tale. Atramor, Skrall, Miirym, and I were assigned to be Lady Shanxian's protectors when she was called to Xu by the Council of the Blue Hand. They were suspicious of Jun's involvement with the 108 Stars of Destiny--apparently a group of bandits with revolutionary aspirations. It turned out that it was not Jun they needed to worry about, but Lady Shanxian herself--with Monsignore Legonardo's help, she had assembled a small strike force of automatons and snake-ninjas from Nagashan, who proceeded to attack the Citadel in the Clouds. We rushed to the Council chambers, only to learn that Lady Shanxian, her sister-in-law Maiwei Ji Pei, and Monsignore Legonardo had arranged an alliance with Nagashan to usurp the Council, and after defeating their guards we learned that the Littlefinger of the Council was also in on the coup. That's where I got this shield, actually," Arthur explains, hefting the Blue Hand Shield. "Anyway, before we left we met the Naga leaders Raja Serpior and his wife Rani Shiveta, and bid farewell to Monsignore Legonardo, who decided to stay in Xu. Lady Shanxian told us that the new Council will have representatives from each of the twenty-six provinces, in an attempt to more fairly represent the people of Xu. I hope that the results of our little revolution have lived up to those intentions."

Arthur too waves to Daneeka as he departs. He looks over at Hybros. "If I am correct, I have probably ridden the same airship on my own journey to Xu. I wonder if we will meet another Cloud Gigas on our journey? That would certainly be a worthy fight for us."

We need to have a Google Olegaia. For some reason I thought that Duplovia was south of Baltarok, until the location of Pantana set me straight. On a similar note, could we have the maps of Baltarok, Babaleth, and Fenario/Spesialia added to the Library (since we already have the map of Dastan there)?

Still, perhaps his actions will come back to haunt him--perhaps someone else will pay him back in kind." "Happier days, eh?" Arthur thinks back on his own history, what seem to him as a long string of miserable memories mixed with a few happier recollections that had been tainted by later revelations and poor decisions. "There's only three that stand out to me at the moment: my training with the Lion Knights to become a Skirmisher, the day I met Jules and the crew of the Magpie, and the day I decided to leave Heroica to focus on my family. If I had to pick three moments to be remembered by, it would probably be them."

Arthur hesitates a moment. Dyric was a friend, a brother. But all the same, the weapon had value, both monetary and sentimental. After his moment of thought, Arthur settles on an answer. "Tell you what, give me that mushroom and we'll call it even," he says with a smile.

Master Guffington's expedition seemed to be the best opportunity available to us, especially since it meant getting to work with Heroes again." "In fairness, those were both hallmarks of my earlier years in Heroica. Does the fact that such things now irritate the Hel out of me mean I'm getting old?" Arthur chuckles, while Miirym exchanges a glance with Torc before rolling her eyes and puffing out a burst of smoke in mild amusement.

The only Munchkin I know is a hideously disrespectful Human that Hoke and I had to deal with in a Shadeaux - run winery. I am most thankful we will not be traveling with that'Whisperer' fellow."

My mother is Valentine Ziegfried, inventor of the Z-mail system so many folks use these days." Arthur beams in pride at his mother's accomplishments--accomplishments, he suddenly remembered, that his father had tried to steal for himself. "I...very much prefer Mom's side of the family to the one in which I was raised." Miirym perks up at the mention of Arthur's past. She shifts her position next to Torc so that she can both listen to Arthur and speak to her fellow Dragon. "<He mentions his past often, but rarely speaks of it directly in my presence. Is this a habit your companion shares as well?>" she inquires of the fiery reptile.
