  1. ...that's hilarious. Finally I can reveal this! Now I don't have to worry about people approaching Arthur when he wasn't even in the Hall yet!
  2. Arthur stands outside the City Watch headquarters, resolute. "I didn't think I'd be this nervous." "We all are first day on the job, no matter who we are or what we've been before. It's the responsibility we bear for this city finally settling in." "Responsibility...yes, I've been missing that in my life." "Yeah, I bet you have, Hero...*grumble grumble*" "Well, it is time for me to return to the Hall. The Heroes will require my aid." "Private Bert. Private Andrew." "Private Regulus." A figure in a dark cloak passes by. With a jolt, all three Guards recognize him. "It's that thief who emptied the Repository!" "I've got him!" Arthur tears off after the dark figure, but the man darts through narrow alleyways and into crowded streets and back into the winding passages. Arthur can't help but notice they are moving in the direction of Heroica Hall. Just as he realizes this, he rounds a bend hot on the heels of the cloaked man...only to see... "...nothing?" He takes a step forward, nearly tripping over the bundle left in the path. Arthur looks inside to find his belongings, minus a Scroll and plus an extra gold coin. He shakes his head. What was THAT all about? Returning to the Hall, still confused, he is approached by an unfamiliar character. "Ah, yes, how may I assist you, citizen? Ah--I mean, Hero?"
  3. He used Special Mirror, and the enemy's Special did damage to the enemy party...which meant he did damage to OUR entire enemy party, resulting in two of the NPC deaths and a huge chunk of the party not getting experience for the last part of the battle. Not to mention leaving Triad to die... Step 1 of battle: kill Atramor.
  4. I think most QMs have a pleased reaction to Heroes rolling Specials they really like. I laughed evilly when I got to hit Johon with the Tail.
  5. That would me mine, then. *buffs all enemy SP by 300% and makes them Immune to Lifestealer* God I wish I had Boomingham's confidence with women.
  6. Stupid LDD lagging heavily when I build models containing 4,000+ bricks...

    1. Endgame

      Endgame

Ugh, tell me about it... one of the ending scenes for 48 has 5,000 bricks - my computer nearly melted.

  7. Hey, Selena Gomez can act when she wants to. I can't picture her as Jaina, but there are worse choices that Disney has access to. Far, far worse choices. *cough*MileyCyrus*cough* *shudders*
  8. Indeed. I'd actually like to see a modern-day custom engraving using that design. That's one of the advantages we have in the modern age: the ability to take some of these ideas that never saw the light of day and make them real.
  9. Same here. Flickr seems fine, as does his Photostream...
  10. ...yes, that was the general idea. That still leaves me outside the Hall until then. Speaking of deadlines, when DOES everyone generally set their deadlines, timezone wise? I've been lucky enough that all of the Quests I've been on have been hosted in the U.S., so generally the sign-up closure deadline has been within a couple of hours of my time (plus I generally sign up well before the deadline); how do most other QMs handle timezones for deadlines?
  11. Althior: "Oh, yeah, you know, I died. No big deal." Curse me for deciding on another crazy character twist that keeps me out of the Hall...!
  12. More likely it came from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frcCss2JfxI
  13. Or, you know, making things specific to specific characters. The unique Grogmas gifts are terribly imbalanced, except for one factor: the vast majority of them are in one way or another limited to the character they were given to. If Galen's Rubber Band were tradeable, it would be totally broken, it circumnavigates the whole point of throwing weapons versus ranged weapons. However, by making it soulbound to Galen, it changes from a game-breaker to an incomparable; instead of being a way to get around the limitations of the system, it becomes a "special ability" that makes Galen a unique tactical asset (i.e. for things like the Fields). Same thing goes for De'kra with his mask, or Thothwick with his Banana Saber. Nagure's fur coat is the most basic and thus "break-y" of the items, but it IS soulbound, and I feel it's justified. Nagure seems to go unnoticed by a lot of us (myself included, I'm ashamed to admit)--everyone looked at the Lens of Speed-Reading and went "Yep, that's something for Arthur", and people looked at the Tome of Affluence and said, "Welp, that's Boomingham's right there." However, nobody looks at an item and says, "you know, I think that thing would work well for Nagure"--or at least, not until now. While I'm sure some amount of random selection was involved, I think Sandy was sensitive to pick up on that and say, "Hey, this guy has consistently and dutifully contributed quite a bit to this game in terms of effort, but he doesn't seem to have much to show for it. I should make sure his gift is really nice." Now, not everything should be unique or soulbound (especially directly soulbound--that's best left to special events by Sandy), but incomparables is far preferable to direct power creep.
  14. I don't think you quite understand; my problem isn't with the actual prices of the consumables, it's my "I-never-seem-to-roll-a-SHIELD" issue. Speaking of Gold, whatever happened to Quests that offer it as a reward? I've only seen titles and reputation and experience lately.
  15. Consumables are expensive...especially since Arthur refuses to roll a SHIELD while on Nostrum (or otherwise!)...
  16. A shadow detatches itself from the wall. To the Warden's surprise, it is not, in fact, Arthur, though the being that reveals itself seems posessed of the same aura of melancholy the Sorcerer had so recently shown. "Apologies, Master Docken, it appears that Master Regulus is...somewhat indisposed at the moment. Fortunately, I possess what you require, and though he does not know it, I am, in fact, empowered to complete his business for him." The man passes over one of Arthur's Scrolls of Frailty, and accepts the gold coin. "I will ensure this makes it to its proper owner. You are...a Hero of a unique sort, Master Docken. You and Master Regulus will make a fine team...when the time is right." The figure nods and exits the Hall. --------------------------------------------------- On his way through the seedier parts of the city, hood raised and eyes alert, the man spots another shadowy figure. A smile of recognition crossed his face, though it could not be glimpsed through the inky blackness of the shadows beneath his cloak. Perfect, he thought. "It seems an opportunity has arisen for you, miss. May I offer you 170 Gold for that blade of yours?" He offers a small sack of gold. He knew Arthur would not miss it--not in his present condition. "Sound fair?"
  17. Might be interesting to see, perhaps I could intro my plans for Arthur a day early if he tries. In any event, now I have to make an unplanned NPC-only post. Thanks a lot.
  18. Grr...! Can't decide if a Level-Up mushroom is a reasonable investment! (I know that medal isn't for me, since most of my best Artifacts are Accessories...)
  19. Oh, that's right! Still, you put it best. Actually, looking back, Regulator IS a great class that can be strategized around...just not in the battles we were facing. Our enemies all had TONS of Specials, and lots of annoying immunities--not to mention that we literally had NO idea what we'd end up facing, we had to split the party, the enemies were CRAZY high-leveled, AND our Regulators were missing one of their most valuable assets: their shields. I guarantee if we had thought to give Hoke's shield to Hans while Hoke used those Twin Broadswords, Hans would have survived.
  20. I'm the only Hero that can take Skirmisher OR Regulator. I'm also the only Hero who can reliably inflict Jinxed (as a permanent ability rather than a consumable) at the moment. As Doc and Swils will soon see, both options are HIGHLY attractive for Fields work. I keep forgetting my Scrolls are actually useful. (Dang you, Zepher! ) That makes three potential strategies Arthur is well-suited for. I've said all along that my mechanical goal for Arthur is that he become one of the most flexible Heroes possible.
  21. Don't forget, Hybros and Atramor have the advantage of stats knowledge, especially in the harder areas. Cronk will never go to the Fields, though. Remember last time we asked? I would have listed Alexandre because of that awesome Mail he has, but if he goes Black Knight instead of Paladin, that pretty much nullifies his usefulness for the dream team...and Boomingham isn't exactly well-built for something like the Fields (no offense, Zepher). You know, what we REALLY need in the Fields is a Skirmisher or a Regulator...hmm...let's take this back to PM, shall we?
  22. I still think it's a shame that the Chaos Regulator isn't open to people from other Wren Quests. Jess, Hybros, and Tensi really deserve to be able to go that route. ...I want to go on another Quest with Tensi. I got too wrapped up in myself on 38 (the culmination of which was seen in my obnoxious behavior in 53), and I missed a lot of opportunity with her. Her roleplaying in that pre-boss discussion really shaped how I saw Arthur (and the real world, for that matter), it was really great stuff. Nerwen, Arthur, Tensi, Skrall, Dyric, Sorrow. Now THAT's a dynamic roleplaying party. Let's make it happen sometime. One day...you, me, Docken, and a couple others for good measure... Also, I SO want to see Chromeknight QM some day.
  23. I remember being introduced to the Flying Scotsman many years ago now through the Thomas the Tank Engine books. Ah, memories... I would agree with spitfire2865 that the tenders are a bit short. It also seems from the photo that there should be a 1-stud inset into the front of the coal tender, with what looks like a step or a door of some kind set into it--the coal tender itself seems about a stud short anyway, so this might be a good opportunity to expand it. Best of luck! Do you eventually plan to build the Scotsman in real brick?
  24. Nagure has 21.
  25. Holy crap. Nagure's Defense is second in Heroica only to Docken...! Also, I just realized that the people on Q50 have the advantage of Sandy owning both their minifigs AND the parts representing all of their new equipment. I think they ought to take advantage of this.
