  1. Before Fez came out, it and HL3 were commonly mentioned in jokes together. (Seriously, though, you guys should watch the documentary Indie Game: The Movie. It's REALLY good. )
  2. I really hope so, since that'll be a good motivation for me to finish getting what I need done for my own Quest. ...aaand I realize my quest production process is basically the same as that of Fez.
  3. Arthur, his head spinning, attacks Abel with Darkness from the Front Row through Sir Roderick's Sword. OOC: Reiterating since I forgot to change it earlier, but I've also gone ahead and fixed it in the Battle Order listing.
  4. OOC: Don't forget that Lion's Heart is Darkness-Elemental, so he gets an x4 even though it's a lower WP. Actually, in fact, BOTH mooks are dead, so all attacks this Round will have to be against Abel. I'll amend the Battle Order momentarily. EDIT: Battle Order amended above.
  5. OOC: Lion's Heart also Stuns, so Daniel didn't Seal Arthur, he simply overcame Stun. Also, my SP seems off? 5+1=6, 6+12=18, IIRC. "Keep it up, we've almost won!" Arthur casts Darkness at Abel from the Front Row through Sir Roderick's Sword. Battle Order: (and suggested actions) >Pretzel (Flying Cross vs. Abel, Back Row) >U'Voros (Does Nothing, Back Row) Tarn (Lion's Heart vs. Abel, Front Row) Arthur (Darkness, Sir Roderick's Sword vs. Abel, Front Row)
  6. I honestly am not that fussed over the gifts. I mean, new gear would be nice, but I'm more concerned with the characters' reactions, like Ella's to receiving Brunt's crown, and Valentine to Arthur's misguided anger while her other son is in danger at the academy--and what a complex situation that is! If I have to wait a little longer for a really cool reply full of Sandy-ness, I'm fine with that.
  7. OOC: Not a waste, Jinxed stacks with Lucky, so you now get 4 rolls against Cicero. I only put Pretzel and U'Voros ahead of you for the Free Hits and more chances to roll Sentinel/Angel, but they won't be able to kill him before your turn.
  8. JimB needs to put some money into that Banana Bladerang of his, it'd be super useful if it only had an Amethyst and Diamond (and maybe a bit more WP).
  9. Arthur has something of an air of nobility around him (think a very light London accent), but as he's spent time in Eubric and especially when he's feeling moody or devious it'll drop out and resort to slang and shortened words--ironically enough, he picked it up primarily from Atramor, who he now hates. I'm tempted to make a U'kin as my second character, but I'm not quite sure how she'd tie in to Arthur's storyline. I don't think I'd go for an orc or half-orc, but maybe another race with a distinctive but unobtrusive speech pattern. Well, either that or a human female with a Midlands Irish accent, since I've seen some smart but readable ways of writing that phonetically. Or maybe an elf...though I don't know if anyone else could imagine Quenya spoken with an Irish accent.
  10. "Excellent work, everyone. Why don't we gang up on Cicero while he's Jinxed and Master U'Voros is protecting us, shall we?" Battle Order: (and suggested actions) Pretzel (Dual Staff v. Cicero, Front Row) U'Voros (Dastan Spear v. Cicero, Front Row) Tarn (Lion's Heart v. Cicero, Front Row) Arthur (Darkness, Sir Roderick's Sword v. Cicero, Front Row) Enchantments go to my shield again now, and if Cicero's dead I'll switch to Daniel)
  11. Next time you make your players fight a floor you should let them deal damage to the enemies below according to character weight.
  12. You're just sitting there laughing, aren't you, Sandy? EDIT: Was going to ask a question, but realized that even asking might be spoilery.
  13. "Pretzel, I think fighting from the Back Row with your Flying Cross will be more effective against these ruffians--also, you'll be able to handle Daniel all on your own." Seeing Tarn glancing concernedly at Ella he adds, "She'll be fine, Master Tarn. We'll make sure of that. If you could throw that unlucky Horseshoe at Cicero from the back, it'll help out a lot. Master U'Voros, if you could also attack Cicero from the back, we'll be in good shape." Arthur himself gulps the Nostrum from his Duplovian Swift Halberd and casts Darkness at Sir Abel from the Back Row. Battle Order: (And Suggested Actions) >Pretzel (Flying Cross vs. Daniel, Back Row) >Tarn (Unlucky Horseshoe vs. Cicero, Back Row) >U'Voros (Dastan Spear vs. Cicero, Back Row) >Arthur drinks Nostrum from Duplovian Swift Halberd >Arthur (Darkness, Duplovian Swift Halberd vs. Sir Abel, Back Row) OOC: For this Round only, if I roll Enchant, it goes to the halberd.
  14. Steeling himself for a hostile response, Arthur casts his Scroll of Poisoning on Sir Roderick's Sword. "Sorry, folks, but you haven't given me a solid enough reason not to pursue the book. If y'all want to take the monk's offer, that's fine by me, but the princess is right--we don't answer to you. We do what we see fit. Besides, I know Ella. She's a prophetess, a princess, and a very clever woman to boot--if she believes her visions are telling her to pursue the book, then I trust her judgment, more than I trust that of strangers I just met."
  15. Endgame. You're just...not going to win with this boss. No one is taking her seriously anymore after those typos. Just have her curse her clumsy human tongue or something and get on with it.
  16. LEGO...LEGO why...? I need to eat, LEGO, stop making so many awesome sets!!! (No, I'm kidding, don't stop, food is overrated. )
  17. "Well, if I'm any indication, I'd say 'a little of both' is a pretty accurate assessment." Arthur's tone is skeptical, but diplomatic. "Yeah, I'm going to need some more proof y'all are on the up-and-up before I trust you. Your words are pretty--but so are the Wolfgang's. How do I know this 'Lord of Light' isn't hoarding all this knowledge so he can use it for himself? The last Light-obsessed person I met turned out to be a deranged fragment of a god that we ended up having to beat down to prevent it from trying to take over the world. Look at it from our perspective--how do we know we shouldn't be preventing you from learning this knowledge?"
  18. "You still haven't explained what sort of dangers could possibly come out of finding this book," he says diplomatically. "How does our finding this book hurt anybody else?"
  19. Impostor Karie has a 25% chance of appearing in a the Normal-type Friend Safari (if the Karie species is already present), and is guaranteed to have at least two perfect IVs. By the way, Sandy, how are those remaining Tidings gifts going? I hope you haven't forgotten.
  20. So lovely to see more of Karen Traviss' work getting completely trashed. You know. In case there was some of it that hadn't been de-canonized yet.
  21. Dammit, why does TLG hate PC gamers so much?! Is it REALLY so much to ask that we get the same promotions as the console gamers?
  22. "Oh, sod, you're not with the Hinckwells, are you? Because I've had just about enough of them today. And what's this about 'some records better left buried'? From what I hear, we're after a glorified tour guide--a detailed and in all likelihood very well-written one, mind--but surely nothing to cause concern. I mean, it's not like we're talking about a copy of the Pandemonicon, are we?"
  23. "I knew a Sophie before I left home, but that was four years and several continents back. A bit young to be a criminal mastermind, though--and besides, she was a philosopher. Always seemed to be off in her own world..." OOC: Literary reference. "I guess you didn't hear about the Hovels riots last year, eh, Pretzel? Happened right outside the Shrine we just left, as a matter of fact. Regular people do have the ability to kill on a whim and get away with it--it's called anonymity. And again--how is this any different than Heroica? All someone has to do is shell out a little gold for us, and they've got a crack team of master assassins at their fingertips. Hel, I've seen Quests listed for no reward at all, asking for people who wanted the job for the sake of it. Not to mention the fact that Heroica lets almost anyone join..." "Hate to break it to you, Pretzel, but the change is on the way, and it's already happening--with or without the Ji Pei. A guy in Dastan--Blackenord, I think was his name--built a bunch of killer robots as part of an assassination plot, called 'em 'Chimaera Guards'. You remember 'em, don't you, Tarn? Anyway, we killed them, I took my Topaz off his body, but a couple of the assassins got away, and later we find out they took a bunch of Chimaera Guards with them. Those things have been spread who knows where, it's only a matter of time before SOMEONE in the wide world starts building them for themselves. I, for one, would rather have some Ji Pei tech on our side before someone else comes in with an army of robots we'd have to fight off." "Fair 'nuff. I feel the same way about the Hinckwells."
  24. "You're a lucky man, then, Pretzel, if you've never been stabbed in the back by the people you're working for." "Power abhors concentration. Sooner or later, it always end up split among many. Automatons can be stolen. Automatons can be reprogrammed. If any one power amasses them in force, another will find a way to make them their own. Make no mistake--any period in which machines fight people will be brief--especially if the Ji Pei have anything to say about it. They seem a remarkably peaceful sort, truly wanting to make the world a safer, more civilized place."
  25. Actually, question: these warehouses aren't at Guffington Manor, are they? Because if it's the manor I want to write Arthur a brief reaction to realizing it's where he spoke with demons just a year ago. EDIT: I accidentally a word.
