As I recall, you added the "No healing" clause as a balancing agent. In my view, because the helmet blocks all Ether-based attacks, it should also block Clerical healing (which is Ether-based). The Healing Staff isn't Ether-based, so it shouldn't be blocked.
-
Arthur offers his hand to the Witch to help her up. "Good fight. But what was that business with the transformation? I still feel a bit slimy..." Arthur returns to the Hall, victorious in the Arena for the first time.
-
No, it's immune to clerical healing, which works on a different principle (the helmet is immune to healing because it's immune to ALL Ether-driven things). If it was immune to all healing, then Potions shouldn't work, but Q75 shows they do.

Arthur repeats.

Someone needs to find a way to combine it with the "Karie Acting" meme. That's something that I feel strongly about, actually: both Mages and offensively-oriented Scroll-using Clerics burn through Ether at an alarming rate, and that stuff is expensive. I'd like to see more Tonics, Grand Tonics, and Ether Cores dropped as loot in parties with multiple Ether-users--they seem to be getting the shaft compared to the other consumables. It's kind of a shame Illdria forbade PvP on the ship. Hoke vs. Guts could have been a very interesting fight mechanically, as Hoke's one of the few Heroes who has the SP to take on Guts one-on-one. Yeah, I really didn't realize how nuts that unicorn helmet was when I bought it--though to be fair, I'd had my deal with Sisco set since before his hiatus (since just after 53, I believe) and given up on it during said hiatus, and the Unicorn Helmet was originally intended as a "huh, that's interesting" alternative to a Duplovian Helmet of the Guard (which was going to be my main helm through at least Mystic Knight and Regulator, because Healing Staff). Now, though...it's safe to say, I'll probably save my Duplovian Helmet for emergencies. The question now becomes...should I stick immunities on it? I didn't plan it this way, but with the Sword, I can protect myself from negative effects and withstand a fair amount of rolled Damage and Special Damage (and I have Healing Staves/Potions if my health gets too low)while actually (marginally) increasing my odds of rolling Enchant. Is it worth it to prevent some of those effects entirely, allowing me to use a slightly lower WP weapon to increase my chance to hit at the cost of not rolling Enchant quite as much?

Arthur again casts Darkness at Karie through the Sword of the Vampir from the Back Row.
-
Arthur as per current battle ruling repeats.

Trusting his sword to do its work, Arthur casts Darkness through the Sword of the Vampir from the Back Row again.

I think the main issue is that (according to what some people insinuated) MDM's loot distribution asked for the rogues to take money out of pocket to add to the loot pool. I haven't run the numbers myself, so I don't know if that's actually the case.
-
I need to re-read the numbers--did MDM's loot distribution ask for Gold out of the Rogues' pockets or not? Or did it simply let the Rogues forego gold from the loot pool?
-
OOC: Actually, according to the ruling, it's the Arena Master who chooses the action, taking the action that would be most beneficial to the Hexed Hero if the Hero hadn't been Hexed. (I looked it up, it's here. )
-
It really depends on the Quest and on who's involved; originally in 77, I planned to keep my own Gold as usual and just keep everyone buffed with my Scrolls and consumables (and my supply of Grand Tonics), but as time went on and loot wasn't coming in, I decided it would be fairer to everyone to add my earnings to the community loot--and I noticed that suddenly my fellow players became more willing to support an optimal strategy for using the Overkill Gloves (Frail the Overkiller's target before they strike, let the powerful Overkiller attack a weak target, etc.). Honestly, it's worked so well that I'll probably keep the same strategy, even if I decide to go back to Sorcerer, just because it's a nice thing to do. That said, it's a huge step from a Rogue offering it to a party leader demanding it. While I totally understand just not giving any Gold to Rogues who've rolled a Shield or two, demanding to dip into that pool and distribute to others is another thing entirely. That said, however, Rogues, you should consider being a bit more free with your Gold when it comes to loot distro. Not only are you more likely to get cool stuff if you've been generous, but you're also less likely to get all of us Gold-earners nerfed if it's benefiting everyone--the non-earners lose their incentive to nerf if they're benefiting from it.
-
It seems like I'm surprisingly well-equipped for the Arena. Which is odd, because I so rarely use it.
-
OOC: I believe only Karie needs to choose an action, as mine is decided for me.

Sensing upcoming shenanigans, Arthur switches back to casting Darkness at Karie from the Back Row, through the Sword of the Vampir.
-
"All right, time to end this." Before she tries that transformation business again... Arthur casts Darkness at Karie from the Back Row through Sir Roderick's Sword.
-
This is probably the slowest Arena battle ever. (Talking about Kinto and my strategy, not your running, WBD. )
-
Arthur repeats.
-
Arthur repeats, again switching to Darkness magic.
-
OOC: Sorry, should have mentioned: I'd prefer Enchants go to my shield. Arthur notices an oddly-discolored Scroll hanging out of the massive sheath of parchment the Witch carried. "What's that one, Karie? Doesn't look like one of mine..." Arthur casts another Lightning spell through the Sword of the Vampir.
-
Arthur repeats again, this time with Lightning magic.
-
Do permanent effects get replaced onto the Hero at the beginning of the Round or the beginning of their turn? Because if it's the former, De'kra should be able to take his action in Round 4, and the alternation of Slowed should take place from there (i.e. unable to act Round 5, able to act Round 6, etc.).
-
Kinto, the changeling should only have De'kra's immunities if it's in his form.
-
"C'mon, Karie, don't hold back. You've got Scrolls, use 'em!" Arthur repeats, this time using Earth magic instead.
-
Selecting a gem at random, Arthur casts light at Karie through the Sword of the Vampir from the Back Row.
