Good gods that took entirely too long for me to post. I kind of want to keep Arthur and Pretzel's amicable relationship going, mostly because it's so bizarre and illogical and because Pretzel represents pretty much everything that real-world me despises (and several that Arthur hates as well). It's just funny to me that they're getting along like old pals in spite of being polar opposites--and so ultimately, that means making Arthur not launch into a wall of text when Pretzel says something he doesn't like. (The irony, of course, being that the usually-succinct Pretzel, who normally belittles his adversaries rather thoroughly within a couple of lines of speech, has actually spoken more on this topic than any of the other characters. )

Heroica RPG - Quest#92: The Prophetess and the Warrior

"Eh, 'honor' is just a word people with tiny dicks use to justify overcompensating for their 'short'-comings." "Besides, you can't take over the world if everyone else has the same firepower you do. I mean, it's what keeps Eubric at peace--only problem is that we're using real people instead of machines. And in case you haven't noticed, Heroica isn't too terribly great at questioning their employers, either." -

"Did you now? Shortly before our battle with Wren, I had the pleasure of recovering one of their automatons that the Bonapartes had illegally stolen and attempted to smuggle out of the city. It was a bit of a primitive model, however, and one of the thieves' conspirators hijacked it to fight against us. Perhaps one of the prototypes of the warriors they sent with you?" "It seems to me a fantastic means of preserving life. Think, if you will, of a battlefield where Heroes like you and I are no longer needed; no blood spilt in battle, all combat carried out by machines. Does that not strike you as better than the world we live in now, where, to protect the many, we are forced to be essentially--for better or for worse--paid killers?" -

"Not impossible--we'd just need the right tools. Maybe the Ji Pei could help us? They're extremely talented inventors, and I've helped them in the past." "As for finding the book..." Arthur pulls out his Magic Compass "...perhaps this could help? Not to mention, Princess Ella is a prophet--divining the unknown is her forte." -
I think the idea (from Docken's perspective) is, "if you're going to make the monsters strong enough to hurt me, you'd better prepare to get hurt right back". Of course, what he really needs is a Mystic Knight to Enchant that up for him...

"I'm in. My only question is, how're we supposed to breathe down there? I mean, if I had a Sapphire or an Aquamarine or something, we'd be set, but I don't want to see our Prophetess and Warrior share the previous ones' fate." -
[Software] LDD2PovRay
Flipz replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Sort of an odd question; it's more about LDD and POV-Ray than either of the converters, but since LDD2POV-Ray is the reason I'm encountering it... Does anyone know how to translate the part coordinates found in LDD files into coordinates for POV-Ray? I'm wanting to put some light sources inside a number of transparent gem pieces (to represent the glowing embers on torches in a night scene), and I think I've worked out what POV-Ray code I should use (though I still haven't found where to paste it in in POV-Ray itself), I just need to find the right coordinates. Also, tips on adjusting the LDD2POV-Ray sliders to best simulate an outdoor nighttime environment would be much appreciated; I have a nighttime sky sphere, but turning all the lights off just makes the render look like it's straight out of LDD. -

Arthur's eyes light up with delight and surprise as Pretzel mentions the Magpie, but before he can launch into a tirade on the Bonaparte's sins, they arrive at the Shrine. He returns Ella's glance with a smile, but his eyes go cold at the mention of Atramor. He stiffens involuntarily. "Yes...of course." He clears his throat. "Master Kn--erm, Master U'Voros mentioned you were having dreams about the lost book of the Princess and the Warrior. He was a bit light on the details, though. I'm glad to hear they're pleasant visions, though--it would be a nice change of pace, for me at least." He grins widely, and adds, "Unless you'd like to discuss it privately with Master Tarn and fill the rest of us in later." He quickly turns away to stifle a snicker. Arthur considers mentioning the letter he'd sent at Grogmas, but thinks better of it. It would be like Valentine to mess that up for me, too. And if the princess simply forgot, well...no sense in embarrassing her, especially in front of Tarn. -
Like it wasn't already trying to kill us anyway.

You should probably spoilertag that, if you're talking about your finale Quest. (Also, we cross-posted in 92. )

OOC: I drank a Grand Tonic, so I should be down one of those and up 15 Ether. "Exactly. Though the Wolfgang we spoke of earlier...their leader, Ulric, wants to become Eubric's Emperor. So does the man that Black Knight with the blue shield works for, though neither he nor his employer would admit it--he doesn't want the title, he just wants the power. All six Houses want power over this city in their own way, which is why there's so much anger in this place. Personally, I'm partial to the Shadeaux--the rivals of the Hinckwells, like the man with the blue shield. The Shadeaux's current leader isn't much better than that of the Hinckwells, but I have more faith in Noctus Shadeaux's children than I do in those of the Hinckwells." "As for the Town Watch--what you see as the 'army'--well, having once been a member of them I can tell you they're a diverse lot. They're funded pretty evenly by the Houses, so they're not particularly partial to any of them, but not a lot of that cash trickles down to the front-liners who deserve it. There's a lot of bribery, and a fair number of folks are rather sympathetic to the Wolfgang, despite standing orders to arrest or kill the Wolfgang leaders on sight. While we're on the subject...I appreciate their stated goal, but I just don't trust them to actually do it. A lot of their people are robbers and thugs--not uncommon in the Hovels--and their leader, Ulric, is a heartless chessmaster who has allied himself with a monstrous child-snatching sorceress who, if the stories are true, was involved in provoking the great battle that led to the sinking of the continent of Mercution beneath the sea. I don't use the term 'evil' a lot, but if it applies to anyone it's her." -
You still have like 4 replies left for Tidings, maybe some of the old-named ones can be prepared especially for you.

Arthur nods curtly, tossing a Grand Potion to Tarn and U'Voros, before himself drinking a Grand Tonic and another Mead. "Wouldn't have it any other way, Andrew. Master Raider, I'd like the Mead, if you don't mind, other than that I'm fine with whatever. Master Knight, which direction did you say our destination was? I'd like to move on as quickly as possible." He also removes the consumables from his hollow weapons, instead placing a Smelling Salts in the Dagger and a Nostrum in the Halberd. -

"Master Tarn, please allow me the honor of finishing him off." Arthur casts Darkness at Donny, Front Row, Sir Roderick's Sword. -
I don't think we ever got a final answer from Legonater. Obviously I'm biased, but recalling that immunity to healing was only added afterward as a balancing factor and because the helmet blocks Ether-based attacks (Immunity to Magic), I'd argue that the staff would still work, because it's not Ether-based healing (and we've already seen that Potions, another form of non-Ether based healing, do work thanks to Quest 75).

OOC: Pretzel was at the top of the order, so he would have taken the Free Hit. Also? Dammit! Arthur sighs and casts Darkness at 'Donny' from the Back Row. "Might as well put me at the back of the order again, Master Raider. Master Paladin, care to heal our friends?" -
Old topic, I know, but I have (debatably) useful info. FC: 3625-9584-9417 Safari: Electric-type, with Electabuzz and Pachirisu (haven't beaten E4 yet, so no third at the moment)

How would Benji's Precision Bow be counted versus Baltar? He's immune to 3 of its 4 elements by special immunity (i.e. the way a Hero would be in the Arena), but would the Wind element still let him hit, or would he be completely immune? (Yes, I know he used his other bow, the thought just occurred to me. ) I think we had this conversation regarding the Arena, but I don't recall the end decision. Also, on the subject of Baltar, Zeph, you owe Benji 100-62=38 Gold. ...so why did you decide to host BOTH sets of Overkill Gloves at the same time?

"Change of plans, Master Paladin. You should raise Master Raider, and then he can resume attacking 'Donny'." Battle Order: (and suggested actions/actions for NPCs) Pretzel (Phoenix Essence on Tarn) Tarn (Lion's Heart vs. 'Donny', Front Row) Friendly Sailor (Do Nothing) Arthur (Darkness, Sir Roderick's Sword vs. Unarmed Pongcanis, Front Row) Guard Andrew (City Watch Halberd vs. 'Donny', Back Row) Grady is uncooperative OOC: Also, shouldn't Grady be down the potion that he drank? -
Gah, meant to say Nerwen instead of Sarge. But yeah, Maurice, too. Lord, the battles would either stretch out for a year apiece, or else the whole damn thing would get autorolled in one fell swoop.

Stick him on an anti-Order Imperial Quest with Sarge and Boomingham, and have the OI offer a better deal than the party employer. Observe hilarity ensue. ...actually, now I want to see an all-Paladin Quest with Cronk, Boomingham, Sarge, and Pretzel. Though I imagine it would be awful to run as a QM, what with constant Guardian Angel, Deflected Damage, and Special Guard spam.
