These look great, Chris! I can't wait to see the building itself.

Here's what I have as of now. Notice I've extended it back 48 studs, and work on the front some more. I also ran out of reddish brown 1x2s

Welcome to Eurobricks, towwy!

Thanks!I know many people will think the trucks are too big, but I think they are realistic. North American fire trucks tend to be wider than both European ones, and regular trucks here. That's my Chevy Lowrider ChromeBricks.com

Coming from my son who didn't want to leave his mommy to come anywhere with his daddy...

Thanks! And you know what they look like in real life . Thank you, Lightningtiger! I thought you might find it large, but I can't please everyone, can I? I'll be sure to keep this topic updated. Thanks! Always good to hear from you! I'm going to try to get another update in here today, as well.

Some of you may remember my Sausage Factory MOC last, when I posted a WIP thread around the same time last year. Now, I have a new MOC to share with you. This time around, it's a fire station. The specific fire station is Toronto Fire Station 134 which is located near where I live. I've taken a few pics of the real thing for inspiration: Here is what I have as of December 23rd: I've built a lot more since then, including building most of the right wall, as well as finishing off much of the front of the building. I'll be updating this thread periodically until it's completed.

May have found a gold mine, worth it?

You can't post in the BSTF forum until you have at least ten posts. Personally, I wouldn't go for it. I know that some would prefer to buy the sets as they came, but I'd buy the pieces individually on Bricklink.com. You can find the instructions on Peeron.com. I hope this helps! -
There isn't any special way, and I really don't think it's necessary. I personally find using bold and coloured font obnoxious.

I personally don't think that's the best idea. What would be considered as artistic MOCs could be widely interpreted. For instance, I consider most of my MOCs art, regardless of whether or not others do. I think it would do more harm than good . Being Jewish myself, I can tell you that I don't necessarily find those MOCs offensive. It all lies in the context. If, say, the MOC was to show the horrors of the Holocaust, or as a sort of memorial, I think it'd be a great idea, whereas if it were to parade around Hitler or the Nazi's, I be understandably offended.

They're available on Bricklink.com. Go to parts, and look for Modulex (as well as Modulex Brick, Modulex Tile, etc.). Regular Lego

In the GTA? No. In Ontario? Yes. There are a few that you could join. -ParLUGment -Encompasses all of Ontario, though is centred in Ottawa. Not entirely sure how often they meet. -WHACKOLUG -WHACKOLUG is the other I know about. They have meetings once a month, but the meetings are in St. Jacobs just outside of Kitchener Waterloo. They're planning a few displays around the year. They're just shy of their first birthday. They also have a teen subsidiary, TONLUG, of which I am co-founder. I hope this helps! If you need any more information, let me know, and I'll try to help you out.

I noticed that there is a dark tan brick to the left of the statue that seems to be out of it's hole. I'd like to walk over to it, look if there is anything under it. If there is, I'd like to pick it up. Then, I'd like to put the stone back down in it's place.

So that's why you wanted to go to the Eaton centre . I really wish they still did this, it would be amazing to see.

It all depends on the situation. From my experience, many AFOLs believe that flesh figs should be kept to licensed themes, whereas yellow figs should be used for the other themes. I disagree. I feel that you should try out both on each MOC, because sometimes flesh figs do look better; even for evergreen themes. I do however, believe that you should stick to one or the other.

I think the pace at which you're doing everything is great, it's just that the players are posting quite quickly for me. I'm still playing, though -
Be patient. What country did you purchase from? Assuming you went with your standard shipping option, packages can sometimes take upwards of three weeks to arrive. In fact, most orders I've made have taken at least two weeks.

Ralph, let me start off by saying that we both know I build at a slightly larger scale. That being said, recently, I've been trying to build at 1/45 scale. I think that while exactly 1/45 isn't for me, this sure is a great guide for people who want to start by building in the odd wide vehicle range. Many of these tips can be applied to different scale vehicles - I use almost all of them on my own. I'll be adding some more thoughts tomorrow. P.S. I finally found out which book you've talked about as inspiration for you wrecker and reefer truck. It turns out I own it, just not in a language I understand.

I think that is correct, though for some countries that get Lego shipments later, it would probably be the August release.
-
I'll join you in that one!

My oldest set is Metro Park and Service Tower from 1988. I got it off ebay a few years ago.

"MOC" parts
Ricecracker replied to Enilder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Make a list of all the parts he uses. I believe it shows them in the MLCAD files he gives to you. Use you list assemble a wanted list on Bricklink, then go through stores trying to find the parts needed. If you have further questions about Bricklink, I'd suggest reading through this thread. If you're questions aren't answered, just post it and we'll try to help as best we can.
