  1. I assumed, and still do for that matter, that it was just the name for the forum they talk on.
  2. Happy birthday, you two!
  3. Yep, they came in older Scala sets. Here is the Bricklink catalog entry for them.
  4. A) He already has protested them. B) If he still wants to, he can look them up.
  5. What doesn't Bricklink have? Here is the link to the catalog entry. I hope this helps.
  6. There are a bunch on Bricklink.com. They also have the older black/green sticker version.
  7. Huh? I said the scum win once they outnumber us. We win once the scum are all dead.
  8. That'd be impossible. Remember, the scum win when they outnumber us. I have. What do you think everything I said yesterday was. I also clearly said to go through that, as it is my argument.
  9. From Siegfried's Ranks post (also included in Jipay's original one)
  10. Due to everything that has been said both today and yesterday, I will Vote: Matthew Right/Sandy
  11. Two more BL orders
  12. So for those that are wondering what exactly this set is, it's a Racers set given away at Mcdonald's restaurant's in the Happy Meals. I don't know where around the world they are available, though I know they are in Canada, and I've heard rumours that they are in the United States. Name: 6x2 Turbo Theme: Racers/Promotional (McDonald's) Year: 2009 Pieces: 3+DSS Minifigs: 0 Price: CAD $1.79 USD Unknown EUR Unknown Bricklink Brickset: N/A Peeron: N/A Lego.com: N/A flickr set The Bag: Front: The set is clearly pictured, with an easy on the eye backgound. Set name and number in the series are visible. Back: Just a Mise En Garde in three languages. Here is what it reads: Instructions/Information Card: Front: I really like the animation of the person. For some reason, it reminds me of the Vancouver 2010 mascots. If you follow the instructions, you get to here. Feel free to use my code. Back: Here are the instructions. Grey/black differentiating is near impossible. In fact, so is orange/black. Do you think I can handle it? Read on.... Contents: In their totality: I'm not sure why they put the extra bag in, but the sleeve for the stickers is a good idea, why can't a Lego use it on actual sets ? Pieces with their upside down: Axles are metal, wheels aren't removable, unfortunately. As you can see, the only real access points for parts are a two by four section in the middle of each piece, though you can connect the pieces through the open parts, as illustrated below. Sticker Sheet: The material of the sticker sheet is a bit firmer - like construction paper versus regular printer paper. If any of you have bought Kinder Surprises in the past, it's somewhat like that. There are some great stickers on there too, like the ones with the mud spatter and the exhaust. They even number the stickers for us, so we know which one goes where. I wish I'd seen them before stickering my Dodge Ram 3500 Rally Truck. The Build I'm going to do all the steps here, so be patient. Step one: It's starting to take shape . The back is one bricks height higher of the ground than the front, like raised suspension. It's an interesting idea, though I personally don't like it, especially when the piece is on it's own because it looks very awkward and doesn't give any room to play with the angling of the vehicle, if someone decides to use it for another MOC. Step Two: This one was almost as hard as the first one. Not quite, but close. There is some sort of air scoop right behind the cab, though I've never seen anything like it. They were obviously molding the front after this piece, and I think it turned out OK. I even included a rear view shot: You can easily see how the back is raised. Mommy! Look what I built! I connected the sections together using the open sections on the underside of the parts, as I mentioned earlier. And it's true; I built it. Verdict: Minifigs: N/A Parts: 5/10 Three exclusive parts, though at $0.596, they are almost six times the average price per piece ration. Price: 9/10 It's the cheapest set out there, and includes some decent stickers to boot. Playability: 6/10 Fun at the table and on the car ride home, but I don't think it'll see much more action after that. Design: 1/10 Three rather <insert that tiresome argument> pieces stuck on top of each other. That's it. Overall: 21/40. Mediocre at best. However, I think it's at an unbeatable price. Therefore, I think it's worth the buy - if you can find it. As you might have figured out by now, it is only available at McDonald's restaurants.
  13. With the beginning of the new year, Lego is giving us reason to celebrate. Today I'm going to be reviewing for you set 8197 Highway Chaos from the Tiny Turbos subtheme of the Racers theme. I'll start off with some set info: Set Name: Highway Chaos Set Number: 8197 Theme: Racers Subtheme: Tiny Turbos Pieces: 142 Year: 2010 (November 24th 2009 release in some parts of the world) Price: CAD $19.99/USD $14.99/AUD $24.99/EUR 14.99/GBP 9.99 Resources: Bricklink Brickset Peeron Lego S@H flickr Now for the review! The Box: Front: A very action-oriented scene is presented to us. While there is what appears to be a bridge tress in the background, the set doesn't actually feel well suited for a bridge scene, but rather a highway scene. To each their own, I guess. Back: The back shows another slightly different view of the set, as well as the unfolding function of the ramp. Sides: Not really anything unusual here. Opening the Set Once you cut the plastic handcuffs () off the box, you pull out the fold-out-ramp, which holds the contents of the set. Car taken off the box You can see that if you take the yellow "car" off the other end, the F.O.R. (Fold-out ramp) doesn't actually come down the whole length of the box. And so continues the age-old debate surrounding packaging size. Contents: Inside the box you get this: One (1) F.O.R., one (1) instruction booklet, two (2) numbered parts bags with parts, and two (2[!]) sticker sheets. And since I know you all want to see the contents separately, here we go: Instruction Booklet: It has the same picture as on the front of the box, just with more blank space around it. Nice contrast between the darker set and the lighter sky. Bags: Bags one and two build the cars and toll booth, respectively. Sticker Sheets: I have to admit that I while I don't like putting stickers on official sets, these do seem like they'll be useful for MOCs. The Build: Bag One: Here we have bag one open and emptied. I spy with my little eye some nice parts. 1x2 Cheese The only relatively new piece; a 1x2 cheese in black. Seems like a rather useful piece if I do say so myself. Car One: The Muscle: Car one is starting to take shape. It is a pretty solid car, unlike many in the CITY line-up. Car One Complete Car one finished! But wait!? Where are the wheels? Could they be in bag two? That's right, Lego decided to put the wheels and tires in bag two for us, even though the cars are in bag one. , to say the least. Car Two: The Copper: Car two uses more single-use pieces than car one, but I think it has a nicer shape overall. Car Two Complete Complete! I think the black looks very nice against the white, though I really wish the light bar were tiled. Bag Two: Some interesting parts can be spotted. Interesting Parts: And here they are. A 6x6 Light Bluish Gray tile, and three White 2x4 tiles. The building: Bag two builds us the bulk of the set, the tollbooth on the base. The One Dissapointment The tollbooth isn't bad, but as you can see, the gate can't go fully up, meaning it'd be hard to use immediately with larger, minifig scaled vehicles. The Set The set in all of it's glory. It is actually pretty fun to have the police car chase the robbers (?), and smash through the tollbooth... WHEWWWwww.... Watch out, here come the cops! The Verdict Scoring: Minifigs: N/A Parts: 8/10 A nice selection of common and uncommon pieces, including some new ones (2x4 tiles), and some quite old, revived ones (6x6 tiles). Price: 8.5/10 At 10.6 cents a piece (U.S.), it's almost perfect. Playability: 7/10 I found this set to be extremely fun to play with, and I think children will too. The downside is, as a standalone set, it seems to have a very set storyline. Design: 6/10 The racers are your average tiny turbos, and the toll booth is sparsely built. The inclusion of the extra signpost was a plus. Overall: 29.5/40 Overall, I'd recommend this to a friend. Definitely more of a parts pack, with some new (and old!) parts.
  14. Ahh, must be something from the Fellow's Pub.
  15. Yep! They had them at Toy Building Zone, but sold out, and I've seen them at TRU. Zellers also had TONS of them.
  16. The first six stud wide truck, according to Bricklink.com was Truck. I doubt anyone would be able to tell you the community's reaction, considering it came out in 1963.
  17. Someone else said it best, "I have always loved Town building. It’s not unlike an addiction in that there’s always another building to create. Different and better than the last one." I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because I see all these things in my daily life. I can go outside and be like, "Oh, I just built that!" I think that I also find it enjoyable because I can, in theory, be more accurate with my MOCs. Anyone can build a fire station, but not everybody can build one down to the last detail.
  18. Hmmm.... I think I'm going to go with this: What if I were serious? Honestly, I have a few contenders. 1) 10156 Lego Truck A great, classically designed truck, that actually looks like the real thing. 2) 7044 Rescue Chopper Yes, it may not have come at the best time, but I think it looks extremely accurate (for a Lego set), and had great playability. 3) 10182 Cafe Corner While yes, it may be an obvious choice, I think it was an amazing start for a new "theme." Many AFOLs would not have started building modular buildings without it, and it helped people up their skill level. It was also a great parts pack, too.
  19. While I'm not an admin, I'd suggest reading through this thread, and then evaluate your options. You should still wait for an admin to answer, though.
  20. But you just gave away the whole game
  21. I have grey hair, and I'm 14
  22. While there did used to be a production facility at the Enfield headquarters, it is no more. I can confirm this as a fact, I've been there .
  23. Yay! T&T is definitely my favourite forum even if I'm not quite as active in it as other forums. Thanks to all the staff who help keep it in tip-top shape.
  24. Look under the different minifigure parts on the catalog. The hood would be under minifig headgear.
  25. I'm talking about all the other votes you've made. And you'd rather kill someone that you know is loyal, yet can still kill, than someone who you think might be Mafia?
