  1. for many of those, you twisting while you pull really helps. Half-pins stuck to the bottom of the small antennas on the other hand...
  2. For the one on the right, use two brick separators. Put one on top like normal, and put the studs of the second one on the bottom of the round plate. Then pull the two handles towards each other. Brick separators work fine there, or you could bend the baseplate slightly.
  3. I assume they used the one with the technic pin for added sturdiness. I don't think it would damage the figs much, if at all. They're just hitting the ball.
  4. Lalalalala I can't hear you Want me to point out all of your typos and grammatical errors? Great review, Svelte. Thanks. This set has an amazing parts selection, and is incredibly designed. My hat is tipped to Jaimie; I think it's time for another appreciation week!
  5. I've checked one of mine, and it's perfect. If it's really such a big issue, get a free replacement part from Lego directly.
  6. When I enter eurobricks.com in my browser, it takes me to the list of forums, not the home page. Is this a wide-spread issue, or is it something that's been changed. It only started today.
  7. Here's the LUGNuts group Col. Brick was talking about. It's a great group with monthly building challenges that push your skill. You don't need to be a super-amazing car builder to join.m If you go to the group's tags, you can see minifig, minifigscale, etc. Click on one to get all MOCs with that tag. What I do is simple. I look at what makes the vehicle unique, like it's overall shape, curves, mudguards, lights, etc. I then make a mock-up of each part, and assemble them to form a whole. Once that is done, I fiddle with it more to get the shape to look more smooth and fix whatever doesn't look right.
  8. Another thing to mention is the exorbitant price of bricks from Design By Me. Granted, they are picked out by hand in Poland for each and every order, Bricklink.com will be able to supply you with much more reasonably priced parts, along with a larger assortment.
  9. Thanks Dave! It took a while to get the design right, especially since it's based on the one they actually use. Once I found the cuffs for the handle, I knew it was perfect. Feel free to use the design. I also made a Stihl circular saw, but haven't been able to get half-decent pictures yet . Neither can I! You'll be able to see it in June no matter what. Jenn's taking it down even if I can't go. Whether or not she can put it back together is another issue...
  10. Thanks. It took a while to figure out what use for the handle, but it fits perfectly. Thanks! Glad it's so recognizable. I've got another WIP shot today. I've built up the back and the sides, and have done about half of the top roof:
  11. It seems we've all turned into bats! We're only able to use sonar to see this now, huh?
  12. Yeah, the FFellow.
  13. Nevermind, I got it figured out.
  14. I tried it, but it's both too tall and wide. Thanks for the suggestion, though, always nice hearing from you. Thanks! The city actually uses orange ones, but a sub-contractor uses yellow ones .
  15. Hi again. Taking a quick break from my fire station (Which has to be finished in a week - Yikes!), I built this small MOC, a Bombardier Sidewalk Snowplow. I was inspired to build one after seeing it parked outside a convenience store near me. Bombardier doesn't make these anymore, but they've proven useful in Toronto's arsenal against snow. Here's the operator loading up the salter with road salt. To finish off, here's a night shot. I'm working on instructions for these, but I'm not entirely happy with the way the plow came out. If you have any ideas for it, let me know! As always, check the pictures out on my photostream.
  16. Lego has officially said that it will be released tomorrow, March 1st.
  17. Why, thank you!
  18. Great article TheBrickster! I think that there is no "perfect" height, which means that each door has it's uses; the 3x4 door looks great in Bill Ward's camper, and the 4x5 door is good for smaller, more derelict buildings. Building on that, each door has it's own distinct look or style. The 4x5 would fit in perfectly on a farmhouse or on another more rural type building, whereas the new 4x6 door has a more contemporary look. The change in door styles may be just to keep up the times. After all, the 4x5 was first produced in 1978. Another idea that I'd like to point to is building your own doors. On my fire station, that's exactly what I'm doing. There are three doors, two of which have a second behind it. By building my own, I'm able to get the perfect look and size. These doors are 5 bricks one plate tall. I was going to start a thread comparing the prefab doors to brick-built ones, but I'm not sure of the need anymore. There also was a second 4x5 door, the framed glass ones.
  19. I'll add my list here: MOCs that are definitely going: -Toronto Fire Station 134 MOCs that might go: -CAT Feller-Buncher -Kenworth T170 RORO Truck -Sausage Factory and Customs Shop(Not pictured) -An assortment of smaller vehicles.
  20. I totally forgot about this thread . I guess I should probably give def +1 for a great transaction back in December .
  21. I'd like to borrow the camera, take a picture of the movement on the ceiling, and stare at it intently, to see if I can make out anything more.
  22. I was pretty annoyed with Canada's performance in curling, but, oh well.
  23. The mixer in the orange work truck, obviously .
  24. Since it's fairly obvious that the statues didn't just walk away, I think the logical thing to do would be to check the floor around where the statues were.
  25. Check out the 'Ideas for New City Sets' topic, and post your ideas there. That way, two things happen. The board isn't cluttered up with many threads for new ideas, and when the Ambassadors look to that thread for suggestions to pass on to Lego, your idea will be there.
