Very nice, Seeing this makes me want to set my city up again, I've got a modular city set up, but I miss seeing all the smaller, more suburban sets with cars and trucks running around. And that beach! mmmmm

Oh sweet, I picked up the Bakery as a prize last year. It was my first Winter Village set and I like it, even if snow has no right to be where I live, especially around Christmas. I then ordered the Cottage recently when S@H were clearing them out at 20% off. Now I will be able to get a hold on the Post Office without paying exorbitant after market prices, just the ridiculous S@H prices and delivery charges.

Well done LT, it's great to see it all laid out in full. You truly do some inspiring work.

Kristel, that's a different group of people, we aren't involved with them, though many of our members were last year. -

Servo Showdown: Voting Topic! (All Forum Members Welcome to Vote)
Xyver replied to LegoCityMann's topic in LEGO Town
They are all great entries, trying to work out who to put down votes for is very hard. You have all given me great tips for updating my own servo. Anyway, my votes are: Zed_43 - 2 for fitting everything in, that's a great use of space. I especially love the pipes and pump at the front. ER0L - 2 an old fashioned building, with lots of extras, just great. greg3 - 1 thinking outside the box with a boat servo, a great rendition, especially the use of all the tires. To everyone else, well done, I wanted to give you all 1 point as well, but that just doesn't get us any closer to a winner. -
A few friends and I are putting together a train layout for the upcoming model train shows in the area, so we built a table that is 20x6 32x32 baseplates. We then built a raised section that is 6x4.5 (4 feet I think, just the lengths of wood) on which I have built my city and a subway station underneath. The subway isn't finished yet, hence no photos, but you can see the grey baseplates underneath and the dark bley of the platform. Once the platform is finished, I'll post some photos of it and how I've done the curved tunnels. I can post some photos of the table if you'd like, apart from my section, the rest only has a train track running around the outside, there is another raised section though, I can't wait to see it all filled up.

These are all great, they're giving me lots of inspiration on how to change my plain servo into something better, mainly the roof sections. I was never going to have time to enter, but everyone who has, has done a wonderful job. Good luck to you all.

Yeah, that was my original intention, I may look at remodelling once I've finished my town layout. As this will be on display at numerous shows this year, the public won't see inside anyway. If I do put something good inside, I'll cut out the side wall so people can see in. That's at the front of the display anyway so would look good. Maybe something to plan for next year, still have to finish my subway station and hotel.

Finally finished my MOD of the new Palace Cinema. I bought two sets and have increased the size of the building to 32x32. Apart from the odd plate for the floors, it is made only from pieces from the two sets (not including the extra wall on the cinema level). It has fitted nicely into the spare spot I had on my layout, and I've set the footpath onto the standard road plates, 16 wide is just too much for a footpath I feel. I only added one extra window down the left side (haven't put the poster stickers on yet) and added an extra ticket booth to the right. I've left the bottom floor bare for now, people don't see inside for displays, and I'm not good on the finer details. The top is standard also. I did change the cinema level though, using four rows instead of two and putting a wall up for the cinema and a separate projection booth. and a wider shot of the city

So was anyone on here lucky enough to pick up the pit crew yesterday? They must be extremely low in stock to only put them in a couple of servos in each state, and only for the afternoon. -

Just an update - I heard back from S@H, they gave me a tracking number (said it was done manually which is why it wasn't showing up online) and had proof of delivery. I've just called DHL and it would seem the delivery driver is an idiot, he obviously can't locate a building on a corner (or at least didn't think to ask inside for me, its only a single office so not a lot of choices) so took it back to the warehouse. They have been 'trying' to contact the sender for two weeks apparently. I've given them the business name so it should be out either today or tomorrow. The tracking details actually have it originating in Brussels, Belgium, not Denmark. Must be another warehouse. -

Artanis, when I ordered the Haunted House on day of release, it took less than two weeks to arrive, so it would've come from Denmark too. I've had a few orders of modulars, all received withing two weeks. The website says 13 business days for delivery, its now 15. If it came from Sydney, should be no more than 2-3. Other people I know have ordered the cinema around the same time as me and received them already. -

Ok, I know this is not about an Aussie Sale, but it is specific to us Aussies and didn't want to start a new thread just for this: I put in an order from Shop@Home on the 19th Feb, it says shipping date was 21st. It has not arrived yet and there is no tracking order number showing up on my order history page - previous orders have had numbers show up straight away, even though no details are available. Has anyone else had any issues with S@H delivery taking more than the specified 13 business days? all prior orders have taken no more than 2 weeks total to arrive. I have just sent in a customer support email, but thought I'd ask here if people had experience similar issues. FYI I ordered two Palace Cinemas and the winter village cottage, not sure if that would cause extra problems or not. -
I ordered two from Shop@Home on the 19th February, they still haven't arrived and no tracking details are showing up either. Not fair, I want to build this set as it looks fantastic - will be even better with the larger version I am planning. I have just contacted customer service, lets hope they give me a satisfactory answer as to where my delivery is, all previous have arrived within 2 weeks.

I'm working on a service station for my layout, but size wise it will be bigger than 32x32. It is also more a mod/combination of a few sets rather than a MOC so not sure how suitable for entry it will be. I am keeping a keen eye on this comp for inspiration though, may change things before I'm finished. If I get the time to finish it before the deadline, and can re-arrange onto a 32x32 I might just enter it. Some earlier photos from last year's layout are here and here, buildings will be similar, though more detailed and configuration will be different. Keep up the good work LT and BJ, your WIP shots look great.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Xyver replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've seen these minifigs in the plastic, they are so cool. He didn't have Ecto-1 done at that time, but having them 'busting' slimer on my city layout brought many laughs from those who recognised them (which was a lot of people). Now I just have to convince him to make me a set. I'd buy an official Lego version in a heartbeat. -

I ordered one of these yesterday with my Palace Cinema order (I ordered two so as to make a larger cinema) and couldn't pass up 30% discount direct from Lego. Just checked S@H and it is now saying 'Call to check product availability'. Glad I didn't fight the urge to buy the Cinema too hard or I may have missed out. I know the postage is expensive, and no doubt DJs will finally get this set and have it on sale, but after the sudden increase in the price of the Town Hall not long after its release, I thought it best to get it now. The Palace Cinema is only 30% more than US prices, which is a great result of us, and a lot cheaper than the other modulars, I don't expect that to last too long. -
I ordered two yesterday from S@H, going to take at least 13 days for delivery . I have a spare spot at the front of my modular layout, which is a single baseplate standalone corner. Its as if I knew this set was coming when I put my layout together. As with most of my modulars, I'm going to combine the two sets into one bigger one. So my plan is to have the building itself take up the full baseplate, with the starred footpath on the road plates instead. This also overcomes the extra large footpaths that surround all the modulars when using roadplates as well. I will post photos once I'm done, but that'll be a month of so away.

I saw it in BigW on Tuesday, so should be out everywhere I guess. -
Basculho, I would suggest browsing through the Historic Themes section and take a look at some of the magnificent work others have done. Take a good look at some of the castles and decide what shape you want, then look at how others have built something similar and work out what pieces they have used. There are also some very useful building guides, start with this one by Derfel Cadarn, that man is a genious.
