I spent several hours today fixing up this topic due to issues caused by the migration, but I guess I missed some. More work tomorrow.

Instructions for Akiyuki's Archimedes Screw Module (Type 1) are now tested and complete and are available here along with a Brickstore parts list. 71 pages 995 parts Most of the credit for reverse engineering this module goes to Courbet who did the work making an LDraw file with instruction steps. I had the easy job of formatting the instructions. I have not built this module, but it is mechanically pretty simple to there is no timing to set up.

At the moment, the plan suggests I may not have a LEGO room. Life may be difficult. I shall endeavor to perservere. Touche. Hopefully someone will donate them. -

I just bought a new house (found something I couldn't refuse) and that means I will be busy for the next month or two moving. After that, I will have no money for new projects so I will probably work on Technicopedia even more! At least it is free now that I have all the models. -

Grum's Shed

It is really impressive how far you have come with this. I screw up pretty every time I built that back hatch section. It is tricky to get right. -
Help needed on Barman's V8
Blakbird replied to dognosh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To view the file you need to "save as" from your browser and then use LDView. However the link in the Hall of Fame points to the wrong place. It points to my Brickshelf folder where I talk about my copy of Barman's V-8 I built, but this is not the original source. Barman has photo instructions on his own Brickshelf. I'll fix the link. In the mean time, here is a direct link. -

That was a joke. I was surprised no one commented on it before now. In American vernacular, a "sh!t ton" is a very large quantity of something. I guess it wasn't funny if I had to explain it!

Just a bad day for the dog. Makes you rethink what to do with the parts you buy off Bricklink though. -
I just finished building this model. Besides echoing the comments of others on what a great set it is, I was also amazed at what an excellent parts pack it is. This is a gold mine of uncommon parts in large quantities.

When you build the way grum does, you need clean parts. You don't want to buy a set that has this in its past: -
I have been working on the bucket wheel excavator review for the last several weeks. Now that that is published, I am working on updating Technicopedia with the 2016 models. After that, I will be able to get back to Akiyuki again.

I have not had this problem, but if it is every 90 degrees then it would seem to be a discontinuity where the ring gears meet. Check your yellow ring gear joints and make sure they are tight. In general LEGO parts are designed to have a 0.1mm gap when joined, so I suppose it is not surprising that this little bump in a gear is detectable.
