I really like this habitation module! Good looks and great playability. The scene is nicely composed too.

I'm guessing - dead slow! Although interestingly, the US military is currently researching 8-legged robots to carry supplies on difficult terrain.

Spencer's diary, Junali 3815 After an easy ride on Xerillian last week, I've been called back to Dr. Blomkampf's engineering facility on board the OCS 'Your paycheck could depend on this'. I wonder what I'm letting myself in for this time... "Ah! Spencer! I'm glad it's you. I've just been putting the finishing touches to my newest design." "No pointy sticks this time?" "No, but I think you'll like it anyway..." "Wow, she's a beaut Doc. What do you call her?" "The Octan Octonaut! The most advanced Awesomnium prospecting vehicle ever designed, if I do say so myself. And with the 8-legged ambulatory system, she's stable on any terrain. Just try not to leave her in the bottom of a sinkhole this time, eh?" For once, the Doc was as good as his word. The Octonaut handles the rocky plains of Kaalin with ease. It may be a little cramped inside, but the armour's thick enough to withstand a meteorite strike. Drill deployed!

I'd like to transfer 33 credits to First Branch Executive and all-round good egg Bob of Quatrian!

Oh, I really like that curved wall technique. Might have to try and replicate it some time! The little droid is great too!

[O - TECH] Training Facility on Yetornius
Space Terrapin replied to goatman461's topic in AG1 Archive
Great looking facility! Amazing lava, and microscale building work. "Welcome to what is quite possibly the most dangerous job interview in the world." - Kingsman -
Beauty - the giant Mantis pushed this up a level! Very clever use of those fencing mask pieces, highly effective!

Eeek! Should I be alarmed about the mad scientist who keeps that many scorpions? Remind me to watch my step on any field trips with Dr. Long... I really like the swarming effect, in all seriousness. Very good indeed.

Great contrast between the platform and the ground here, and very imaginative use of the cockpit window. Nice!

Space Terrapin reporting in, just landed on Xerillian.

Spencer's diary, 7 Junali, 3815 After last week's debacle on Hennigan II (the Div9-R walker ended up wrecked in a water-filled sinkhole that it failed to detect) it was a great relief to be relocated to Xerillian. Even if it is a dustball, my first assignment is a milk run - escorting exploration expert Lu Caslaug-Hing back from her 'beach holiday' at the planet's only substantial body of surface water. This OC-117 hovercar is top of the range, the senior management must think highly of Ms Caslaug-Hing. I hear she made some interesting discovery on Hennigan II. The OC-117 is fast and comfortable, and its zero-downdraft hover tech means that it doesn't even kick up much dust. I hope they let me keep it!

Lovely build! The use of the trans studs for the sand wake is particularly good, I never would've thought of that but it's very effective. Octan's new CEO is leading from the front!
-
Oh yes! I love the novel cockpit design.
-
Gorgeous ship design, and nice character Vig too!
-
Nice build, I love the vehicle! Good idea to try some FP - it sort of works, particularly in the second photo. I think if you'd been able to make the landscape wider, to give the illusion of the horizon filling the width of the frame, it might work even better. Good job!

Hahaha! That final shot is PERFECT! Good write-up too, thanks for the cameo... I loved the bit about the weak engine attachment. Looking forward to how this develops!

Oh yes. This looks like fun... and a fantastic build. If you don't get the first 6 pointer of the game, I'll eat my breakfast!

Very very good build. The wyrm is suitably scary and the jetpack vapour well worth the effort you put into balancing it, I can imagine that was frustrating!

AG - Introduction and Discussion
Space Terrapin replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
I'm sort of asking the same question as Jody. In the tech tree rules page it states: Am I right in thinking that the build showing the tech scores resources and domination points as usual, or not? Similarly, do the challenge builds score resources and domination points as usual (except on a scale of 1 to 10, not 1 to 7), in addition to the prizes stated in the challenge thread? Thanks for clearing that up... -
Since I'm still in he doghouse about that cat, I too will transfer 43 credits to former CEO Bob.... he's bound to be back on top before long!
-
Ah, scorpions, everyone's favourite pet. Well caught there!

The lava technique is very effective, especially in that last photo. And I like the creature to, well done for depicting Yetornius' predatory life!

I love me a good mech - and that is an awesome one, fragility issues aside. Very well composed scene too, well done!

[K - C08] Probing through the depths
Space Terrapin replied to Commander Turtle's topic in AG1 Archive
Lovely sub, the use of those parts for the engines is particularly good, I never think of clever ways to pull in bionicle bits like that.
