  1. Haha, very funny!! Lovely little ship. I like your take on Octan Corp's treatment of its employees, seems pretty similar to how I'd imagine it!
  2. Nice job, plenty of action and a suitably oriental looking backdrop!
  3. All round visibility, ideal for a scientific outpost! Very nice!
  4. This microbuild stands out for its excellent use of colour, both in the lava and the research station itself. Well done!
  5. This is a really good build, all the industrial greebling and details makes it seem like a really functional outpost! I must confess I'm not convinced about the helicopter - it just seems a bit too small and blocky - but that's a very minor criticism.
  6. Perfectly presented, you're developing a really great visual style for this game already! Everything in the scene is spot on.
  7. As others have said, super builds, and a really good write-up tying in other players' characters and stories. Fantastic!
  8. This is clearly one of the best AG builds so far, and a very dynamic scene. I really like the freight-lifting armature on the underside of the barge, the slanted base, and the minifigures... all excellent!
  9. Well spotted... I really like the Culture novels, especially the whimsical spaceship names. But I didn't have a particular one in mind, so it's just a casual use of the same idea!
  10. Spencer's Diary - 31 Maian 3815. I'm on board the OCS 'Your paycheck could depend on this', on approach to Hennigan II. Unit Manager Dorkness has been looking for ways to get back at me since I ran over the CEO's cat during his recent visit to Quantus III. He was certainly sniggering when he told me to report to Dr. Blomkampf in the Engineering Bay for a new assignment. I can't think why, the Doc seems like a decent enough old buffer, even if he does have his head in the clouds. Anyway I'm just about to find out. "Ah! You must be the test driver Mr. Dorkness mentioned. Do come in, I think you’ll be most interested in what I have to show you.” “What would interest me, Doc, is anything that will save me days of traipsing around the landscape looking for water sources.” “I see. Well, if my calculations are correct, I may have just that. I’ve recently been studying the unique properties of Awesomnium when combined with lignin and cellulose composites…” “Come again?” “Wood.” “Oh, right.” “Please don’t interrupt my train of thought. It turns out that if you insert Awesomnium fibres into wooden materials, they generate a natural resonance field that is perturbed by the presence of nearby bodies of water. Optimize the geometry and movement of the field, and this perturbation translates into physical vibrations that can be detected by the highly sensitive equipment I’ve incorporated into my specially modified Div-9R walker. YOU are going to be the first to test this remarkable cutting edge technology in the wild!” “So… you want me to search for water by waving a pointy stick?” “If you want to put it like that, yes.” “And I suppose this walker is equipped with defenses against any possible hostile alien lifeforms? “Oh dear me no! Any such thing would disrupt my delicate instruments. But you do get a roof in case of inclement weather.” "Gee thanks Doc..."
  11. Beautiful build, hilarious write-up! CLAPPIE is a great idea, I can see him making some more appearances as the exploraiton progresses...
  12. Message to Octan Corp: As an apology for running over his cat wıth my drilling rig the other day, I am transferring 43 credits to Octan CEO Bob of Quatrian. Please don't put me on latrine detail! Spencer Terry
  13. Really good story, builds up nicely to the final scene. It's great the way you worked in other peoples' figs too! And the lava landscape is spot on.
  14. Gorgeous butterflies and very pretty build all round! Fantastic.
  15. Newbie question since I haven't been very active on EB before - how do I add tags to my build thread? Do you have to put them on when first posting the thread, or can they be added later?
  16. Stunning ship! I really lıke your building style and welcome to the team!
  17. Very cool vig, I do like the choice of minifig parts and the sand!
  18. Nice build, certainly looks like freight capacity is optimized... nice drooping engines too!
  19. Good job! Awsomnium is pretty heavy and this looks like a ship that could carry it. I like the multi-level landscape too!
  20. An alien? Eeek! And I thought we were alone in the universe... Nice build and choice of colour, the purple water is really good.
  21. Evening all! Pleased to report a safe landing on H07, and that this planet looks like a promising second source of Awsomnium. Long live Octan!
  22. Spencer's Diary, Maian 21, 3815 There's no excitement to match the feeling of being among the first to set foot on a new planet. Hooray for pastures new! Although, around here the pastures seem pretty barren. Still, the orbital scans suggested that this should be a good region to prospect for Awesomnium - that's why I'm here with my trusty drilling rig, Edwina. Hmm, that rocky outcropping looks like a good place to start. Sure enough, a few minutes' drilling reveals an Awesomnium node! Time to try out the portable sample collector and ore analyzer the Octan tech guys fitted Edwina with, and find out what sort of a deposit we're looking at. Looks like I'll be pretty busy for the next few days...
  23. Nice job boss. Sliding canopies are always a hit with me, and this is a really sleek build!
  24. Super stuff! I especially like the goggles and the lighting work. I envy you your nice light box...
  25. Super build! I was wondering what a 'cold swamp' environment would look like, you've captured it perfectly. Hail Octan, we seem to be making a really strong start!
