  1. Next year I think we will still get a couple of Avengers sets. I mean look at the Cars 2 sets they got a second wave this year which I didn't expect. Although I think next years sets will focus more on X-men and Spiderman. The two non Avengers sets this year were just teasers of whats to come. Nick Fury could be in any Marvel theme. He's in Ultimate Spiderman, he and Wolverine have worked to together many times at Shield and of course the Avengers film. There's probably is a couple of special sets to be released like the Black pearl was maybe the tumbler and some sort of Fury set however I wouldn't think they would be above 400 pieces.
  2. I agree Lego would do much better but I cant see megabloks losing it. I think at the moment halo is to meagabloks what star wars is to the Lego franchise. I think what will happen now is that Lego will do films and superheroes while megabloks does video games like there doing world of Warcraft next. Back on topic though I would love to see Pokemon become a theme I can already imagine the collectible minifigs having a spin off collectible Pokemon series. It would really fit into the collecting and trading spirit of the franchise. The sets would focus on gyms and important locations like professor Oaks lab, the pokecentre and team rockets hideout.
  3. I would like to see some sets based on the avengers individual films like captain America vs the red skull on the plane or ironman against whiplash with a wrecked formula one car and a rolls Royce with pepper pots. Another idea I would love to see explored would be the x-men's blackbird or the x-men mansion. It could include a danger room ceribro a couple dorms a hanger an out door fountain professor X's office a gym two class rooms and a dinning area with kitchen. It would be similar to how hogwarts was and would include Professor X, Jean Grey, Beast, Ice man, Jugganaunt, Shadow cat and Storm. The black bird would come with Cyclops, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Toad, Pyro,Rouge and Mystique. Lastly a set in a bar with Wolverine, Sabertooth Collosuss and the Blob.
  4. Theres a couple of ways I know of the first way is there's a website called peeron.com that inventory all sets and list all the bricks in the set and have some links to there partnered bricklink stores. The second way which is what I did is I went on Lego.com and printed out the pages in the instructions that show the inventory in the republic ginship it's about 48and49 of book 2. I then colour code the parts in to groups base on when they appeared In the instructions do for example if on page one it says I need two 2x4 whit bricks I circled them green. If in the inventory it's says theres a total of seven of these bricks I order them all ( this was only so It was easier to track how of what brick I had). After splitting the parts into about seven or eight groups I started ordering from Lego directly a couple of times and then bricklink. I found brick link to be better as many stores are cheaper and after repeat business a couple of sellers give out coupons. Then I started building away. I did discover about a week ago that you can create a want list on bricklink. It asked the number of the set so I entered 7676 and then I selected the parts I wanted and removed the ones I already had. The only problem was there's a little box next to the picture of the item that says notify me when sellers have this part available. A couple of days later I had about 200 emails . I just tick the box to stop that and when I order a part now I just delete it from my wanted list. Remember though to always compare I use shops that have a medium shipping rate but stock most of the parts I need.
  5. Ye i think it's time Lego made a chrome C-3po with printed eyes and the new torso. Maybe released the other protocol droids with new print like K-3po.... Just saying Lego don't think that just because you have release TC-14 you have quenched are thirst. In fact now our theist is bigger than ever for chomeness
  6. Just do what I'm doing at the moment for a republic gunship. I have used bricklink to order all the parts and have not ordered the figs as I have most of them from other sets. Obi wan from T6 Jedi shuttle, Plo koon from plo koon's starfighter, and commander Cody from the geonosian starfighter. The only fig I dont have is ventress which I will Order from bricklink in the future. Looking at the aftermarket all I would have been paying for is the figs the box and instructions. You can download instructions from Lego.com and I had most of the figs. It's cost me about £100 so far to order nearly all pieces ( I have about 50 left) and all pieces are brand new. Looking at eBay the set goes any where between £150-£200. Doing this has been such a success for me that i am tempted to do this with some older sets like the republic cruiser. I hope this helps
  7. i just found out two days ago that lego have already made an R2-D2 with a pearl silver dome. hes available in the clone wars Y-wing. i ordered one on bricklink and it arrived today. i have to say although i prefer it to the light bley dome and the old R2-D2 with printed silver on white i think the silver isn't to much noticable. maybe if lego used the silver that the assains droids are or chrome.
  8. I had a small dark age between January 2007 and early 2010. I dont know why it happened and I regret missing some of the awesome sets of those years. I got back into Lego by accident I was about to sell all my Lego on eBay but I had to build the sets in order to complete them. While I was rebuilding the batcave and jabbas sail barge I realised how much fun it is to build Lego. I guess breaking all those sets up for storage was my fail safe .
  9. Oh that makes a bit of sense then. Even though there was no episode 1 sets in the January wave of 2012 . In that case I don't see any reason for a second delay. Does this mean that next year the January wave will be delayed again for attack of the clones?
  10. I think it depends on a lot of things. First of all where you usually buy Lego from. This year I went to the Lego shop on January 4th and they had all new star wars sets in stock. The next day I went to toys r us and they had nothing it took them a month later to get any thing. Second of all it depends on where you live Denmark usually gets sets a month early where as the Uk gets them after the US. I live in the UK and for some reason we got the sets before America. I don't know why the sets were delayed but the problem should have been solved by now.
  11. For attack of the clones I think Lego have chance to release a lot of Jedi in non clone wars versions. I think we won't see a temple every made because of its appeal to youngsters there's no play features that could attach kids what would the descriptions be. "open the door for the Jedi to enter the counsel chamber looks like qui gon has more to say spin yodas chair to face him. The younglings need training fire flick missiles teach them how to dodge". Unless its released as part of something special like to mark the release of revenge of the sith in 3d or the last series in the clone wars. But next year there's a big chance to give a lot of Jedi the live action look they deserve. Plus most of them only need new face prints like aalya ans ki adi mundi. One or two need the complete make over like luminara. If they were all spilt up into geonosian stands and maybe a republic gunship and at te.
  12. The astromech in the V-wing is pearl silver. I'm talking like the same colour as the up coming TC-14 promotion or the colour that the old lightsaber hilts were before 2005 when they became light bley. It wouldn't surprise me though if Lego updates R2-D2 in a year or so. Tinn's Jedi starfighter the astromech has a pearl silver dome. To make a chrome dome look more damaged LEGo could print some full silver scratches on like on the new boba fett helmet.
  13. I agree that previous promo figs haven't appealed to me apart from chrome c3po and vader but I'm doubtful I will buy because of price. I'm just happy I waited to spend some of my money. I'm gonna get a couple of Tc-14's or maybe 3. One to keep in the polybag one to open and use and a spare knowing my luck the arms will crack or the chrome will chip. If I can pick up more then I will for resale purposes. Don't worry I won't put stupid crazy prices on them I will just put enough on to get me my money back and a little profit. I'm against all those sellers who charge £75 for a promo fig. On a side note 100 posts !!!!!!!!
  14. That rancor looks great how many pieces did it take to build?
  15. I agree lego needs to invest in more shops in the UK I have to spend £7 on the train to go to my nearest one which is milton keynes. Whenever I have been lucky enough to go to the US theres always a lego shop(theres one in Disney world for goodness sake). Its a shame that you live so far away from a lego shop I have heard rumours that last year that so many arf troopers were left over that the employees started to sell them in the store for a couple of pounds. I have also found this to be the case with other promotions like the christmas sets that were given away with orders for £75 or over (not sure if this will happen with TC-14). I do understand you point lego could have promoted it better i don't think other than the calender we have had a offical press release. i think the reason it has to be all star wars lego is because of the hulk promotion which is a week later they most likely want to make people spend £50 on star wars and £25 on superheroes instead of £50 on both star wars and superheroes.plus there most likley trying to clear some of the shelves ready for the star wars summer sets in a few months. On the plus side there was lots of chances to get the arf trooper after may the forth like in November and January this year hopeful you will have another chance to get this figure in the future if you miss out this time round.
  16. Last year the amount was £50 or the same price as a new X-wing, Y-wing or tie fighter
  17. I second this also I would love to see an episode 1 and 2 C-3po and an R2-D2 with a chrome dome. Maybe even rerelease some of the other droids with new print like K-3po and R-3po.
  18. I have looked at the past few years and noticed that on may the forth Lego usually do a promotion. And about the same time toys r us do a 3 for 2 on Lego. So I always buy a couple of the winter wave in January ( although this year they were pretty good so I have about 5 of them). Then I wait patiently for may and then the summer. Some people are saying that it's short notice but may the forth is every year. There's always a good set that I like the look off but never buy because I'm waiting for a offer (this year for me it's the republic frigate). Just because people didn't expect this years figure to be brilliant does count as an excuse. There's nothing stopping people waiting a couple of months waiting to see what fig it is and then deciding if they want it or not. Every year may the forth has gotten better and better two years ago it was a poster last year an Arf and this year it's fantastic. I hope people learn from this year to wait Before spending because looking the trend next year is going to be better than this years promotion.
  19. Just because people have already got sets doesnt mean they can't get multiples. I mean surely battle packs are designed for that and to some extent the new x wings and tie fighters. I have two of 9494 I just swapped the colours around on one so I have a red one and a green one. I also think that this promotion is being held at the extract right time of the year. It it was any earlier in the year like January or February people tend not to spend much money then due to christmas and over holidays that preceded them. At the moment most people have been looking forward to may the forth and have been saving for a while. I've been saving on and off for about 2 months. If you've already managed to buy all current star wars sets and don't want a USC R2-D2 then there's surely do sets you could get more off?
  20. Just ordered a lot of parts of bricklink to build a republic gunship.
  21. I find it funny that at the moment people are paying over $100/£75 on ebay for TC-14. If these people wait less than a month they could spend $75/£50 and get a TC-14 and a star wars lego set. People are paying more for less the world works in strange ways
  22. Well said and I don't think Lego could make it any fairer it's much more fairier than the c-3po and vader give a ways. Plus it's no different than when TRU have a buy 3 for 2 on Lego star wars if you don't live near toys r us then it's not fair. Lego isnt doing any thing sneaky or rotting there just giving fans of star wars the chance to get a cool fig. So what if you have to buy $75 of sw Lego. Most fans have been looking at a couple of sets that look cool and held back from getting them for whatever reason. Now is the chance to get them sets and a cool fig. Plus there's usually free shipping on orders above $75 at promotions and double VIP points and money off certain sets. The only way this could be any fairer is if when we got the fig George Lucas shook are hand and thank us for loving star wars.
  23. I agree If in my nearest Lego store there selling the Tc-14 figs separately I'm gonna buy them buy the bucket load. I think they will though as well at Christmas they were selling the two christmas sets that came free with purchases of £50 or more. I know it's wrong but I think most people who are presented the chance to buy multiple would. It's also handy to have a couple knowing my luck I would get one and a few months down the line the arms would get cracks or something.
  24. I don't own the new tie fighter but I do own two 9494. I have to say I am very happy with the new starfighter there a big well needed update on the previous star fighters. I really love the extras included in the set like the mining droid and platform. Thebminifigs are great as well anakin and obi wan are a two of the best minifigures from the first wave. Looking at the price of the tie I would have to agree and say get it in a sale or if you have money off. The figs in the tie look great as well but I personally don't have any use for them at the moment.
  25. Wow that's a lot of orders haha. I'm ordering parts to build a republic gunship of bricklink and I thought I had a lot of orders. Cool project dude. Just looking at all those boxes makes me envious. Your totally right aswell I'm addicted to ordering parts from bricklink. I would order the parts for a ucs falcon but the room is a issue at the moment and cost which is why I chose to do something smaller
