Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Sam892 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think your missing the point. Sure those characters are great but currently they wouldn't sell as well. They still would sell as many AFOLs would buy them but Kids wouldn't. If I show an eight year old a picture of Daredevil or Punisher, they wouldn't know who they are. So if they don't know who they are why would they buy them in a set? LEGO is a business and as a business they want to make as much money as possible. The money they make will most likely be invested back into the Superheroes line later on. In terms of the Kid friendly thing, Joker is based on a version that's Kid friendly. In the sets we get him he's not given knifed and Meat cleavers. He's given a toy gun. That goes for the whole Superheroes line. The ADU guns, the lack of physical weapons for the villians. We have to remember LEGO is a toy, aimed at Kids. that's why there isn't a New 52 Joker with his face cut off, or a Punisher set with him murdering gang members. -
That trailer is incredible. Now not only do I want an Iron Patriot minifigure but the rest of the Iron Legion. The Hulkbuster looks incredible and I also noticed the Deep space suit. My god I hope LEGO has a secret set lined up for the fall with all those suits.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

If the Watford rumour is true then hopefully it just means that Argos are bringing them out a bit later. I'm heading to Milton Keynes LEGO on the 14th March, and they usually are pretty good with bringing sets out on time. Still only 2 days until the 7th so guess we will just have to wait and see. If it is April for the UK, I find it funny how the USA get the sets first but we get the film first. Still not sure who gets he better deal with that...... -
When I was younger my Mum said to me 'Sam you can buy I don't like you wasting money on LEGO. So from now on if you buy it don't tell me'. today as a twenty year old student the agreement still stands. There's still times however when I'm out with her and Buy a set that's on offer or, she will get me a suprise set for a Birthday. That said Big sets are always secret, and if caught the price said is always a lot less than the price paid.

Hopefully this trailer will have a lot of new footage. I'm sure it will, but it irritates me when a "new" trailer is the same clips in a different order. Still I can't wait to see it. Looking at all those suits on the poster is making me hope we see them in the trailer.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Sam892 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Technically this argument can be made for any theme. Star Wars: its still Luke, Anakin, Obi wan, Han.... City: still Airport, Marina and fire........ LOTR: its still Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn..... Bearing in mind as said before if you want things to sell, go with what's current. At the moment that's Spider-man, Batman, the MCU and MOS. Next year there's Days of future past, Cap 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy, so expect those sets ( although an X-men set would be separate from the film). When looking at the current sets they are all gear towards stuff that's currently got hype. Even last years X-men set is geared towards a current event. Which X-man has a film out this year Wolverine, which X-man is the only hero included in that set Wolverine. the Avengers made 2 billion dollars so that's why their sticking around. Batman is always going to sell.Spider-man has a current cartoon series. Plus Super-man has a film coming out with the name Nolan attached to it. However on top of all this the theme is very Young. It's only the second year and until the future of SH is 100% secure LEGO won't take huge risks. I think its selling well but its still too early for LEGO to put out a FF set or a Daredevil set. Think about how many years it was until B list and even C list characters, and vehicles started appearing in Star Wars. Next year but most likely the year after is when Lego might put a risk set on shelves. Even then I don't expect more than one. -

Its going to be a lot harder for LEGO to move away from Batman, now that Young Justice and Green lantern are cancelled. DC are terrible at promoting their lesser know characters. Whatever people think about the Ultimate Spider-man TV shown its given us minifigures. Iron fist, Nova, Dr Doom and Beetle there's no chance we would have gotten them with out the show. I can see The DC sets becoming boring next year unless they move away from Batman. What I think LEGO will most likely do is test the water. I can see Batman becoming the side character while the rest of the Bat family take front seat. I imagine seeing Batman as a hostage or in trouble with Nightwing or Batgirl having to save him. This way Batman will still sell sets but, wont be the headline act. A example would be something like 'Batgirl cycle: Killer Croc Rescue'. -

I meant The Nightwing minifig. Seeing how many times LEGO has reused heads in the past, I was hoping that if we get a Nightwing figure in the future that they don't reuse Robins face. -

So when are the new Iron man sets being released in the UK? I've been looking on the net and can't find anything. I'm hoping its the Seventh as I'm heading to the LEGO store next week. -
Singer just confirmed on Twitter that Halle Berry is returning as storm in Days of Future Past. Signer also hinted that Nightcrawler will return aswell in a recent interview. The rumour going round the Internet at the moment is that the new film will retcon last stand.

To me the Marvel sets by far beat the Bat... I mean DC sets. The Quinjet and Spidercycle are both incredible. Next week I'm getting the Daily Bugle and maybe the Malibu Mansion if, its out in the UK. The only thing that kind of bugs me is that unlike Star Wars, Indiana Jones and POTC, LEGO didn't visit the previous MCU films. I'm hoping this changes in the future but, even a best of set with main characters thrown in would go unappreciated.

I think that the new Gunship is better. The slopes on the top of the ship are much more accurate than 7676. Also the figures alone make this set incredible all of them but the Superbattle droids are Exculsive. The wings on 7676 are very unstable and this new version seems to have improved it. Also 7676 wasn't easy to move and swoosh about. The handle on the new one, while looking out of place makes it easier to move. The Gunship is one of my all time favourite SW ships, and I'm so pleased we're getting a new one.

Review: 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack

I can't wait to get this set. Hopefully it won't be too long before its in the UK. I find it ironic that the USA get the sets first, but Europe gets the Movie first. Anyway I was very disappointed when I first saw this set but, it looks like it has a lot of useful parts to build your own version with. The Figures look incredible but I'm not sure about Peppers hair. Maybe she will have a longer ponytail in the film, but I always thought it was shorter. -

I also hope he gets some more expressions. I'm hoping for an angry face for both him and Batman. Hopefully if next year we get a Nightwing minifig he will have the same domino mask but, with an angry and standard face. The whole Scared face isn't really Grayson's style. -
My local Tescos has the BARC Speeder for £16.99 which is pretty good. Also the AT-RT at £13.99 as previously mentioned.

The fact that Aquaman was put into a set gives me a lot of hope. Not because Aquaman is terrible or anything but because he isn't as mainstream as Batman and Superman. Sure he fits the set, but LEGO could have easily thrown in The Flash or Green Lantern. I think that although this year is great, 2014 will be incredible and 2015 will be amazing. I can't see LEGO losing this theme anytime soon, it has the three greatest ingredients to a theme. 1. Kids love superheroes 2. Adults love superheroes 3. Tonnes of incredible possible sets and ideas that could be made. -
Thats a cool idea. I remember years ago before the VIP system was introduced I had a few of these, wher it was spend £10 get a stamp. I haven't picked up the last two series of CMs simple because I've been saving any every penny counts. However I have a feeling this will change my mind.

Hi I'm going to the LEGO store in MK in a couple of weeks and I'm looking for a cool set to buy. I mainly collect Superheroes but I nearly have them all. So because of this I fancy something big and challenging, but mainly I want to learn some new techniques to MOC with. I'm looking at Arkham and any of the Modular Buildings. Which out of those is the Best to get? Thanks Sam

Am I the only one Hoping the name changes from the Amazing Spider-man 2? I'm hoping its called the spectacular Spider-man or the Ultimate Spider-man. It would be a great nod to the comics.

I also enjoyed ASM more than the previous films, I even enjoyed the suit. It made sense to me that his first suit looked like a prototype. The only part I didn't like was the look of the Lizard.

So that's what 5 villians now? Rhino, Electro, Black cat, Venom and Goblin. Can't help but think their gearing up for the Sinister Six. Personally I hope they set up Venom and Goblin for future Films. In other news lots of sites are saying that Iron man 3 might be RDJ's last time as Stark. IMO Marvel need to throw as much money as possible towards keeping him as Stark for future films.

Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion
Sam892 replied to just2good's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The one Pixar Film that really deserves a sequel at the moment is The Incredibles. There is so many paths to go down and so many possible stories to tell. I love all Pixar films especially Toy story 1,2 and 3, but I think after MU they need to revisit The Incredibles. While I would enjoy a Toy Story 4 they should leave it a good few years and follow up on some other characters.- 279 replies

Going by Arkham and the Lack of X-men sets this year I'm putting my money on the X-mansion. It's similar to Arkham, in building terms at least. Similar piece count but can be unique and different from Arkham at the same time. Throw in eight figures Seven X-men and one unique villain. I also expect a Marvel Visual dictionary later this year ( After the game has been released ).
