I've only been on this forum a couple years but correct me if I'm wrong. Don't we usually have some sort of pics of the upcoming city sets by this time of year??
-
Yes, the Maersk loco fits perfectly in the train shed
-
That is one of my big pet peaves with city sets. The town sets That I started with back in the 80's worked as a system.

Great job on the control tower. This is what TLG should include in the airport sets, not some dinky little tower. This would look so much more scale next to the newer gigantic planes.
-
I notice today that TRU added the city starter set to the website. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=22290676

If TLG were planning on re releasing this set it seems like bad timing since the Town Square is now out. Seems kind of pointless to me.

Wow that is awesome! How many Bank sets did it take to build it??
-
Very interesting. I would have never noticed that

I really love the Town Square set. IMO I think the crane is an appropriate size and I think its great to get away from all the police and fire sets that have been rammed down our throats for years. I think you guys are way to critical of these sets. If the crane was smaller you guys would complain that it needs to be a bit bigger. Just my .02 cents

Thanx for the kind words guys. I would love to do a fuel depot or or some sort of Octan refinery. I think Lego should seriously consider that idea for a set as well.
-
Just thought I'd post a couple pics of my Octan fleet. octan guys getting aquainted tandem dolly I came up with. Nothin fancy Thanx for taking a look.

Yes sorry about the ugly pics from my phone. All I did was to move the bed back one stud so it is on less of an angle when loading the car onto the bed.

Looks really nice!!

V-LC-22A Just picked up the new 2013 rescue flatbed at my local TRU. Great set but i thought i could improve it a bit. I decided to make a slight change to bed. I didnt like how the bed was at to high of an angle when it was extended so i moved it back a bit to decrease the angle. I also moved the winch up towards the cab. This also enabled the car to fit better on the flatbed. I also filled the gap with a couple side emergency lights under the bed.

My local TRU in Buffalo had Fire motorcycle, Police chase set, Fire chiefs car, Fire emergency set, flatbed rescue, cement mixer, and Octan Tanker. I picked up the Flatbed rescue truck.

Thanx guys. very helpful

Does anyone know when the new city sets are going to be released?? This time last year I was already starting to buy new forest sets. One would think that TLG would want all the new sets out in time for the Xmas shopping season.

School has tons of possibilities also. Big school house, bus, playground. school minifig collection,

I think a zoo series in the city theme would do great. Think of the possibilities. zoo keeper vehicle, animal transports, the zoo as the main set, animal hospital etc etc. Kids love the zoo, Its not rocket science.

I noticed on brickset that they now list a set called "helicopter arrest" with the number 60009. I wonder if this helicopter originally listed as 4473 will be the same set? After all the minifig is holding an arrester hook. Would kind of make sense. http://brickset.com/...2013&Theme=City

Why cant Lego do models like that?? Great job!!

This set for me is near and dear to my heart. Its the first big set that my parents bought for me when I was 6. i've always loved this set and still have it to this day. Sadly my box suffered water damage and the instructions are a bit worn. But the set itself is still in great shape. This set literally kept me busy for hundreds of hours when i got it. I also remember building the alternate version pictured on the instruction book. Great review!!!

Im totally impressed with these two sets! I really like how the flatbed and all the previous tow trucks match in color. The cement mixer is totally heavy duty looking. Must have sets for me!!!!

Does anyone know what the knob on the side of the burning house does? Maybe make the flames move around??
