Weapon effects only work on hits. Unless specified otherwise. If that somehow does not apply to the Pheles Rod, I just rolled, and no, it would not kick in. -

Skrall vs. Wolfgang Leader - Critical Hit - 12+2x2+34x2x2x3= Leader dead Ellaria heals Boomingham - Nurture Less - Boomingham healed for 26, -1 ether Nyx vs. Rapidfire Contraption - Special Damage - Round is uneven, Atramor, Ellaria, Boomingham take 50 damage from bolts (Atramor 50/2-26=0, Ellaria 50/2-3=22, Boomingham 50-10=40, Boomingham KO!) Boomingham vs. Rogue Knight Free hits: Sellsword vs. Atramor - 60/2-26 = 4 damage Optimism Pyromaniac vs. Skrall - 50/2-8 = 17 damage Deserter vs. Ellaria - 50/2-3=22 damage, Ellaria KO! Skrall swiftly knocks out the Wolfgang Leader with a well aimed bolt, and Ellaria manages to heal Boomingham, but the Rapidfire contraption shoots out bolts and hits Ellaria, Atramor and Boomingham, the former two can walk away, but Boomingham is knocked to the floor. The enemies are coming back, and on their own push, they manage to knock out Ellaria! All enemies suffer 10 damage from deadly poison. Everyone please check if your inventories are correct. Atramor, with Boomingham's help, manages to quickly pull off the heavy bar that blocked the door from opening. Quickly they slide the door open, and let the rest of the party in. With the door open, the smoke quickly disappears, and everyone sees what they're up against. The enemies have built up some kind of barricade, they will have to fight through the enemies, if the heroes want to get past. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Atramor's smokebomb fills the room with smoke, and fireballs, bolts and arrows start to fly in Atramor and Boomingham's direction. Likely they have a short amount of time before the smoke clears through the crack in the ceiling the two heroes went through. They see they are standing in front of the door of the warehouse. If they want to let their friends in, this is likely their best time. -

Boomingham jumps down. Unto what seems like the second floor of the building. His eyes start to adapt to the sudden darkness he finds himself in... As Atramor jumps in too! The floor cracks, and a moment later, both heroes crash through the floor. Before they can get to their senses, they hear a snigger, and then a female voice: "Nice entrance." -
Guts went down first. I didn't get up since. Again. I would help them up. I dislike not getting experience when I can, why should others not get experience if that's the case? Anyways, let's leave it at that. I understand people have less funds and therefore think differently about using consumables. I'll make sure to invest in a bunch of phoenix essences in the future so I can be sure to survive the battle as often as possible. That should keep everyone happy.
