Looks like my plane ride was a success.

"Alright then.." Guts instead first drinks a Grand Potion, before attacking. Same Battle order.
-
"Raven, can you heal me with your potion? I'll pay you back for it after the fight! Mizuki, attack the Ogre twice again, Magellan, attack the Ogre from the back row!" Guts himself attacked the Riot Leader twice from the front row, with Lifestealer. Battle order: Raven Guts Guts Mizuki Mizuki Magellan

"Absolutely, they are armed to the teeth, carry no sails and lay high in the water, meaning they don't make long journeys or carry cargo. Also, they are on ramming course with us. I am sure. Are you sure about your plan?" -

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Scubacarrot replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
A few days go by. (sorry.) The heroes sleep on the deck at night, and enjoy the good weather at day. They pass the time by sparring among themselves, Skrall tries fishing with his crossbow, with limited success, Ellaria mostly stands near the railing looking in front of her, Rufindel spends most of the time asleep, Atramor helps the crew out a little bit here and there and Nyx and Boomingham play games with Mac, who wins most of the time. Finally, on the fourth day at sea, the cabin's door opens, and the captain comes walking out. "Heroes, I have been organizing and discussing with Patricia's men, my excuses that I have not come to you sooner. We can discuss things now..." Then, a voice from the crow's nest interrupts Captain Lorenzo: "Captain, A ship, on starboard, she is on our course." "Sails and flag?" "None, sir." "Damn it, Ignacio, get down from there and secure the ropes, Jacob, get the cutlasses, Bob, take the helm, Whales, Christian, hoist the sails. Mac, get me my Telescope!" The crew hurries to perform the duties given by their Captain, and not before too long, Mac brings the telescope. The captain looks through it, before handing it over to the Heroes, who each take a good look through it. "I'm afraid our talk will have to wait. Slavers. We can do this two ways, they will try to board us, they want our ship and our cargo, and more importantly, us. We can either wait for them on our ship, and attack them as they try and board as a group. Or we can do a counter attack, where we board their ship as they board ours, which will hopefully surprise them. The crew will have to stay on board to defend this ship. It's up to you." -
Yes, no problem.

"Great job, Mizuki, Raven, keep it up!" Guts first threw his throwing knife at the Riot Leader from the back row, then attacked the Ogre with Lifestealer from the front row. "Mizuki, attack the ogre twice, please! Magellan, bombard the Ogre with your Fire Bomb." Battle order: Magellan Mizuki Mizuki Raven Guts Guts
-
"We had to get the ogre, didn't we?" Guts said to no one in particular. "Magellan, why won't you Bombard the Snakeman, load your Fire Bomb, if you will." Guts himself twirled his blade, and assaulted first the Riot Leader, Eurose, and then the Ogre. Battle order: Guts Mizuki Mizuki Raven Magellan Guts

Also, assuming everyone agrees with the statement I made earlier: Horace is either innocent and Maurice and Seamus are both scum, or Horace is scum and Maurice and Seamus are both innocent, It's much smarter to lynch Maurice (Or Seamus), because: If we lynch Horace now, say he is innocent: We lynch Maurice day 6 We lynch Seamus day 7 If we lynch Horace now, say he is scum: No clear lynch for the next day. If we lynch Maurice now he is scum: we lynch Seamus day 6 If we lynch Maurice now he is innocent we lynch Horace day 6 See what I'm getting at? Duh Duh, Duhduhduh Duh, Duh. Duh Duh, Duh Here comes Gordon singing oldies goldies, blahblahblah is what I say, here comes Gordon saying I catched a scummer, Down in the Haven, trying to make them pay, I got the action, I got the motion, Oh yeah, the scum can't hide, Dedication, Devotion, Turning all the scum into a paste, He do the song about the sweet killing scummy, He do the song about the axe, He do the catch, he do the catch of scum, yeah he do the catch of scuuum! And oh, Seamus, there is a massive dung beetle on your head, mind if I eat it?

"What are you talking about? 'Expert job class' What is that? "
-
Guts rolls his eyes, and raises his hands in the air: "Why exactly would the Veterans allow you to stay in Heroica, this does not make any sense."
-
"Mercutio's balls. Use your brain. Hybros, you displayed an interest in the Ji-Pei, is that why you don't want to save them? because you want to get in the bad books with them? Cover your face, or run away after the battle. If you don't want to hold the responsibility for saving them, no one is going to force you onto it." "Metasimian, I understand, you want to not kill these people, most of them are poor and have nothing, their reaction now is understandable. But is that an excuse to sit back while they vent their frustration, which will have deadly consequences, and even more consequences later down the line? Know that their actions are guided by those four, and probably the Wolfgang, a bunch of criminals. If you really want to fight the injustice of this city, I call on you to do just that, for your passiveness here will lead to more deaths than if you fight with us now. And besides, you are trained in combat, these people are not. Use your pommel and the blunt sides of your weapons, and avoid deaths even now!" "Carvenhall, I do not know your reasons, and I frankly don't care. You seem to not want the blood of innocent's on your hands, which is understandable. But listen to me, with no action, more deaths will follow up on this. If they succeed here, they won't be content, other houses will be next, all symbols of oppression must be gone, after the houses, the rich folk will be next, then the merchants who made their own fortune, then Heroica." "All of you, I plead to look with open mind what the best thing to do is. I myself was one of the poor, helpless and angry once, but I got out, by myself. Their situation is no excuse for their actions. While I would have hoped we could talk this people down, we are far beyond that. Use non-lethal force, we are trained, we are Heroes. But if you seek the easy way out now, would rather remain on the sides. You will have blood on your hands, and in my mind, you won't be a Hero. What would it say about Heroica, if we let one of the six houses perish? No one would dare hire any Hero, for we apparantly don't care about the lives of those with power, why hire someone if they won't protect you? Dark times are coming, but it is up to us to hold that darkness off. If we stray from the path already, that task will be harder than we can handle. I will save these Bonapartes, not because I have any love for them, but because it is neccesary. Who is with me?"

You are defending Maurice in the same way Casey defended herself. Trying to cry others do the same thing, (and sucky). And If I really was scum, I would give attention, make the first vote, actively lobbey against my own teammate when no one else has done anything on that day? What would I gain? Get better arguments. If Maurice is scum, so are you, and it's looking all that more likely you both are. Oh a bug, I'll take that... Why the megabluck would you want to narrow in on me? Because you killed Pennie, knew he was town, and wanted to use that to make me suspect? The same what I said to the dumb dog goes for you, why the megabluck would you go for me, it just does not make ANY sense. Face it, I'm cleared, get over it, make a sandwhich, whatever. Seriously, you keep saying that, but face it, Pennie was town, so I was RIGHT, and you were WRONG. I know it's hard to accept that but just forget about it. Sure roleclaims on day 1 are risky as shit, but it was true, wasn't it? About Horace, at first I thought that we should follow Brigit, she specifically drew attention to him, and she turned out to be town. But, Maurice' comments about the situation made me shiver. Let's review what has been said. And while Lazlo Lion's list is very collective, the points he makes are not definitive and could be explained in a way that's not suspicious. I said Maurice comment's set me off, this stands mostly alone from my accusation of him earlier. He said: Let's break this down: You contacted Brigit "after she accused Horace", fair enough. She told you she was "talking with someone who knew Horace was Scum". Right, so either that's true or she was that person, but why would she do it like this if she was the one with that action? I don't think that that's true. So that means the person is still out there, and he or she has not spoken up about the fact. Can we trust the result if that's true, it would mean that person is probably scum? The only other possibility is that it is herself.. but what I said earlier goes, why do it like that? It's hardly subtle. I also want to bring something else up, what if the scum are going after vanilla townies, and that's what the green vials represent? Does anyone know anything about Ernie's role, now would be a good time to say it, because it would prove the whole point against Horace moot, basically. There was "probably a night action involved." You think? No details. Fair enough. Conjecture. This seems like something you'd have included in the first mention of it. But why would she even say something like that. Now it just seems like an afterthought, to make Horace seem even more suspicious. I think this comment is completely off, it's what gave me the most doubts about Horace. The last part too, it's written so you can play it off as if you did not just accuse him... Thing is... Brigit contacted me after I called her post against Horace out for having no reasoning, after which she told me she had to see people's reactions to her accusation, and that she was sowing the seeds for something. Also that she was a messenger (not sure about the truth of that). To sum things up, I think the Horse is being set up, but I can't know for sure. Any way you turn it, I think it lays like this: Either Horace is scum, I'm wrong about Maurice and Seamus. Some minor leads. Horace is innocent, Maurice and Seamus are both scum. Some good other leads. Whatever happens, Maurice and Horace can't both be scum, and I can not imagine neither being scum, so one or the other must be. I want to lynch Maurice, simply because he is in my eyes the most suspicious. And if you still suspect me, you are really, really, really dumb. Just saying. Oh but look at us, we're talking away. Don't know what else to say, but I'll say it anyway Today's another day to find you (the scum) Lynching away. I'll be coming you scum, anyway Coooome.. Aaaaat... Meee... Coooome... Meee... Aaaaat!! You'll be gone... In a day or two! So needless to say, there are a few odds and ends, We are still stumbling away, Slowly learning lynching's okay. Say after me, Maurice is a dirty scummo!! (Chorus) Vote: Maurice Mouse (Cecilie)

Something does not add up. Can you find it? I wanna be.... Sledgehammer! Aww, it's the cutey scummy getting scared because I got his little friend the cat lynched, boo boo. Seriously though, please tell me you are joking.

"Miss Fenarian, in our line of work, neutrality is a luxury we can't afford."
-
Guts calls out to the others: "I'll go after one. Fenarian, I suggest you divide us into four, I can lead one group, and I suggest you nominate two others to do the same. I suggest you divide us equally, I propose: Group 1: Boreal Namyrra Dek'ra Nerwen Thalion Dwinlas Group 2: Zephyroth Cinna Erik Sarick Dreyrugr Group 3: Eurose Guts Ser Daggerfall Mizuki Raven Ashcroft Group 4: Hybros William Harkenshire Alexander Vandangant Traitors: Benji Thotwick ???
-
No he didn't. You are Horse, Horse, always believe in your sooooouuul. You've got the suspicion to go, You're lynchaableeee. Always believe in... Sorry, yes, As I said, Horace should be our primary focus, I think. Thanks for the good list, Mr Lion.

Well, it depends. Heroica's reputation will only worsen whatever we do, except if we can somehow get the people to stand down, which won't happen. Either we will be accused of not caring about the people, and defending the oppressors by Eubric's poor, gangs whatever, or we will be accused of standing idly by while an angry mob lynched the Bonaparte leaders, by the other houses and the whole of Eubric. I think the Heroes given the beggars money will have no real impact. Since due to the system of the game, I wonder what kind of consequences the second option (letting them die) would be, if any, and I see why it would be a popular choice from a strictly gameplay point of view, but I am much more interested in the first (saving the Bonapartes) one from a roleplaying and logical perspective, and Guts would not even think about the second option.
-
If I were to say it, what would you do or what would you hope to get with that information? I've got nothing to hide, but I rather not say something that could potentially benefit the scum. I'm sure you understand. I'm never going to give this information up (except if you give a good reason why it can't hurt the scum or it could benefit us), and I'll try not to let the town down. I will make the cultists cry, when we wave them goodbyeeeee (to hell).
-
Just help saving them and then call them a bunch of poopyheads, and you'll be in good shape.
-
I'm not barking, I leave that to the more canine kind of villagers. You know, the ones that are Hungry like the wolf. As I said, the fact that people voted for Pennie is not the thing that is suspicious, Pennie was displaying very irrational behaviour, so a vote for him, especially yesterday, was not THAT far fetched, I am more interested in him because of his convenient switch, and the fact that he managed to slip past an accusation of mine before. But me incriminating you is not pointless and weak. and I am no "Monkey", it's Gorilla. And you really don't have to answer more questions at this point, other than "who are your teammates?" because you are scum in my book, you have done absolutely nothing, zero, null to prove me otherwise. And yes, yes I do know. Horace. That is a good point, Brigit seemed convinced to me in Private he was scum, and was going to lay it out in public today. Was that an attempt to stop that from happening. Horace might be a higher priority target than Maurice, actually. Good catch. That ain't working, that's the way to do it, you catch those little bastards on the MTV!

"You are selfish and shortsighted, Metasimian. If the Bonapartes fall, soon Eubric will have the same fate. What will happen when it becomes known the Bonapartes are without lead? Pirates will unite, take back the ocean around us, and ultimately loot and burn Eubric to the ground. You are forgetting that each and everyone of us here would not be able to live in this City were it not for the Bonapartes. They make a lot of money in the process, sure, but I will take them over pirates any day of the week. Now we are running out of time. Choose yourself, defend these people, or the guilt of knowing you could have saved them, and an incoming death by my hand." With that, Guts turned around, making his way over to the Bonapartes to defend them. He would save them, even if he had to do it himself.
-
Guts turns around when he hears sounds of doubt and even sounds of going against the Bonapartes. With rage in his eyes, he looks at the half-elf, and some of the others who hesitated. "Any of you who will not raise your blade in defense, of those people who are about to get ripped to shred by this angry mass, I will personally slit their throats. I don't care if it will take me the rest of my life, but any of you who dare support this... atrocity, I will hunt down and kill. I don't mind if I need to slit your throat in your sleep, poison your water or stab you in the back, but it will happen. Mark my words."
-
I love how you are trying to incriminate me. Say your goodbyes to your scum buddies for me! Just Relax, don't do it, and give me some good answers Of course it is suspicious, and you know very well what I am talking about. You voted for Pennie, then realized Pennie was never going to be lynched, and voted for Casey instead, because you also knew everyone who voted for someone else than Casey or was directing attention off of him, would be under scrutiny. You are smart enough to have figured this out, and you would know even if you are town, what I was getting at. You are PLAYING the innocent dumb fool, but it's not working. You are caught, mister! I have said it before, you are sooo Scummy! And we are not going to take it! Anymore! There is not more to go on, I just got that. I'm not afraid of being tracked, since I have no action. Since Pennie apparantly also had a target that he did not target himself, on night 1, that is. I was wondering if someone might now what it means.
