Ah, When I said Casey in my last post, I of course meant Maurice. But remember we can dance if we want to, we can leave our friends behind, 'cause our friends don't dance and if they don't dance, they're no friends of mine!
-
Yes! I knew it. So now, don't you, forget about me. I say we take a long hard look at Maurice Mouse, who first voted for Pennie, and then later switched her vote to Casey. Come on Casey, hit me with your best shot, what have you got to say for yourself? Something strange though, apparantly I targetted Brigit tonight, but I don't have a night action! Anyone know what that could mean?

"Scaly, Nerwen, Hybros, With me! You! Route around, watch the roofs, there are snipers! Try to take em out without killing them. Let's go!" Guts was already barking orders before their party leader had a chance to say anything, hoping some of the Heroes were following him, he went around to help the Bonapartes, roughly pushing his way through the crowd.

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Scubacarrot replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Result of Round Four of the Angry-Sea-Creatures-Battle. Boomingham heals himself - Heal (WP: 9 + Level 18 + 4 Extra Power x 2 = 62 Health Healed, 1 ether) Boomingham vs. Angry Naga - Meditate (+1 ether) Ellaria vs. Angry Naga - Shield Roots of Life/Shield Roots of Life (Rufindel revived, WP: 6 + Level 16 = 22 Health Healed to everyone, Nyx's fragile cured.) Atramor vs. Angry Naga - Poisoned Hit (WP: 5 + Level 21 = 26 x 2 x 2 = 104 Damage Dealt) Nyx vs. Angry Crab - Spell (WP: 13 + Level 22 = 35 x 2 x 2 x 2= 280 Damage Dealt, 1 ether) Skrall vs. Angry Crab Angry Naga - Aim (WP: 20 x 3 x 2 = 120 Damage Dealt) Angry Seaweed vs. Angry Naga - Critical Hit (40 Damage x 2 = 80 Damage dealt) It continues to go well for our Heroes. Boomingham heals himself calmly, and regains the ether as fast as he spend it. Ellaria calls up the Roots of Life! From all on the ship tiny spores and seeds that have come on to the ship by accident suddenly bloom! It's a beautiful sight, and everyone on the ship feels a lot better because of it, including Rufindel, who joins the Heroes in the land of the living. Atramor deals a decent hit, and so does Nyx, whose spell, strengthened by Ellaria's magic, completely blows the crab into tiny pieces. Skrall hits the Naga with a bolt, before the Seaweed brings down the final blow, after which it slides back into the ocean. The party catches their breath among the cut up Seaweed, diced crab, and chunks of dead naga, before someone realizes, they could make Sushi! THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! Boomingham, Ellaria and Rufindel gain half a level, Skrall, Nyx and Atramor gain a third of a level, Boomingham, Atramor and Rufindel level up. No one restores health from natural respite since everyone is already at full health. "Remember back, Hybros. This sailor was among the second group of beggars to bother us, and claimed other things." Guts looked at the knight with a cold smirk. "I can say whatever I want Knight. What his actions will be, is for him to decide, but I can say what I think of it. And your words ring hollow, there are many who will try to take advantage of us, and as this 'sailor' proves, if the city runs out of beggars to throw at us, the cycle will start again. And don't give yourself the illusion that your gold will change anything. And the Party Leader, the Fenarian, has already expressed her will to move on, but we are unable to do because of mud-hearted fools like yourself." Guts spits on the ground in front of the Knight, and instead uses his Flee skills to escape the hordes of beggars and reach the Temple.

I can absolutely relate to choosing role play over perfect strategy, I would not have chosen Raider if I were going for the most powerful, I think . And don't see it as criticism, but rather as observation from a neutral player in the spectrum, your current QM. (Neutral my megablocks, why won't you die. ) Same goes here, RP over strategy is by no means a negative thing to do, quite the opposite I'd say! (and it makes it more likely for you to get knocked out. ) What I had in mind as a replacement would be something with some SP, as I think Zepher is quite low key on that field for a knight. I think some more Boomingham-Guts interaction would be great. They are both old men set in their own ways and mindset, so something cool almost must come out of it. Thank you.

"I'm pretty sure he just made that up, he lied any way you turn it, he gave us two different stories about how he lost his leg. At least one of em ain't true. If I were to guess? Debt collectors, probably Sharkling or Metasimian, took that leg of his as repayment for gold he did not pay back. They are prone to tactics like that, you know, makes sure others pay up."
-
"No. No you are not, their stories don't hold any significance. If it's stories you are after, meet me in the hall after the quest, I have seen more than these three beggars and their friends combined, I'll tell you that for a fact. "

Just from QM'ing this last battle, and the current one, I've got some interesting findings about the advanced classes my questers are using. Hunter: Skrall is a cannon! He deals SO much damage, providing he is favored, that is. But how WBD plays the class, he is also a glass cannon, you can see he takes quite a bit of damage, and has no real defense against it. Still, the Winged Boots are of course a golden combination with the Slowed sword, but it does leave him incredibly vulnerable. If I were you, I'd try to sell off the sword and boots as a pair, to another hero, and invest in an artifact that gives you a nice bit of defense. Since the high damage of the sword is nice, but if you are going to continue to upgrade one or both of your crossbows, which I think is the smartest thing, it will become obsolete in a while. I think Hunter fits the Character skrall perfectly, as well. Paladin: I have said after Quest 23 that I think it's an incredibly useful, all round and generally fun class to both QM and to play, and I stay with that. It's a supportive tank, and that's good. How you play it, Zepher, is probably not the BEST way. You currently equip an artifact that increases your power, and decreases your ether, while what I would do is play to strength of the Paladin, it's supportive character, e.g. Put them first in the battle order, absorbs hits and heal. I'm interested to see how Boomingham's development takes him, will he stay a Paladin, or not. I don't think I've made it a secret he is one of my favorite characters in the Heroica RPG. Witch: I am actually amazed how well you've made your character fit the class, CMP, but you do that without sacrificing too much of Atramor's identity. How I see Atramor right now is kind of a voodoo pirate, which is a perfect way to play the class, as I think it's quite a difficult one to transition to from both Cleric and Rogue, generally. Witch surprised me, I love how they have all kinds of different cool tricks, the poison, hex, and most importantly: Mirror. It's fun to QM and I think fun to play too. I'm not sure how I feel that a Witch Amulet is a nigh necessity to play the class well, but there you go. Hope we will see more witches. Druid: They are better in every way than a Cleric, and are a very powerful healer, while still strong offensively and defensively due to their ability to attack with ranged weapons and the fact they have aim. Their abilities to revive knocked out players and remove effects is very powerful as well. If you want to play a healer, druid is your best bet from every angle. I'm interested in the way you play Ellaria, Sandy, but (perhaps I am seeing this all wrong) I get the idea that Ellaria's story ties in with Heroica's main story arc? And because of that it is quite slow. I would like to see MORE from Ellaria, if I'm honest. Battle Mage: Same as with Paladin, I've talked about this one after Quest 23. I'm surprised there are not more of this class, actually, it seems like something that is fun to play. It is quite a risky class, since they have more changes to take damage than all others, but the fact that they have a (recently buffed) very powerful shield effect, get to use gems, and can get very all round, and have 4 out of 6 chance to deal damage should get people excited, I'd say. I might want to see more from Nyx as well, I remember in Quest 23 Nyx sometimes let her barbarian side show through, is that still a thing?

I'm pretty sure that's not accurate monkey behaviour. I'm going to play with my banana, I suggest you do the same.
-
I'm just wondering. How old are you?
-
Am I missing something, what do you mean, Miss Hippo? I'm just going to peel another banana. Starting from the underside, it's much easier, try it next time you peel a banana! Ah, Nevermind. I got it, sorry.
-
Just wondering, how much did Arthur pay Dek'ra for the Scroll of Frailty? Because from just seeing how much impact the fragile effect has in a battle, it is probably one of the best items out there, arguably more valuable than even an Amethyst.

Result of Round Three of the Angry-Sea-Creatures-Battle. Boomingham vs. Angry Naga - Damage (40 Health + 7 Defense - 32 = 15 Health) Boomingham vs. Angry Naga - Critical Hit (WP: 9 x 2 + Level 18 + 4 extra Power = 40 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 320 Damage Dealt) Nyx vs. Angry Naga - Spell (WP: 13 + Level 22 = 35 x 2 x 2 = 140 Damage Dealt, 1 ether) Atramor vs. Angry Seaweed - Poisoned Hit (WP: 10 + Level 21 = 31 x 4 = 124 Damage Dealt) Skrall vs. Angry Naga - Hit (WP: 11 + 2 + Level 21 x 2 = 68 x 3 = 204 Damage Dealt) Angry Seaweed vs. Angry Crab - Shield Slippery (10 Damage dealt + Stunned) Ellaria casts Recklessness on Nyx - Succesfull/Succesfull (5 ether) It almosts seems like the party does better without Rufindel! Boomingham gets too close to the Naga, and has to sustain a bite from the Naga's sharp teeth, but a strong thrust from his sword to the weakened Naga ensures his assault was not for nothing. Nyx also deals a fair amount of damage with her stream of green magic. Atramor cuts away with his enchanted blade at the Seaweed, which he cuts up in tiny pieces. Skrall also manages to hit the weakened Naga, and damages it even further. The Angry Crab is stuck in the friendly seaweed, and somehow slips, and is turned upside down. Ellaria finally figures out the scroll, and succesfully strengthens Nyx, but also causes her to be more vulnerable. The Naga also takes double poison damage. Boomingham heals himself and Skrall quickly and effectively, while Ellaria consumes a Nostrum, and feels luckier already. Skrall can't ward off the Naga, and again suffers a hit. The Angry Crab changes his assault from Rufindel to Nyx, who takes a fair amount of damage as well from the quick and strong pincers. Atramor manages to sneak up to the Naga and hit him in the side with the flail, causing him to take some damage and more importantly, get poisoned and his(her, it's?) defenses lowered. How, you ask? Use your imagination. Result of Round One of the Angry-Sea-Creatures-Battle. Boomingham drinks Mead. Boomingham vs. Angry Naga - Damage (40 Health + 7 SP - 32 = 15 Health) Skrall vs. Angry Naga - Damage (34 - 32/2 = 18 Health) Ellaria casts Recklessness on Nyx - Unsuccesful (-5 Ether) Atramor vs. Angry Naga - Special Mirror (Dice rolls: Six and Six, Two Angry Seaweeds summoned!) Nyx vs. Angry Crab - Greater Spell (WP: 13 x 3 + Level 22 = 61 x 2 = 122 Damage Dealt, 1 Ether) Rufindel vs. Angry Crab - Damage (23 Health + 2 SP - 25 Health = 0 Health, K.O.) The heroes face off against the angry sea creature and his crustaceous companion. It does not go particuarly well. Boomingham and Skrall try a new strategy, with Boomingham rushing forward while Skrall provides covering fire. The Naga however, makes sure to keep Boomingham between him and the ogre, he hits Boomingham on the head with the fish weapon, and then suddenly slithers forward to Skrall, who also gets hit by the odd choice of weapon. Ellaria has trouble casting the strange metasimian scroll, and fails her cast. Nyx is not bothered by it though, and fires off a spell that hits the Crab. The enraged crab is not done, though, and with incredible speed and strength jumps up to Rufindel's face, and even more improbable, the poor cleric gets knocked out by the crab. Atramor can not prevent the Naga from calling forth an Angry Seaweed, but Atramor copies the sounds the Naga made, and another Angry Seaweed comes out of the ocean onto the ship, ready to aid the party! The Heroes now stand with six against three, but will the Seaweed be a more useful ally than Rufindel? Find out next round. We have covered this. I don't see a need to reply to this further. You can read back for answers against all this points. But, because I don't want to unneccesarily want to waste your time, I will allow you to waste mine and lay it out. When I voted for Casey, I did that to make sure Pennie would not be lynched after I went to bed. It was still a close call then. And no, it was not really the same, I think. Not wanting to vote for someone does not neccesarily mean you have the same ideas of suspects. If the effect would be as you say? Perhaps, but fact is I voted for Casey, made a case against Casey. Not many others shared my views though, and it was not a serious contender for being actually lynched. What I do find interesting is that Carly also voted for Casey, shortly after me, I have yet to decide if that means anything. As I said yesterday, Carly could be town, and in order to get Ralphy lynched, they janitored her, and the fact that Ralphy actually was town, gives credit to that thought, but still, it's far fetched. I don't really see where you want to go with this, since my idea was that it was possible people redirected attention from Casey, you imply I did that myself, but I was the first to vote for Casey. I hope I adressed everything. I'm just grooming myself, and by the way, why did I get a second penalty, I was doing a thing Gorilla's do when the mouse swooped in and said something, it is the same time, you can see.

"Don't say I did not warn you, now they come multiple times." Guts pointed at the sailor, who was the same as one they met earlier, that had introduced himself as a former sailor under the Bonaparte flag earlier. "They will keep coming, and if we stop giving them what they want, they will take our money by force."

Don't forget the battle order. -
Your facts seem to be off, I voted for Casey... I only switched my vote to Petey very late in the day. Now where did I leave those bananas...

But I thought we were done.

Excuse me, I'm going to gather plants to make a bed out of, it's what my kind does, apparantly.
