  1. But that's besides the point, I was expecting the comment of class envy, and of course it's a part of my argument, and yes, it's a complete combination of rogue and barbarian, but that was never my argument to begin with. And while you can it has not changed, gaining insane amounts of gold was kind of the raider's point, as I tried to illustrate in my earlier post. I'm not trying to get you to undo the nerf, Raiders were (clearly ) overpowered. I was simply raising the discussion if my views were correct, hoping to be proved wrong. Swils, I will follow how you plan on doing that, but unless it's because of some obscure item I don't know about, I can't think of anything, really.
  2. I showed with numbers that I am right. Perhaps read the whole thing before commenting.
  3. I've been thinking for a bit about this, and I feel the Raider is severely underpowered since the nerf, here is some numbers: Let's say a level 20 player with a WP: 15 melee weapon. Let's say he rolls 1 of each 6 rolls in a 6 round battle, no consumables, no free hits, 1 enemy, let's say level 20 as well. The first result is raider, the second Assassin. SHIELD: 35 Damage done. 20 Gold Stolen - 20 gold stolen, 1/6 chance of instakill. Critical Hit: 65 Damage done. - 50 Damage done, 1/6 chance of instakill Hit: 35 Damage done. - 35 Damage done, 1/6 chance of instakill Miss: 20 Gold Stolen - 15 Damage done, 1/6 chance of instakill Damage: 20 Damage taken - 20 Damage taken Special Damage: Special inflicted. - Special inflicted Total: 135 Damage done, 40 Gold Stolen, 20 Damage taken, plus Special Taken - 100 Damage done, 20 gold stolen, 4x 1/6 chance of instakill, 20 damage Taken, plus special taken. If you take into account the Assassin can wield non retrievable Ranged weapons, you can half the damage taken. Say there were four enemies of level 20, same rolls, still no free hits, the numbers would be in total: Raider: 240 Damage done, 100 gold stolen, 20 Damage taken, plus Special taken - Assassin: 100 Damage done, 80 gold stolen, 7 x 1/6 chance of instakill, 20 Damage taken (perhaps less if Ranged Weapon), Special taken (but perhaps from back row). The reason I am tallying this because I was wondering if it was worth sticking with Raider. The results are less bad than i initially figured from the top of my head, but my point remains, where Raider was at first the prime Gold getter, you see that their ability to get gold is not that much better than let's say Assassin anymore. Sure, 800 gold from a single attack is out of proportion, but the only trick Raiders really have got left since the nerf is their higher than MOST, damage, Although you can see classes like Black Knight and Sorcerer (I'm just talking from a base rogue perspective) Do comparable or even more damage, with more defense as well. My point is: Since the nerf, Raiders have lost their... Trick, Assassins have their instakill, Witches have their poison, mirror and hex, Sorcerers have their stun, confuse and mirror damage, Black Knights have their roll, mortal hit, Shield. You see Raiders don't do anything unique and especially well anymore. I am wondering if Raider has not become boring, and also if it's worth sticking to it from a strict game play perspective?
  4. Results of Round One of the High-Seas-Pirate-Orc-Slaver-Battle. Boomingham takes Nostrum. Atramor takes Smelling Salts Atramor vs. Bumboo - Critical Poisoned Hit (WP: 5 x 2 + Level 22 = 32 Damage Dealt + Fragile and Deadly Poisoned effects) Nyx vs. Barnacle - Shield Spellblade (WP: 14 x 3 + Level 22 = 64 / 2 + 64 x 2 = 160 Damage Dealt -30 = 130 Damage Dealt) Skrall vs. Blackpeg - Damage (34 Health - 46/2 Damage = 11 Health remaining) Lorenzo vs. Orc A - Damage (120 Health - 24 = 96 Health remaining) Bob vs. Orc B - Hit (WP: 5 + Level 15 = 20 Damage Dealt) Mac vs. Bosun - Hit/Shield Riposte (Level 15 + Level 36 = 51 Damage Dealt) Whales vs. Orc E - Damage (35 Health - 24 = 9 Health Remaining) Ignacio vs. Buggerer - Miss Christian takes Soma Jacob vs. Orc C - Critical Hit (WP: 5 x 2 + Level 15 = 25 Damage Dealt) Rufindel vs. Blister - Hit (WP: 10 + Level 14 = 24 / 2 = 12 Damage Dealt) Ellaria vs. Orc D - Special Damage (no Special Guard) (10 Damage Dealt + Bleeding Effect) Free hits: Ship Rat A vs. Boomingham (41 Health - 20 - 7 = 28 Health) 19 Counterstrike Damage. The battle begins. Boomingham stands proudly and moves to the front to down a Nostrum, but is bitten by a rat, who he manages to knock away eventually. Atramor takes a Smelling Salts and right after deals some fairly major damage with his new favorite weapon to the enemy magic user (they all seem to have one, what's up with that?), as well as dealing damage, he dishes out the deadly poisoned effect and the fragile effect. Nyx finally gets to deal some damage after the frustrations with the elements earlier, and she charges her fish... thing, with dark energy, and hits one of the armoured orcs on the head with it. Skrall underestimates the half blind, peglegged Slaver, and is hit by two slashing and cutting swords, and Captain Lorenzo and Whales are beat back by their respective opponents as well. The experienced sailors Bob and Mac deal fair damage to their opponents. While Jacob takes a Soma to receive favor from the gods, Jacob puts his Paladin training to good use to deal some damage as well. Ignacio misses, but Rufindel hits his opponent, surprisingly. Maybe because he is not actually carrying a weapon. Ellaria can not avoid the slashing sword of the Orc she is facing, and the Orc slashes her on the stomach, causing some damage and causing her to lose blood every turn. Bumboo takes double Deadly Poison Damage, and Ellaria Bleeds for damage from the cut on her stomach. 5. Immune to instant kills.
  6. "Benji, let Pizarro use his Water bomb to Bombard, he can do a lot of damage that way." Guts takes a Grand Potion, Magellan attacks Eurose, Mizuki takes a potion (if I am not allowed to say that for zakura, mizuki attacks the Lizardman instead).
  7. I can't say I've been following the quest, so I won't make an asession if the battles were too hard, perhaps they were a bit, and if you saw the first one was already very hard, maybe you could have maybe made the second one (was this the second one?) a lot easier and for the third one and up find a balance? What I did notice at a glance is that the specials are insanely complicated, is there a particular reason for that?
  8. Remember I need a battle order.
  9. That's not correct.
  10. Oh. Well, there is still that changed rule that SP is only used once in free hits, so he would have been hit with more damage anyway.
  11. No that got changed. Didn't it...?
  12. No... They would do 4 and 5 damage respectively, plus burning.
  13. It was a joke, but let's say it heals him to full health. The rest is just for fun.
  14. Nyx tries a Lightning Spell, and attempts to cast it at the water at the cost of an ether, but before she can, the other ship rams the Armory and Nyx has to discharge without hitting anything. The crew of the Armory is ready to fight. No major damage is done by the ram, but the Orcs quickly throw chains at the Armory and then both ships are tightly secured. It seems even if they wanted to, there would be no escape. Then the main orc, one with a turban, two swords and a pegleg, speaks: "Raaagh, Scupper the Vessel me Hearties, Yarr, Keelhaul the landlubbers and take their pieces of eight, These be worth a bunch when we bring em back to the Flotilla, Arrr." 15. He is going to have to use a smoke bomb.
  16. Alright, thanks for the clarification. Although you didn't do it that time in the last battle.
  17. Thanks for having me play, had a ton of fun, may you find someone else to take the bugs out of your fur and may the 80s be with you.
  18. Zepher, quick question: Do the Dancing Shoes effect stack with Hastened? I'm wondering, since it would actually make the item slightly useful for me, and the description only says 2 times?
  19. Nyx conjures up big waves at the cost of another Ether, but those waves do nothing but succeed in making the orcs wet.
  20. Skrall does not find sufficient oil to dip his bolts in, so that plan is a no go. As the ship gets closer, Nyx spends an Ether to throw a volley of fireballs at attacking ship, some fireballs hit the water, and a few hit the ship's bow, but the wet ship does not catch fire, and none of the Orcs seem to be bothered in a major way. The party stands helpless as the ship closes the gap between them and the Armory. The Armory's crewman have their cutlasses in hand, and so does Captain Lorenzo. It will be mere moments, before the sailors of both ship can virtually touch each other... It's too dark to take pictures now. Tomorrow morning battle will be joined, Yarr!
  21. Sandy, Guts has Ravage, not Gold Reaper, which would mean Guts has 29 Health, and Eurose should have lost a bit more Health (64 from ravage + killing the ogre, + 62 from Mizuki, so at 271 Health), Also he and Mizuki should no longer be encouraged, hastened and lucky, I think. And just wondering, have you been rolling for Benji's sudden deaths, and Sarick's Lucky effect? Guts uses a Grand Potion on himself, Mizuki and Raven, and takes a Nostrum, Smelling Salts and Mead. "Carvenhall, we're coming your way!" Guts scoops up all the loot, to divide later after all battles are done. "Mizuki, Raven, you did good, and I'll make sure you will get a share later. Make sure you follow my instructions next time though, Raven, and you might avoid knocking yourself out." Guts then runs towards the Southern Battle. Followed by Magellan and Mizuki. "Raven, if you wish to help elsewhere, make your choice." "Right. Carvenhall, order the Cannoneer to bombard something using his water bomb! Since we are here, you'll need a new battle order. Mizuki, attack the Minotaur Rioter, Magellan, use your Fire Bomb to Bombard the Porcish Rioter!" Guts himself attacked Eurose twice from the front row, with Lifestealer. Suggested Battle order: Pizarro Magellan Guts Guts Sarick Benji Benji William William Mizuki Alexander Raven (?)
