The Dundies Ain't no party like a Scranton party, 'cuz a Scranton party don't stop! -darthperson

Aww. I'm quite disappointed. I was hoping for something more like 4999, in size, and inclusion of Power Functions... Oh well, I probably wouldn't have bought it anyway...
-
If it were cheaper I would totally buy it. As much as I love hoodies, there is no way in hell that I'm forking out $50 for one, even if it is a cool one like this... *LINK* Thought I'd post it here for those who are interested... -darthperson

What's the point of this thread? We already have one topic on this, which is perfectly fine. Why did you feel the need to post another? Not trying to be a nag, it just seems there are many repeat threads...

Huge Price Increase for Pick A Brick Items!
Derek replied to Eurospanol25's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Any one notice the new Classic Space shirt torso what will be seen on a civilian in an Agents set this year? Also there is Mr. Krabs torso, which seems out of place. Both of these pieces are $2.50! The base plates are ridiculous, $6 for gray 8X16, $8 for a green 16x16, and $10 for a gray 16x32! If they were actually reasonable, I would consider buying some, especially the dark gray ones, which are pretty generic as far as theme goes. I remember a few months ago when the gray 16x32 was about $2! I almost bought a few.. Other notable pieces include a white beard for only $0.75, quiver for only $0.35, a dog for $1.95, chairs for $0.15, which are a steal compared to other prices, classic BURP in dark gray for $3.00 , 16 long chain for $2.00! Some of these prices are absolutely ridiculous, but I'm sure that the kids don't realize that. You can tell Lego knows which parts are popular, as they are the most expensive... -
VERY impressive! I love that coat! Great work! (and I don't know what I would do if my name was Hornblower )

I'm glad they gave the two boats different features instead of two identical boats. That would have been a very boring set (and build )
-
That's what she said. I seriously think that maybe we will see one more set (an exclusive) if that, and it will die a quiet, yet respectable death.
-
Does anyone know how much this set will be in USD? I checked the picture thread, and it was one of the only ones missing a price. If it is $50 or under, this will be one of the best City sets ever... Thanks.

I voted both. Both have their pros and cons, but I do think that they can coexist. I do wish that Lego would release a more realistic and mature line of town sets, with pricetags of varying degrees. They could do realistic vehicles, buildings (small shops, restaurants etc.), and other misc. things without being too expensive. A nice 1:1 ratio of women to men would be nice as well.

In the summer, the Star Wars Home One looks to include a classic male hairpiece in dark tan. Perhaps you can wait till then?

Target (US) has the Star Wars Hyena Droid Bomber for $15 this week. Of course I just bought it there on Friday for full price...

If you vote for all three, it won't matter because it will just be like you didn't vote at all! What's the point? Speak for yourself!
-
Question: Can we have all three?
-
Even if they are not, I'm sure loads of people would buy them. They do look pretty realistic though.

All of these are getting really annoying. Some of them are not even convincing, let alone funny. I hope this is poking fun at the other ones...

This review does this fantastic set justice! It is one of my all-time favorite Lego sets! Thanks for sharing!

I expect we will see some sort of bogus news on the frontpage or something...
-
That's what she said. This is a very nice MOC. I especially like the back, with the curved slope pieces and the thrusters (is that what its called ) with the wagon wheels. Nice work.

Nice review, it was very thorough. However, even for a set in 2000, this is one of the ugliest turds of a Lego set I've ever seen. I do, however, like the idea that it splits in half and opens up to the interior. I think that is a technique that should be used more often... Thanks for sharing.

You won't be much longer if you keep talking like that... I think that the 2010 battle packs will be Endor themed. We have a battle pack type Hoth set coming up this year, and Endor is an expensive set, so I think they will make battle packs with the figures then. I think its similar to what they did last year with the clones: put only a few of them in expensive set at first, so they will sell for the novelty, and then the next wave they made battle packs with clones...

They probably wouldn't, they would be in CW style. Is it me, or has this thread branched off into multiple page discussions about trivial things lately? (Palpatine's HAIR COLOR, Senate Guard Heads, etc.) It just to me that this thread has become less about news and discussions about the sets in general, and and more of little nitpicky things. It almost seems that this thread is taking the same path as the previous one... Just my two cents...

Target (US) has the Power Miners and Pirates $10 sets marked down to $8 this week. The ad also says that other selected Lego sets are on sale, but it doesn't say which...

I can't believe its only March, and some people are getting a hold of the August sets... It does look like Palpatine has blond hair on that box picture...
