How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
Derek replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I wonder if as the series goes on, we will see the transition from the clones with Episode 2 style armor, to the Episode 3 style. Just a thought. -
Nice review, very straightforward, and displayed all aspects of the set in just the right amount of detail. I wish I collected Lego when this was released, it looks like a cool little set. I think it is one of the cheapest sets with C3PO in it, and I don't have him yet. I'm hoping he will be in a set under $50 with the new pearl gold. Thanks for sharing. -darthperson

Wow! This looks just like the real poster! I love it! Fantastic work! I wish that I had the willpower and money (I have the artistic ability) to do something like this. Great mosaic!

Very nice! I love how you perfectly (and simply ) recreated their logo! All of your interior details are fantastic as well. It fits in seamlessly with the other buildings. VERY nice work!

Hmm. I don't remember seeing that before. Is it Fabuland or Beville? It is a nice piece, but unfortunately, I think that it is a tab too big for minifigures. Nice thread, 3.14 Toasts!

That would be great! The opposite would be nice as well.
-
I would hope so. There are plenty of other obscure pieces that could be used (and look much better) like Umbridge's from HP or the one that Leia has in the Endor set.

Interesting use of that torso. I always thought that the back was wierd and exaggerated. I also like the oxygen mask. Nice work.

*deleted* I apologize if any one was offended. It just got me mad, next time I need to calm down. I am very sorry.

Really. It probably costs them 50 cents (if that...) to make, and they go and charge $12. And the only color available is light grey, which isn't even realistic for any realistic creations. I do agree that they need some in more sets, like the new Krusty Krab, like mentioned. Not even just the 16x32, the smaller ones are just as nice, especially small city sets.

Wow. Its been nearly a year since there was a post in this thread. But anyway, if you haven't noticed, this set is on S@H for $19.98! Thats 80% off! Where I'm getting with this, do you think its worth ordering? I'm kinda on the fence...

HEY! I'm supposed to say that! Guess I was too late. This looks fantastic, it looks like you have a nice sturdy base, I can't wait to see you start to build the exterior. Dang! That thing is about half the size as your car! VERY impressive!

He is saying that is what its called on Wookiepedia. He saw the actual armor on the Clone Wars DVD (pretty reliable if you ask me... ) I have yet to get an Ahsoka. I was hoping to get the Twilight for half-price, but that deal went away a few days ago. I really have no interest in the AT-TE, and there is no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks that I am forking out $40 (plus shipping, $10 ) for the Starfighter, a $25 sized set. Its a set that is basically just different colors of things we already have. I'm personally waiting for the right set to get Ahsoka in. Look at the Indiana Jones line. The SAME EXACT Indy figure was in EVERY of the first 10 or so sets (and then some...), it seems most of you dealed with that. Ahsoka is also a main character, and this will make her 4th set in 3 waves? I really don't see the big deal... I understand you want pilots, try selling the Anakin and Ahsoka figures on Bricklink and use the money to buy pilots...

I would definitely say that I HATE the walkie-talkie. It is WAY over-used, made out of a cheapish material that gets all dinged up after a while, and it isn't very realistic anymore. I think Lego should make a cell phone to replace this piece (for most cases). However, there are many pieces that I LOVE. These include the new telescope, the shovel, pushbroom, any food pieces, cups, new Indy's bag, the Clone commander accessories, and the new handcuffs.

I bet someone is kicking themself. I also regret not buying the 2004 Falcon when it was half price at Target a few years ago on Black Friday.

Nice review. But as for the set itself, ew. This is a perfect example of how much better and more realistic Lego is getting with their models. The entire set just looks too blocky and messy. Once Lego calms down with the Clone Wars, I would like to see this set remade. I think they could do a fantastic job with all of the pieces we've gotten since then. I like the actual vehicle in the movies, and I think that it should be done properly before the theme ends (granted the liscense isn't renewed...) Thanks for the review!

The Droid Tri-fighter from 2005. It was the Halloween of that year that I got my first Star Wars set: Anakin's Starfighter and Vulture Droid. At that point, I was not compulsive about getting every set I can afford, especially the small ones (I like getting all of the sets from all themes that are under $20. That way, I can still have a large collection, with variety and not going broke). But that looks like such a nice set , well designed too. If I had the opporunity to buy it right now for MSRP, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Do you think we'll get a Lego LotR or Lego Hobbit brand?
Derek replied to Dollar Bill's topic in LEGO Licensed
To answer your topic question, no. It's not gonna happen. -
Does it really matter that much? I'm just glad we got this set, I couldn't care less that they had the boats mixed up in some internet video...

Nice review. I really like these Mini sets and I wish TLC will resurrect the line. I recently purchased the mini V-19 Torrent and Grievous' Starfighter and they are really solid little sets with great design. Its a shame that the line ended the way it did. Your reviews are making me want these sets I was never able to get!

As a matter of fact I do. I got it for $60 at Target on Black Friday.

I know you are entitled to your own opinion, but do you even have that set?! The Venator wastes sooo much space, its a shame that they didn't to an open interior like in 6211. Half of the ship (All of the interior space... ) is wasted on Palpatine's office.... I do agree that the playability on the Venator is better, but only missile/bomb wise...

How about some Dark/Chocolate Brown? That is my favorite new color, and if they pull it off the right way, I think it could be done beautifully. However, if it is a firehouse, I think it will be Dark Red with dark or normal tan, which still could be done beautifully. Here could be the set- Two story building, with bottom primarily dark red (maybe a brick like effect) and top primarily dark tan. Bottom story has two garages with opening doors, and office/dispatch center. Top story has beds, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, lockers, and of course a pole to the bottom floor . 7 minifigures- Chief, receptionist woman, 3 firemen with gear, 1 firewoman with gear and 1 fireman with normal clothes. Also includes a dalmatian (white dog with black spots) and fire truck. 1000+ pieces, $100 USD
