  1. Cool micro-ships (and walker). I like the larger ones - that would be the science vessel and phees transport - the most. The middle sections of the latter are looking very convincing. Ventress and Phee are greatly mixed together minifigs!
  2. I like the lime coloring on your build The front view is very smooth and convincing. Do you have a top view of the fighter as well? The Y-Wing being the work horse of the Rebel fleet was always one of my favorites, since the very first Lego Y-Wing vs TIE Fighter set from 1999 I got
  3. *Your entry has earned 11 XP + 3 bonus for a total of 14 XP (S:4, T:4, A:3) Raiders of the Lost Art - A Star Wars Mysteries Story Chapter Overview with Link: Dramatis Personae: ******* Chapter 9 - The Trip to Aetwelt << to previous chapter After his meeting with Talon Karrde, Len'ya returns to the Cloudrunner and initiates immediate take-off. Their destination is Aetwelt- a swampy planet in the Outer Rim, infamous for its slave market. While Xher is steering the modified YV-560 courier, Bolt and Len'ya discuss the next steps… » Len'ya, why are we heading to Aetwelt? If you want my full support, you need to induct me into your plans. « » I will soon. The task to recover the imperial plunder gets more difficult. First, we need to recruit another team member. A pickpocket. « » We have already an assassin and now we're getting a thief!? « » Remember, the Rebellion was once saved by farmboys, pirates and scoundrels. « » Alright, alright. Who's that pickpocket we got to pick-up? « » The best. And I hope we find him in Shag City. By the way, Xher told you her story, didn't she? What do you think? « » She wants Vonregs head. But there is more to it. I feel it. Vonreg took the ring of Nurbia, but where is it now? « » That my dear, is the question... « After a long flight, the Cloudrunner arrives at Aetwelt. The lush world features many extraordinary sites, such as the 16-thousenders - a supermassive mountain massif - or the gigantic river Tajkal originating there. Where the Tajkal flows into an ocean, there spreads a vast marshland with mangrove forrests as far as the eye can reach. It is inhabited by pirates, slavers and swampers, who harvest so-called swamp pralines, an important ingredient for special type of spice. » Land a little bit outside in the marshes there. This sector is still under control of the Imperial Remnant and we don't want to attract their attention. « » Land a little bit outside...pff! We are marching for two hours now and still 'bout three to go. The Squitos gonna kill us - if we not slip into a Greytors jaws first! « » Look, there is one of the swampers. Maybe he will share his ride. « Indeed, the swamper is happy to ferry the agents to Shag City and getting some credits for reward. » Y'er luckey y'er found meh. Try to hold on somethin' when we bump 'em trees! « to next chapter >> ******* Hello and welcome to Chapter 9. The heroes transfer to Aetwelt, a world that is not featured in any canon, but originating in a pen&paper RPG I'm taking care of. The next MOC featuring Aetwelts capital Shag City is nearly ready and I hope to publish soon! Here another image of the swampers' swamp skiff. The idea behind was to make-over an airboat known from the real world Everglades to make it look Star Wars-y
  4. Thanks! Actually the role of Bolt was up for grabs to Brendan Gleeson, but your casting suggestion is serious competition
  5. I have a question about the bonus system: does it always need to be a different character or build to get the bonus? Let's say I include my agents Len'ya and Bolt in my story builds. Can I always apply for the CorSec bonus? Or if I choose to include the very same starfighter in many builds, can I apply for the +5 bonus multiple times as well or does it need to be a new, unique ship? The same question holds for the bonuses of the other factions.
  6. Thank you very much, I really appreciate your positive feedback and glad someone's reading this My initial idea actually was a temple praying hall with an altar or something, but during building it became a morbid crypt . Anyway this reflect the stakes and the sacrifice of the guardians much more, I guess. The whole RotLA- story is building up and the tone is more like the one of an agent thriller, but still I once wanted to try some real action shots with blaster bolts and stuff. So I sneaked them in with this flashback here. It was fun!

On board of the Cloudrunner at starting ramp 12… » So… Black Sun, now that I’m leading this venture, I would like to know your story. « » Wait, who made you the boss, old fossil? « » Len’ya. When he recruited me, back there at the bar, I suppose. « » No he didn’t! « » Listen. I know Len’ya lied about you, to stop our little needling before. You may be talented. You may even be an assassin of the Black Sun. But you don’t know him very long. And he would definitely not trust you with his life. You shouldn’t either. The point is, Len’ya is a Bothan. They trust no one. But he wants his operation to be a success, so he came to me. And be aware: He’s ruthless and manipulating. He will do what he do - Have secrets, leave without saying and pop up out of nowhere. That’s why he needs a team leader who actually cares. « » Huh … so you are the legendary spy, Arthemias Bolt. « » Fossil will do. Anyway I’m getting too old for these missions. So how about you? Let’s start with this one: Why you always make that face? « » … « » Yeah, that one. « » … « » Much better. « » Ok, my story... I grew up in a small village near the Temple of Nurbia on a remote, independent world in the Mandalore sector. One day, the Empire came and raided the temple. My mother was the guardian primus and as the sanctuary was under siege, she had to make a difficult decision... « » Xher, these men are brutal and unforgiving. We guardians have sworn to defend Nurbias crypt and her ring with our lives. But you daughter, you have not taken the vow. You can live! There is the slit behind the sarcophagus. It will lead you to safety. « » But mum… « » Go! We will see each other in afterlife! « » They waited for the intruders and they soon came. « » My mother fought bravely, but was eventually struck down. « » Then in came their leader. « » Vonreg… « » I still remember his face, when he killed my defenseless mother on the ground. I still remember how he took the ring of Nurbia (* check out its twin here). I still remember how he ordered to plunder the sanctuary, before they burned everything down. « » I couldn’t run away. I turned, left my hideout and tried to strike him down. But a stormtrooper hindered me. « » Brave, but foolish. You there trooper! You will deal with this little brat outside! « » The stormtrooper took me outside of the temple but she couldn’t pull the trigger. She told me I should run and never come back. And that’s what I did. But I never forget and I never forgive! « » Len’ya knows about your vendetta…That’s why he recruited you, heh? Dank Farrik! He wants to use your anger… and if I’m not wrong, that ring you mentioned… there is more to it, isn’t it? « » Len’ya promised me that we will stop Vonreg and return the ring where it belongs. « » Ugh, what a story! That’s the best I heard for a long time. I’ve spoken. « » Bloody hell?! Who’s that? « » Rietta. Our Quartermaster. She’s ok. « » Any other crew members I need to know?! « to next chapter >> ******** Hey there! So now you know a little bit more about the Falleen assassin Xher. I hope you enjoyed the story and sorry if the entries get too long! I placed the build in the Mandalore sector O7, even though it's a flashback and the narrator is sitting in M11. Hope that it's ok. Find here some additional images of the temple and minifigures at daylight
  8. I'm glad it's somewhat recognizable as a reminiscence to that Corellia speeder chase in Solo Thanks! I probably should have mentioned a little bit more about them as not every visitor to the entry might know the background. They are Talon Karrde's Vornskr hounds named Sturm and Drang, from the original Thrawn trilogy by T. Zahn I used them already for the May the 4th contest and I'm quite proud of how they turned out in minifig scale . Here an additional picture: By the way, small May the 4th reuse in Mysteries... it's going to be 2x points here for the dogs, isn't it? (well not if Dooku had the last say - you know, twice the pride, and all the rest...)
  9. Thanks for all the nice feedback, really appreciate it I'm happy that the streets on Corellia are recognizable Indeed, that was the hardest part. Those last 20% make 80% of work to make it look so that I'm fine with it Totally true! The radio plays are just perfect! They inspired me to make my M4-24 entry and include Karrde for a cameo here!
  10. *Your entry has earned 13 XP + 3 bonus for a total of 16 XP (S:5, T:4, A:4) Raiders of the Lost Art - A Star Wars Mysteries Story Dramatis Personae: ******* Chapter 7 - Corellia Speeder Bike Chase << to previous chapter It's an early morning on Corellia. Aves is playing taxi for Ward Len'ya and steering his Gliese tandem speeder towards the old Coronet industrial center, when they suddenly get chased by some relentless bikers. » We've been compromised! « » No. This has nothing to do with you! They are coming for me! It's the Ban-Krieva-Gang! I've been smuggling for their boss and she thinks I still owe her some money. But I strongly disagree! « » Hrmpf. Seems like she lost her patience with you. If we make it, I expect compensation from your boss for this incident! « » Listen, I'm really sorry for this, but no worries. This baby has still some surprises left in her! « Aves manages to outdistance the biker gang and besides some scratches on his beloved tandem, he deploys Len'ya safely to his meeting at the docks... » Mr. Karrde. « » Mr. Len'ya. Good you made it safely. Aves already informed me via intercomm. « » It was close. Too close. Your lieutenant nearly had us killed with his unfinished business. I expect you comepensate for his deficiencies. « » I take responsibility for the actions of my personel. And I think you know that. By the way, I just received the information from my crew, that some years ago, you and the Ban-Krieva-Gang had business going on too. It's for sure just a coincidence and you would never set up one of my employees to undermine my position in our negotiations? « » Of course not. « » Right. After we settled on this, what can a ragged smuggler like I do for you? « » You are too humble, Karrde. Jabba the Hutt's businesses were up for grabs and rumors say, an unknown organisation is taking over. I was maybe thinking you... « » Haha, that's good! I'm not interested in a remote desert palace and a treacherous entournage! Bib Fortuna, is the master of Tatooine now and he's already emulating Jabbas appetite, I heard. « » Jabbas power structure was based on more than a palace and his obesity. We both know that. Anyway. Do you have, what I asked you for? « » Hm. First of all, I don't want to get roped into this war, Len'ya. I'm neutral. What you want, could affect my business in the Imperial sectors, if it comes out. « » The Empire is no more, Karrde. You soon will be dealing with a bunch of bandits pretending to be the empire's last stand, while they squeeze the life out of the worlds they occupy. The sooner they fall, the better. We both expected a deal. It's simple. You have the information and the Republic pays you well. « » Maybe. Still, I have a reputation to lose. And I don't trust you. Especially you should understand that. I'm afraid, I cannot not give you what you requested, Len'ya. But I may give you the information on how you can get what you need. Provided you are willing to pay the price... « to next chapter >> ******* Additional images:
  11. Thank you and you are right. The ground plates are not optimal. I needed a set for placing the pretty large ship so 64×64 it should be. And I just don't have enough lbg tiles Anyway this set to introduce the Cloudrunner was not intended to be super eye catching but I tried a more pragmatic approach. After I started the story I feel a little with them film makers when they have to decide what to build up as a set in high detail and what to keep more simple to be able to move on with the story. The dark tan wall plates were coming of a similar thought. How can I cover a tall background with limited amount of bricks and make it still look sloped and somewhat appealing Next chapter coming soon Thank you. You mean the watch tower? I had it also on the other airfield build, manned with a rebel trooper .
  12. This answers the question if Mar'Cato is an elite scout or not. Poor innocent pirate Cool action shot and nice start to the game. To me, Crait was one of the very few highlights of TLJ (the planet design, not the battle), with the salty plains and red soil below and you caught it quite nicely.
  13. Hello and welcome . So you chose le côté obscur... Bad for the light side, good for them baddies. Mar'Cato seems like he's a little bit more capable than the scouts from the beginning of Mandalorian, season 2. But we'll see . Yet he has to realize that his beloved Empire is shattered and a New Republic on the rise Nuff said. First and foremost, enjoy building and have fun!
  14. I was looking forward to this You are the master of texture. Period. Each and every brick is placed with purpose. No wonder it took you longer this time Great finale to the episode on Dagro! I already expected the darkest of them Sith lords to be a fake one, but still the rumours of his ascent spread across the stars. Good that Rox and his team ended this charade. The building on the right is amazing and since I had a preview on it in our team's thread already, I was curious about the left one. Splendid appearence and the oval top is just slick. And the door... aren't that those shooters creating that neat color transition? Such a nice part usage! Last but not least, the arch is great with the leaning reddish columns. You did here some nice little reprise of your last builds, also with the republic spy kneeling atop of the white building.
  15. Congratulations to all the other winners, cheers to all the participants and thanks to the organizers for enabling the contest. It was both an enjoyable challenge and fun to address the different categories and it really catalyzed so many splendid builds! Looking forward to seeing many of you in the Mysteries RPG. Hint: The Light Side team may be trailing but you can change the fate. Choose the light and start building for the New Rebublic!
  16. What I would have loved for the Episode 1 anniversary were either a Naboo troopers or Gungan army battle pack with a Kaadu. That would have nicely complemented the B1's that came as May the 4th special. Maybe we'll get that someday An alien "battle pack" would also be something I'd definitely go for... Edit: sorry I think it's the wrong category. It's more part of wishlist
  17. This is perfect. Absolutely convincing. 10/10.
  18. This is gorgeous! I very much like your opee and this a great complement. Next the sando! And in scale

So it is Madine in command of this undertaking?« »Let's just say ... he is aware of what we do. Let's get aboard.« The three settle in the lounge of the courier ship. » So what did I miss? Is the Alliance still advancing?« » You heard about Valor, right?« » Oh I did. Was a big blow. Any news on who dunnit?« » Could have been any remnant Warlord or independent mobster, sending a message. What matters is, that the New Rebublic lost essential assets that day. We still may have better morale and stand united but the reality is, the ISB never ceased to exist. And they're regrouping. Just read this. « Bolt reading from a pad... » Hrmpf. I'll gladly show 'em one of those camps on Kashyyyk, Narkina or Clonedyke. Give 'em an inside tour. This is wrong on so many levels. Where you got this?« » It is a transcript of a remnant town hall. Got it via the network. The important thing is, that there are Imperials who do everything to undermine the Republic efforts for freedom and peace. We are fighting on many fronts. There is the sighting of a Sith lord on Dagro. There are rumors of a dangerous remnant Quarren Moff. And then there is people like Vonreg. « » But we have Jedi Skywalker, don't we? He blew up the Death Star. Twice. « » I think you got it wrong, but even if it were so, he is only one man and there is a myriad of worlds on fire. We must - « Suddenly, the hatch bell rings. Xher is checking for the intruder. » Nice ship you have. YV-560, right? I want to speak with the Bothan.« » It is alright, Xher. This young man is Mr. Aves. You being here is a surprise for sure, smuggler. But a welcome one. Does that mean he agreed to a meeting?« » Come with me and find out. But I only have one free seat...« to next chapter >> ***** Hello and welcome to the 6. chapter of RotLA. The YV-560 Cloudrunner is a ship I built already some months ago and it was displayed on flickr so I guess it should not count for scoring. Hence here some additional images of the hangar set on Corellia without it.
  20. Thank you It came very spontaneously with the evening light and looked striking. Sure he is The idea to add an (of course) golden plant to the window scene came also spontaneously during building. And suddenly Vonreg was casually cherishing the golden shrub, while making that important call
  21. Very cool entry and an even cooler pilot, it seems The ship itself is great but the set around makes it truly remarkable. I can hear the crowd buzzing when Keeto races by. And above all, the water is amazing. I think this is a great example of how to make a convincing splash effect. The intro is cool and I'm curious to see more of Keeto making another graceful exit!

The changeling served the purpose again and I have Kuenaga in my grip. I just need to organize a safe transport... Now what do you have for me? « » You have received an invitation to the gala dinner, master! « » Finally! I knew they could not afford to keep me off the invitee list! « » Your influence on the committee for economics helped, I reckon. « » I hope the princess will be there as well... « » She will attend the dinner, master. At least according to the official list of attendees. « » Good, good! For so long I want to make a courtesy call on her. We have plenty to talk about… « to next chapter >> ***** Hello, this is a small vignette of Vonreg in his mansion, where he safely dictates the words to his double on Coruscant. I didn't want to put this build into the Coruscant post so that scoring is not mixed up. So the story is a bit split. Here are additional pics at indirect sunlight:

On Coruscant, a mysterious hooded figure arrives and passes all security measures, set up by the alerted ISB... »Who is she? She's beautiful! « »i don't know. I've never seen her here. « The mysterious hooded figure has a clear destination... ...the abandoned industrial levels, deep down, under kilometers of concrete and transparisteel, where he or she is already impatiently awaited... »Baron Vonreg. Is it you? I was afraid you weren't coming. Coruscant isn't safe anymore. Especially not for the emperor’s faithful. « »Indeed. I heard that Isard is tired of the Grand Vizier and the group of lickspits the imperial council always was. « »Rude, but true. She has put the grand vizier under house arrest. The two are playing a game of Holo-chess and we are the pawns. « »You can imagine, I assumed a big risk to come here, curator Kuenaga. This time, you better have something of value for me. « » Hrmpf. How the tides turn... some time ago, you wouldn't be this daring… « The old man produces an artifact out of his pocket and hands it over to Vonreg. » Ah, the Disciples' Heart. Good enough - for the time being. « »So you only came here to scrounge another piece of the late emperors treasures? Or are you finally willing to help me? You know I need to get off world. Sooner or later, she will kill us! « »I understand your impatience but that won't be easy, curator. The ISB has its agents everywhere. « »But you... you managed to come here. Despite being wanted for treason. Why would they let you pass, unless... you are part of the ISB?! « »Calm yourself, Kuenaga. I'm no friend of Isard and her band of spies. I have other ways to come and go... « Indeed. The real Ezhugh Vonreg is safe somewhere else, giving orders to his servant.... »I can get you off world. But it will come with a price. « »What do you want, Vonreg? Another relic from the Imperial palace? « »No. You know better than me that Palpatine kept his most precious artifacts safe from the cringers here. The real treasure is on a hidden planet somewhere. And I want it all... « to next chapter >> ***** Hello and welcome to chapter 4 of the "Raiders of the Lost Art". I had to pull-in this piece of story and change of perspective because of the "May the 4th" contest. I hope with the double posting alongside my Coruscant entry for M4-24, it is eligible for the x2 points Anyway, you can follow-up on the story with Ward Len'ya, Xher and Arthemias Bolt soon...
  24. I think there is no contraindication in the rules to post more than one entry per category. In the end all get their score on their own. But I understand your concern in terms of the aggregate. Anticipating the mods reply, I would withdraw my 'Jedi Night' build for the Grand Admiral contest.
  25. Thank you very much Haha not Doctor Strange. Professor Strange. But he should be a Doctor then too. It's the Hugo Strange minifig Thanks a lot! It's not a mannequin It should be Xizor, the Falleen black sun underlord. He is often depicted in purple and gold. I gave him a skull into the hand as a reference to his title prince (like Shakespearean prince Hamlet. Very meta, I know). I appreciate that, you highlight such a small detail with the Rodian . Thank you! I know the entries are similar from the setting point of view. I saw your amazing palace but I would not be able to change the setting (and planned title) of my build anymore .
