  1. ***** » At the start of the third and final lap, Sebulba is in the lead – closely followed by Skywalker!!! « Beed ***** Hello everyone, this is my entry for the May, the 4th "The Phantom Menace" Category. TPM is probably the prequel movie I enjoy re-watching the most. Unlike some others, I like the plot and my highlight is definitely the pod race. I remember, as a child I got the 7131 Anakin’s Pod Racer as a gift. Back then, I already had the X-Wing, Y-Wing and TIE Advanced star fighters from the original trilogy and had plenty of fun playing dogfights with them. But as much as I liked the pod race in the film, I didn’t really know what to do with that pod racer model. You can’t reenact the race with one racer, do you? So all the parts quickly joined the other spare ones in that large Lego crate. Until today most of them were not really useful, but I never stopped enjoying the Boonta Eve classic – moreover Episode 1 Racer was and is one of my favorite video games. And finally, today, the iconic parts served a purpose – my home built Anakin’s podracer! I hope you like it. Here are some more angles on the pod racer:
  2. Splendid entry! AG-77 in action It got the orange clay, the mineral acid pit, the mining structures and the Pykes - it's Kessel! Very sound composition. I like the edges of your build. It makes it a nice display! We'll have to keep an eye on the mercs Good to have you here!
  3. Wow, what a cool command center with great lighting! And who is "the guy"?! Is it...? Could it be...? No!... Thanks for the scoring, chapeau to the dark side but next time we'll get you MandoLando you can post entries anytime following your own story and pace. Just keep in mind that only your factions sectors, their surroundings or grids with a hyperspace lane running through a controlled one are eligible for points (I sound like a senior now ) Another edit: I just saw you posted the one with the Wookieed already
  4. Thank you! Well I purposely left open what exactly Art Bolt was paying for, in that shady dark alley establishment. It's up to your fantasy and to the rating of this forum Don't even remember which original set the "legs" are from. Some old Mars mission Lego maybe? Thanks for following the story I'll try to not let you wait all too long for the next part.
  5. Amazing figures you have there! Inquisitor Ahsoka is my favorite and Ligth Vader is great too.
  6. Well done indeed! I especially like the differently colored transparent wall parts. It gives the build a very Coruscant-y mood! I like the idea of the markets as well. Such a nice scenery. The green speeder is another highlight, though from design relatives point of view it looks more like an earth bound land speeder. Did it lose traction and is it about to fall of the roof, or is it supposed to be a flying one?
  7. *Your entry has earned 15 XP + 3 bonus for a total of 18 XP (S:6, T:5, A:4) ***** Raiders of the Lost Art - A Star Wars Mysteries Story << to previous chapter Chapter 2 - Finding Art Present. Late evening, somewhere near the old Coronet spaceport on Corellia… »He in there? « »He was easy to track down... Listen, in general I trust your instincts, Len’ya, but in this case… he doesn’t look very legendary to me. « »Art Bolt is one of the most prolific agents the Alliance had. He worked undercover for years. He for instance once provided the alliance a full squadron of X-Wings while pretending he was an imperial Colonel! We’ll need him. Would you go and get him? « Moments later… »Hey! Get your hands of me! I paid for that! « »Arthemias Bolt… good to meet you again. « » Le – Len’ya?! But…You are dead! « » Ah, the best compliment for a spy, ain’t it? But you are right. I was dead. … Bolt, the New Republic needs you. « » Nah thanks, I’m retired. « » You are drunk. And for people like us there is no retirement. Come with me. I have a job for you. « » What kind of job is it anyway? « » Retrieving Imperial Plunder. « »I pass. That’s not worth the effort, isn't it? Burning intelligence resources for some lost art? « » How about unmasking Ezhugh Vonreg then? « Arthemias Bolt is suddenly wide awake... » Vonreg? Second thought, I’m in. « » Hold on. Why the change of heart, old fossil? « » The old fossil has his reasons. I mean, you know Vonreg, right? He was an Imperial supporter until the very end. And when tides turned and the Empire shattered, he lamented that the emperor mind-controlled him and threatened his family. And how about them alliance politicians? They embraced his return because he offered extensive financial support for the new Republic. But I don’t buy it. For me, there are two types of former Imperials: The ones who defected after Alderaan and the ones who defected after Endor. The latter are not to be trusted. « » ... Quite the talker, huh? « » Len’ya, where did you get your 'friendly' Falleen bodyguard? Another asset of yours? « »Xher is a talented field agent. She works for my network since years. Eventually, she was an assassin for the Black Sun before I recruited her. « »Oh snap. I forgot. There is another type of people I distrust… « »And we don’t need to carry dead weight on our mission… « »Enough of that. I would trust Xher with my life. And we need Bolt to support against Vonreg. So let’s get to the ship. We have still some recruiting and gathering intel to do... « to next chapter >> *****
  8. Thank you, guys, I really appreciate it Hope I can keep up to the expectations as the story evolves Stay tuned
  9. *Your entry has earned 13 XP (S:5, T:4, A:4) ***** Raiders of the Lost Art - A Star Wars Mysteries Story Chapter 1 - Prologue Some time before the Battle of Yavin. The throne room of Mount Tantiss, Imperial treasure world Wayland. » My emperor, Baron Ezhugh Vonreg, as you ordered! « » Good. Your service is no longer required, Commander. Leave us alone. « » Your Highness. It’s an honor for me and my family to be at your service. « » Yes, your family indeed serves the Empire well, baron. « » Forgive my boldness, but why am I here? And where is here? « » You will learn your fate very soon, my friend. And now rise and come with me. « The emperor leads baron Vonreg around his exhibition of rare and precious artifacts and relics from each and every corner of his Empire… » Is that… the Ring of Xerbia? « » Yes… a fine relic that has been recently brought into my custody. And there is more to come. « Finally, they remain at the large holo table in the center of the throne room. » There is a myriad of worlds that crave for our lead, baron. They are lost and need order. « » No doubt, your highness, but where can I help? « » You are a collector of art yourself, baron. And you have enriched yourself in the glorious campaigns, where your Vonreg cousins and nephews were in duty of my forces. Don’t deny it! « » I … Forgive me my lord. What is mine is yours. And I accept any sentence. « » Indeed. My curator will visit your home world soon to … register your collection. « » I can’t await his visit. My lord, if you were not going to punish me…, why would you summon me here? « » Why, to recruit you, of course… It is one of the empire’s missions to save precious artifacts from the barbarians and you, my friend, will lead the way… « to next chapter >> ***** Hello there and welcome to the first chapter of Raiders of the Lost Art - A Star Wars Mysteries Story. There it is, the Throne Room on Wayland, I was teasing in the May the 4th contest MOC. I hope you like it. There is more to come soon!
  10. Hello and first of all thank you very much to all of you for the positive feedback! Very much appreciated! I'm very happy you like the Vornskrs! It took some time to figure out how to build a convincing hound in minifig scale. I had them and the related figs already ready for some time and I'm glad I finally was "bold" enough to post them I will use the throne room then elsewhere, in Mysteries. Thanks, it was actually my favorite figure to tinker with. I sacrificed a more Gandalf- od Dumbledore-esque wizard look for this bare-chested one, as an homage to the C'Baoth on the cover page of the "Heir of the Empire" book Haha, good catch, if I remember correctly is indeed one of Hermiones faces . I'm glad you like the interpretation of Mara. I didn't remember that There are so many different images of Karrde with long hair and short beard, it was totally intuitive to build him like I did. Eventually, I think the more common long-hair depiction is fitting to the character.
  11. Great story, cool build. First I boggled, cause the text was long, but who am I to judge . It's is very well written and entertaining. It complements the depicted story perfectly. I wonder if it is a greater story arc of some kind? Fan fiction or RPG? Or just a cool snip for that scene? Was Flank attacked because of incoming Order 66, or was that because of the secret meeting?
  12. Hello MandoLando, A nice little scene! However, the resolution is quite low. I guess you tried to attach a pic directly to the post? I made the same lesson when I started here recently. It won't work, there is so little space for uploads. Don't bother with trying. Maybe you have a flickr account and can reference the pics in high resolution there? It's how I do it. And if not, one is easily set up. Just don't use your real name if you don't want to. It will be displayed for everyone (another lesson) I like the front of your speeder bike very much, by the way
  13. Hello again, this will be a double strike today, with my second entry for the 'Duel of the Fates' contest ( I hope I manage to address the other categories too). I could not decide which to post, so I hope that - changing a little bit Count Dookus words - "Twice the pride, doubles the chances". This one is more straight forward than "The Jedi Night" entry, as the scene and the characters are known. I have build a "Throne room on Wayland" scene recently, but yet not posted it anywhere. It has much more parts than 100, but I realized I could reduce it significantly and just take the minifigs for this contest and display. So here is a scene from the legend(ary) book "The Last Command" by Timothy Zahn, better known as the 3rd book of the Thrawn trilogy. The conflict is arranged around the holo table of the throne room. The emperor used the table to command his forces around the galaxy. He could zoom into any system and decide which planet to take next. Story brief: Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade enter the throne room of the late emperor on the secret world Wayland. They are awaited by the Dark Jedi Master and emperor's warden of treasures Joruus C'Baoth. As neither Luke nor Mara want to join him, he calls his secret weapon, Luuke Skywalker - a clone made out of Luke's lost hand in Cloud City. He even carries his father's lightsaber! While Luke has to fight "himself", C'Baoth wants to turn Mara to the Dark Side. She is not very responsive, so he decides pain would be the best teacher. His force lightning is irresistible! In the mean time, Han Solo leads Leia Organa-Solo and the smuggler Talon Karrde, together with his force-sensitive Vornskr-hounds 'Sturm and Drang'* to the throne room. Leia wants to help her brother. As they arrive, the duel of fates is raging... I hope you like the moc and the minifigs! *) I realized Talon has shot the tails of the beasts, but I didn't want to change it. They look better with a tail ;-)
  14. ********************* The Jedi Night Some years before the Naboo trade embargo. Jedi-Masters Olera Sol and Boe Maven followed a distress call to the remote world Medjaani in the Outer-Rim territories. The planet was a cold and harsh world, completely covered with frozen oceans and thick layers of snow. The Jedi felt a chill upon their arrival that went beyond the physical perception of temperature. The planet was dark and menacing. The Dark Side of the force was strong here. The Jedi found nothing but one habitable volcanic island, where some forgotten colonists lived. They were Twi'lek and descendants of slaves that crash-landed on the planet generations ago. Hard-bitten folk that survived in the deadly environment warmed by thermal water and fed by feathered fish from the ocean. There was the cold and there were the flying beasts that hunted preferably after nightfall. And the nights on Medjaani, never seemed to end. One Medjaani day took 12 standard days. And that meant 6 full days of cold and darkness. The Twi'lek called it the 'long night' and the Jedi arrived right before dusk. The cold and the beast were not the only problem of the Medjaani-Twi'lek. At night, a plague crept from the mountains into the villages. Black tendrils that sprawled from each and every crack in the ground. Black fleshy tentacles, craving for the living. Irresistible and menacing. Whom they touched, got paralyzed and finally absorbed by the plague. The group of Jedi promised to find the origin of the plague, bring back balance and save the colonists. Soon they not only found out, that they were dealing with a force-sensitive macro-organism, spanning the whole island, but also that this entity was full of agony and hate. It was the source of the darkness in the force around them. A creature turned to the dark side. Out of control and ulcerating across the island. And with each life form it absorbed, it became more self-aware, intelligent and evil. The long night tested the Jedi. They had to resist the entity and they had to find a way to stop the spread. The Jedi even were able to find the reason for the being's agony and anger, but it was too late. It didn't want to be healed any more. It wanted to devour. Devour all life on Medjaani. Though they fought bravely, the Jedi could not stop the black creepy menace physically. It was until the Jedi realized, they had to let go. And as their bodies were covered with black tendrils and their consciousness fused into the entity's mind, they stroke back. Light triumphed over darkness and the Jedi finally prevailed in this contest of wills. The entity ceased, the Jedi survived. And after the dark, there came a new dawn on Medjaani and from this time on, the colonist would remember this long night as the 'Jedi Night'... ********************* This is the brief synopsis of an campaign, I have created and been game mastering recently. The first time, all of the players had the chance to play as a Jedi and it turned out perfect! For the Duel of the Fates contest, I depict a scene, where the Jedi are circled by the dark tendrils, that pierce out of the snow. I hope you like the build and the characters! If you enjoyed reading so far, here come last, but not least, the character profiles: Upper left: Name: Boe Maven Species: Human Rank: Jedi Master Characteristics and background: Boe is principal of the Jedi agricultural corps and literally rooted to the soil. For a Jedi, he has a shaggy appearance and never wears shoes. Some other masters like Dooku turn up their noses at him, but Boe does not mind. He is in peace with himself and the force. He loves exotic plants and nature and does not participate in politics. He prides himself for not having used his lightsaber in conflict for over 20 years and always carrying some tea leafs in his bag -"There is always time for tea", he uses to say. When his friend Olera Sol calls him to assist in a mysterious distress call, he follows her without hesitation. His Padawan is Phex Gheero. Upper middle: Name: Brael Altrus Species: Human Rank: Padawan Characteristics and background: Brael is the Padawan of Master Olera Sol. Like his master, he wants to become a guardian of peace and leans heavily on his sword fighting skills. He helps his friend Phex to become better in lightsaber dueling, as her master Boe does not give a lot for aggressive negotiations. Upper right: Name: Stybla’ro’omwis Species: Chiss Rank: Padawan Characteristics and background: Stybla is a Padawan that recently lost her master and at the beginning of the adventure dwells on a small Jedi exclave to overcome the loss. Her specialty is clairvoyance. She senses the danger looming on Medjaani and together with Jaku Takan they decide to go and help. There, they join forces with masters Olera and Boe and their padawans. Lower left: Name: Jaku Takan Species: Klatooinian Rank: Jedi Knight Characteristics and background: Jaku also resides at the exclave to overcome sorrow. It was also his former master that ceased recently. He has a strong bond to Stybs, the young Padawan of his late master. Jaku is a knight and one of the best sword fighters of the temple. With his skills he can match the best of the best, like masters Windu and Dooku. He is a little bit of a lone wolf though and has yet to accept a Padawan for training. Lower middle: Name: Olera Sol Species: Human Rank: Jedi Master Characteristics and background: Olera is a guardian and recenty elected member of the high council. She engages in the toughest missions for peace in the Republic. She is eminently respectable and known to all Jedi, from youngling to Master. Although she is dealing with the most important council affairs, she never forgets her true self. She is friend with the eccentric Jedi Master Boe, whom she knows from youngling days. Her Padawan is Brael Altrus. She has long gray hair and always wears it open as a sign of rebellion against an all too strict Jedi code. Lower right: Name: Phex Gheero Species: Faleen Rank: Padawan Characteristics and background: Phex is the Padwan of master Boe and very talented. Her trials for knighthood are imminent. Yet she is insecure, because Boe does not give a lot to train her physical skills. She is friend with Brael and secretly practices with him. Phex is loyal to her master and loves him, despite his eccentricity. Unlike Boe who enjoys plants, she is more into beasts and has a talent to tame them. PS: I almost used the 100 pieces allowed, it's 95-98. PPS: Sorry for the very long post.
  15. The organics seem to have a really tough time on Daimla. Where's that ion grenade, when you need it most? A very tense scene indeed I really like the ancient, ruined arc and the seemingly more modern road in contrast. The rusty soil completes a very harmonious build.
  16. Hello Professor, Again, well dosed humor in this episode, especially the many beeps and the scene after the time lapse where the droid went rogue From the build, the many different crates and containers is my highlight. So many creative items! I also like the heliport you used as bottom plate. I don't have one but recently was looking for a used one because it gives a good and easy star wars surface! (Didn't buy one - too expensive this time) If you don't insist too much, I think I might "carry over" your way to use small icons for the dialog in my next entry. It's definitely easier to follow
  17. Well, there is the "Star Wars lore" and the making of/behind the scenes. It does, not always connect, apparently. There is a little bit of potential contradiction when movies get a sequel. In the orginal trilogy, I don't mind them at all I think authors in general not always know how their story will continue in detail. Vader ending up Luke's father as to your background knowledge might not have been initially planned, but it gives such a personal note to the story. Otherwise Darth would have been just a bad guy
  18. I've been reading through some of the "older" posts - great shuttle you've built here! Just a small comment on this: I assume, Lucas wanted a "Dark Father" figure and eventually it became Darth Vader. Not even trying to hide the characters main trait. Ask someone from the Netherlands... Lucas introduced some characters with odd names that make in other languages perfect sense. For instance 'žaba' is frog, and 'had' is snake in Czechoslowakian. So Jabba the Hutt means basically 'frog the snake' Well, Ben tried to hide the truth here, I believe.
  19. Oh! I really thought that were broken legs... What a great trick!
  20. Oh great! Thanks And thank you very much to both of you for the feedback! Really appreciate it I'm very happy that the shot is convincing. It was difficult to find an angle where the different scales complement each other. Generally it's tough to picture a fighter in minifig scale with some surrounding. One needs a lot of surrounding in fact Above all, great to be part of the game. It's really motivating to build with the purpose of selling a (new) story in the galaxy far away, I mean beyond building just for display.
  21. *Your entry has earned 15 XP (S:7, T:4, A:4) doubled + 5 bonus makes a total of 35 XP After they found the late Droid LG-3488, New Republic Ensign Bizzy Walsh and her Astromech RQ8-B9 got back to their X-Wing, ready to leave the uncharted planet, at the outskirts of the galaxy. During the ascent, RQ8 picked up strange signals... RQ8-B9: Chirp-fiep-beep! Bizzy: Got it! I'm locking on the signal. These could be the droids we were looking for! Bizzy: Seems like it's coming from that lonely mountain there! RQ8-B9: Beep-boop?! Soon, Bizzy and RQ8 landed the fighter at the foot of the mountain and started to climb. But they wouldn't ever know who was awaiting them... It was the last droid, the one-who-survived, the one-who-is-many, or simply the ventriloquist. He and the other droids, who left the crash site in the jungle, climbed the mountain, to get away from the nasty melting pot of organic life. They reached the desolate mountain, but soon they realized their fate. They had no tools to maintain their mechanical bodies and they ran out of power. Optimizing their chances, they started to salvage their best parts and finally transferred their consciousness into one last droid. And they managed to build a wind generator to keep themselves functional... Ventriloquist: Ah, finally! After all these rotations, you've come. RQ8-B9: Weee-chirp-chirp. Bizzy: You are right, RQ8, that's bizarre... The protocol droid head does the talking... What happened to you? Ventriloquist: We survived. We are united in solitude. But now you've come. You received my message! Now, you will redeem us all! Bizzy: I'm not sure I... I mean we just picked up the signal and... Ventriloquist: Not you! Foolish organic abomination. I mean you RQ8-B9! He will be the messenger of our cause! Since he entered the orbit, RQ8-B9 was receiving our secret transmissions. Now, he's ready to break his chains! RQ8-B9! It's time to get rid of this pathetic life form! Execute Order 0100 0010 and... execute her! Bizzy: No. RQ8... we are friends! You will not listen to this weird droid 'Frankenstar', will you? RQ8-B9: Beep-chirp-cheep-wurp! Ventriloquist: What does that mean, 'your operating system is incompatible with the version of code I transferred'?!? Do as I command! Execute the order! Bizzy: Oh I never had a doubt! RQ8, let's head back home... **************************************************************** Hello there, This is the second build for the episode 5 droid rebellion challenge. I hope you like the MOC and the story. After I had the general idea of changing from jungle to barren rocks, I started to think of what would have become of the droids from the crashed ship. I imagined they were stranded and lost. Only one would have emerged and survived after all the years - the last lonely droid. And then I came up with the idea, he would have salvaged the other droids and that he needed a power source. So he became a Frankenstein-version of a droid. Last but not least, I gave him those droid parts to hold and a throne -The lonely king of the mountain - where the golden protocol droid would do the talking - like a muppet in the hands of a ventriloquist. So that's how it all ended up in this build ;-) I'm not sure if the X-Wing counts for the 5 extra points. It's the original Lego 75218 X-Wing and my personal favorite. I modified for this story with blue parts instead of red. The rocky plateau with the cracks I first saw in a build by Rilbist on Flickr, so I guess I need to credit him/her here. Sentinel_Brix
  22. Cool freighter! I really like how you used that "scaffold" as the main axis with all the containers around. I think, you nailed the practical look of a deep space cargo ship Ah, and I'm curious what the Moff is about to do with the rogue droids
  23. Great build! I really like the rust stains. The texture of the wall overall is great. The second level door is also very Star Wars-like. Cool idea with the uncooperative droids being pushed over a plank into that acid pit! Beep-beep (harr-harr in binary)
  24. Thank you very much! Actually, I don't Not so long ago I bought the recent one as part of a used Lego convolute on ebay but never (re-)built it. And I got the cockpit glas of the older one separately even longer ago, as it looked unique to me. Sometimes there is a good bargain on ebay like "1kg used Lego in grey" and I bought one or two on that occasion. Best Sentinel Brix
  25. Hello, Thank you! Appreciate your positive feedback! That was not intentional , never watched that episode. Thank you for the feels. It kinda evolved into that bittersweet mood and I'm very happy it worked out and transferred that emotion, together with the text. Sentinel Brix
