    Sigfig

Hehehe! Another sigfig that I have! Prepare to be slaughtered! X-D Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl Edit: D'oh! I don't have the grey brick! :'-( So much for this post. It's nice anyway - personally I'd use tiles instead of plates...
  2. 4 from me. The main things that bump it up are the brown palm tree leaf connector thing and the tub - excellent! Edit: Looking back now, I see that the treasure is actually "hidden" in that nice little hole - this set actually looks fantastic to me now: The 2 pirates are shipwrecked - one grabs an oar, the other a barrel and they swim to the nearby island, that was once an Imperial outpost, hence the cannon and ruined structures. One takes off his shirt to call for help, whilst the other explores! Lo! What's this? Blackbeard's treasuer, no less! Now the pirates must escape with the treasure - do they repair the tub and paddle away? But there's only room for one - I see a fight! Or do they do a Jack Sparrow and hold on to a firing cannon ball - now that could work! They could load the cannon and then pour the gold down the barrel and then fire it to freedom and chase after it. SlyOwl
  3. I take them apart as soon as they're on Brickshelf...I hate to part with them, but I'm not rich enough to store them; I don't have the space, or the parts - each MOC I make completely drains me of certain colours (mainly brown and green!). Alos, I'm just going to build something better anyway... SlyOwl
  4. Oh yeah, I meant to add but never got round to it that you might have to be, say, a Knight to create a new thread (this could apply to all forums or just the Embassy e.t.c...) - this means only longer-standing members can create threads; if Vassals and Citizens want to post a thread, they can contact an admin, saving on the unnecessary number of closed threads and meaning they can have their questions answered whilst limiting the visable threads. Just a thought. :-) SlyOwl
  5. I was under the impression not yet public... X-O How do you sort your minifigs? How do you store your sails? SlyOwl
  6. OK...my views: 1. If I was you, I'd try a more generic piece that would be useful in more circumstances than humorous vignettes and Jabba's Palace - say a new type of sword or hat e.t.c Also the texture is quite difficult to decide on - do you go for Lego Smooth or SW cloth? Replicating old lego pieces, like the Shako, would be another good start: there is a huge demand for shakos on BL and a reliable source wouldn't go amiss; other parts are worth trying, like the incredibly expensive black short sword - $20 on BL! Customs would sell for less, but would still have a fair amount of interest... ;-) 2. I noticed the piece isn't symmetrical - that would be a good start - it's quite noticeable that the eyes aren't matching here - X-O 3. What did the eBay one go for? 4. Is the paint you used an exact match of the official colour, or just a near match? 5. Good try, but not there yet! :-) In the words of Padme: "Don't try and grow up too fast." SlyOwl
  7. Hmm...I would only use this for special, large pieces - on smaller ones the yellowing isn't that noticeable and yellowed grey and white bricks can be used for different colours in mosaics, textured walls e.t.c... Are we due for an update? - The wing on 19 days isn't completely de-yellowed... You could try it on grey parts. SlyOwl
  8. Good - may your MOCs be great and your coffee strong! Is that all your Lego, or just the bricks? It looks like you have to be quite athletic to build with all the Lego on the floor (that is, assuming you build at a desk) - you'd have to get up and return all the time...not like me, all my Lego surrounds me at my desk... Are the vertical stripes of colours seperated into different types? Are you planning on using finer division later on? *sweet* SlyOwl
  9. I was thinking about it and browsing the depths of this forum at the same time - I couldn't resist, and why not? It's of relevence and many people have not had the chance to comment - IMHO if it's a good, interesting thread then it's worth bringing up, like "Your favourite Lego sound" and "What makes it so addicting?". If all threads that have not been posted in for 3 months are not allowed to be posted in, then please, say so! :-D That would be the cigarettes! :-P SlyOwl
  10. I don't have one, but you could try entering the Trade and Industry Catgory in the CCCV...that's what I'm doing and the prize is Dwarves Mining... ;-) Ooh! I so want to be among the first of the English to get one! :-D SlyOwl
  11. Me? When I first began with Lego when I was 2-ish, my Mum and Dad bought me and my sister (2 years my senior) a 5+ Build 'n' Store Chest for Christmas, followed by some roofing tiles and wheels and diggers over the next year. Up until the age of 9 I was given sets regularly for Birthdays and Christmases...then the supply almost dried up - the odd set over the next 5 years, but it was in 2000 that I bought my first set (Red Planet Protector)...in 2003 I recieved my RIS 2.0 for Christmas, a comination of presents and savings...no Lego followed, other than 2 castles of eBay, until 2006, bar an RCX and technic motor...Christmas 2006 indulged me with a Fenris Wolf set and a handful of Adventurers minifigs with an elephant, both of which I had specifically requested. My Birthday this year brought me an Enchanted Island, followed by my BSB, bought with B'day money - now I anticipate 3 Crossbow Attacks for Christmas this year, with possibly an SES *sweet* ... my once-best-friend also claims he has a pile of Lego scorpions for me for Christmas, but I doubt these claims... So, yeah - I do get Lego ATM, but only on request - my parents fully back my hobby (not financially though :-| , but I don't mind)... ;-) SlyOwl
  12. I thought that was the flag for surrender... SlyOwl
  13. Oh yeah! The BIG question: What faction??? Pirates? Imperial Guards? Imperial Soldiers? Spaniards? Islanders? :-D I don't know what kind of men you have - are you going to buy new ones or use old ones? And sails? - Official Lego ones or homemade? SlyOwl
  14. So...ye like Braveheart, eh Flossie? Then ye'll be interested in Castle...mayhaps Pirate too - after all, he was a long-haired, smelly, flashing Scottish rebel! X-D Welcome! Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
  15. Oooooooooooooh! *wub* Yeah! The old ones with the little holes in felt sooo nice! *wub* I use to love that sound, but, alas! No longer - as all my parts are sorted, the only time I can experience this sound is when I go to "uneducated" friends' houses... :'-) I also love the sound of holding a bunch of minifigs in each hand and cruching them against each other to make them "fight"! Any figs still holding their weapon and with a hat survive! Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
  16. When I got an elephant and a couple of Adventurers minifigs off eBay reeking of smoke, a simpl elong play with them reduced the smell - then they got mixed up with other bricks and now all smell alike; I don't know why, but just mixing and holding them removes the smell; trying not to smell them helps too ;-) Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
  17. Nice...what are you going to use for cannons? Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
  18. For me, a 4-way technic T-piece; just add an extra prong on. Bring back the old T-piece as it's much more useful than the new one :-| Also, using a red print some green leaves on the top to get a tomato ;-) SlyOwl
  19. AARRGGHH!!! *sing* I'm the Pirate King! In this case I renounce my title! X-D Nice baby; congrats 'n' bilge rats, ye lily-livered swab! Bring 'er up on rum 'n' pistols! :-D This one? Pirate King SlyOwl

    Snowmobile

I believe I suggested it first, so... X-O Me thinks you're just feeling cocky 'cos you got promoted X-D SlyOwl
  21. Me name... One day, a long time ago, I needed a name that would cover all my different internet activities without having to change (I mean "Captain Greenhair" isn't going to look too normal in BZPower... ;-) ) and so I came up with Froggybin...it was soon binned X-D and I chose SlyOwl completely randomly; I later discovered it was an anagram of slowly and it took off...the Cap'n I took here Jipay removed as I had thought it was just a temporary screenname...then my additional competition titles kicked in... Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
  22. Add me to your list - as my vote isn't of any significance anymore, I voted for you! I loved the catapult and angle *y* Pirate-King-Skelly-Killer-SlyOwl
