  1. Well, it actually started off as a fully blown evil sea monster epic designed to show off the hull technique, but then when I was experimenting with the eyes, I rediscovered the crown+tyre technique that I was going to use in my steampunk impulse MOCs but never got round to, and when I held these over the neck, the inside of the tyre looked like a smile, so I took it from there Who says they're Pirates? I deliberately said sailors and missed out any firearms to compensate for this Yes, I developed this from "Look! Bubbles!" on the Brother's Brick when they blogged my Pirate vs Islander. Sounded like farting to me, so I just stuck it in Look who's talking Have you got a problem with that? Now, to get a Hagrid face off BL... And to Phred: Ha! Only 3 studs this time!
  2. A sea monster just wants to play with the sailors and their ship
  3. I've just acquired my first SW figs, so I'm off with my MOCs... Based off the super battle droid that punches the battle droid in the Genosian arena in Episode II: Battle Droid Nosh! -What happens to droids that get in the way
  4. If you're so clever, then you should know that "admin" takes the indefinite article "an", not "a". This applies to all words beginning with a vowel, apart from where it makes the sound "yoo", for example "a unicorn". This also applies to words that begin with a constonant, but have a vowel sound, for example "an hour".
  5. Yeesh, I guess I'm Boss Nass! I just sit around sleeping and building all the time
  6. Great to have you aboard! It's mind-boggling! I can't work it out, no matter how much I tried! It looks pretty cool upside-down, with the E looking like a person
  7. I've missed this so far, but it looks great! Sort of like a grown-up BSB... ...Without a rudder As for the curved technique, I'll be racing you I'm surprised there's no plungers on it
  8. kowai to omou yo
  9. First you'll want to say which magazine it is in; theses vary around the country and world, so give a description of the cover and contents and you'll be on your way...
  10. Do you know any ways of thickening springs? It's the amount of wire that counts, not the arrangement... (I think )
  11. Hehe! Some of the shots are a little blurry/out of focus in places though... Sorry I just like correcting people "I am not Originally" Got any Corrections TinyPies? Huh? I do! The whole thing should read: I am not originally from Britain, but I am Chinese and came to England to study (on board? ) Take that, TinyPies!
  12. Sorry Surely shortening the spring would give the same amount of power as it would not be a stronger spring and the amount of energy storable would be the same?

    hi

Hey! Could you tell us a little about yourself? Nothing too personal though... Hmmf! No-one said that to me when my first post was in the Pirate Halloween contest discussion thread. My questions didn't even get answered! But then again I didn't have a welcoming thread
  14. Just look down the barrel of the cannon, pull back the pin and yuo should see that inside the two prongs that fire it and the central spoke. The H shaped part is the rest you can see. I'll see if I can photomograph it soonish I don't really want to damage any springs. I was under the impression that although stretching springs made them thinner, it also increased the width between the coils and so you get a really long, thin, weak spring How did you fit that in? Did you remove the central spoke? As I said earlier, I found that increasing the projectile weight decreased range and power, although there may be an optimum weight for this...
  15. Well, this set arrived today after I won it in the Steampunk contest. My first thought was that I most certainly wouldn't pay £19.99 for it; not only is it SW , but it's very small and there are no enemies to fight; if a jedi was included, it would be so much better! But then again, it does contain those awesome treads! It also has a lot of brown parts, which are great for those of us who rarely delve into such themes. I would have preferred it if the spider droids had one less joint in their legs; it makes them a bit difficult to stand up if they keep getting in fights. They do roll, but if you use 40 links, they will fall off half the time. The easiest way to remedy this is to use 39 on each wheel. This way the treads are tighter, so fall off less. And it also increases their rollability on smooth surfaces. Yay for all the pirate smileys in this thread! Now, if you'll excuse my lack of SW nerdiness (this is my first proper SW set; I only have two mini TFs that I got free at Legoland), I'll be off
  16. Schooling drains all creative power. A ruler is the most playful you'll ever get. General "Hickory" Jackson lead the Americans to victory over the British at the battle of New Orleans in 1815.
  17. And it's a maybe. He's a member of the upcoming Hong Kong Lug, but said that he may be around in due time...
  18. Welcome. Firstly, this should be in the Hello My Name is... forum; the other thread here is an older one from before the welcoming forum was created. As for picture uploading, try these tutorials Thirdly, you'd want to be getting yourself some proper Lego; this is a Lego fan site, and does not endorse Megablocks. There are Megablicks forums out there if you want them. Fourthly, etiquette. You'll want to stop using random smileys in the middle of your text, and start using capital letters; it earns you more respect and makes things easier to read. If those sounded a bit harsh, let me say that you're very welcome here, providing you behave properly. Furthermore, I would be interested in seeing your Flying Dutchman and Black Pearl when it is finished. Just create a MOC thread here. I don't know much about animation, but you'll want a good camera and tripod; if you don't have these then the outcome will be rather unprofessional.
  19. Welcome! Enchanted Island is one of my favourite sets too! You can read my review here Did you have any ships?
  20. Small Category: Rebels' Rock (Thanks Rocko ) 97 pieces. The back: Open the back to imprison the intruder, or hide the treasure! Note: The last two pics contain a 16x24 plate, as I don't have a 16x16 or two 8x16 plates. I can't be bothered to chop the rest off again Thanks again to Phes for the CGI background!
  21. Welcome! Trying to get your post count up?
  22. Some are WAGs...with only around 10 posts each...
  23. Great! I've just been using these, and I was wondering how exactly you tell Vue to create them; do you have objects that you can position (sun, land) and textures, or do you have to tell it to use different filters in different areas?
